The Phils get it done.

East coast vs. West coast in the NLCS.

DaveWadding 10-05-2008 08:16 PM

It's the NLCS to decide who's fans are a bigger bunch of assholes!

SammyG 10-06-2008 02:12 AM

....

Evil Vito 10-06-2008 09:24 AM

Apparently Sabathia plans on making his decision on a new team as quickly in the offseason as possible. Word has it his preference is the West Coast and I hear he wants to stay in the NL.

Seems like the Dodgers might be the best suitors at this point because they fit the above criteria plus they are shedding a lot of payroll.

YOUR Hero 10-06-2008 10:21 AM

^ that would be pretty awesome. I'm a warm Padres fan but it would be nice to see the Dodgers build something if San Diego wasn't able to.

such grace in defeat

truly inspirational

DaveWadding 10-06-2008 12:39 PM

Hey, 100 years of futility is STILL better than being a Reds fan.

Supreme Olajuwon 10-06-2008 12:54 PM

I've watched the Reds win a World Series in my lifetime. I'm gonna have to disagree.

Evil Vito 10-06-2008 08:27 PM

Rays advance

I have a hard time seeing them not letting the pressure get to them against Boston or the Angels in a playoff game, but we'll see

KingofOldSchool 10-06-2008 11:28 PM

WOOOOO

Jeritron 10-07-2008 02:00 AM

I want to face the Dodgers in the series just because a Boston sports team has broken Sammy's heart in every one of his favorite teams title hopes except baseball.

VonErichLives 10-07-2008 02:07 AM

Sox win, I was at the game... it was awesome...

bring on the rays... then just for fun I want to Dodgers! Lowe gets cheered, Nomar get cheered, Many gets booed.

Andrew Bynum. AKA, Revenge will be sweet. Just wait. Counting down till June...

Anyway. Dodgers/Sox would be fucking sick. Torre managing against the Sox again, Manny/Lowe/Cora/Nomar against their old teams, and just how historic both ball clubs are...

VonErichLives 10-07-2008 01:21 PM

Lackey is a little bitch
Quote:

We lost to a team that's not better than us," growled pitcher John Lackey, who gave up two runs and seven hits in seven innings. "We are a better team than they are. The last two days, we shouldn't have given up anything."

Supreme Olajuwon 10-07-2008 03:27 PM

I'd hardly call that being a little bitch.

MVP 10-07-2008 03:34 PM

lol Lackey, maybe the Angels should have shown up to play in Anaheim then

you're right... he's a big bitch crybaby...

I guess he had some other rants to...

maybe he and the rest of the team needs to look in the mirror.

it's like the new Seattle Mariners.

Evil Vito 10-08-2008 02:48 PM

Hey Hero, I'm not sure what the Jays' offensive situation is, but would you be interested in getting Delgado back? Apparently the Mets are definitely exercising his option, but similar to Gary Sheffield a few years back, they might try to turn around and trade him.

It'd likely cost a bullpen guy and maybe a prospect or two...I'm not entirely sure.

SammyG 10-08-2008 02:50 PM

NLCS tommorrow!!!!!

I would. By nature teams with confidence or frustration are going to think that. People don't come out and say it however because its sore, sour and utterly pointless. It also makes you look like an idiot and a little bitch. Any team or athlete who has ever lost could say this, and those who are more deserving to feel so have always refrained.

But really, it's not only totally classless and uncalled for to say, even if you believe it, but it's also false in this case. I could see that sentiment if they went up in the series and blew it in game 5, or let the team come back when they had them near elimination. But the fact of the matter is they got beaten. It would be more accurate to say they're lucky they didn't get swept, again.
The entire series I think they only had a run lead on the red sox for 2 innings.

I would. I love you Supreme, but I'm going to have completely disagree with you here.

Holy shit, One Nut Kruk picked the Dodgers in 7. Probably the first time I've ever seen him pick against the Phillies.

Evil Vito 10-09-2008 12:50 PM

Also, if it's a Dodgers/Red Sox WS...I find it funny that Manny would be guaranteed a ring either way. Wonder how many times that's happened in baseball history.

Kris P Lettus 10-09-2008 12:59 PM

Dice K gets the start for game one..

BoSox in 5..

Supreme Olajuwon 10-09-2008 01:15 PM

Pretty indifferent about the NLCS

Go Rays

I don't think he is... the team votes on each player not on the WS roster if they get a playoff share... I don't know if the ring is voted on by the players or if it's up to the owners.

either way, I doubt manny gets a ring.

I know in 2004 they voted for nomar to get money, but I don't think this team gives manny crap.

SammyG 10-09-2008 11:30 PM

Tommorrow's the bigggg game. Pissed right now, though.

McLegend 10-10-2008 10:55 AM

Pat The Bat

SammyG 10-10-2008 06:06 PM

Shit's ROUGH Nowadays.

ClockShot 10-10-2008 06:34 PM

Wow. Phillies skipper Charlie Manuel's mom died. Probably in another world right now.

VonErichLives 10-11-2008 09:36 AM

Dice-K worried me but he always does better on the road...

if the guy who likes to pitch around and put runners on base can carry a no-hitter into the 7th... I feel pretty good with Beckett and Lester coming up.

JP and Delgado didn't see things eye to eye too often. Don't know if that would ever happen. There is talk of the Jays going after Giambi. I've always been a Delgado fan, I'd like to see him as a Jay again.

Kris P Lettus 10-11-2008 09:57 PM

YOU!!

Kris P Lettus 10-11-2008 09:57 PM
