Does it remove the drum track from your HDD songs? I doubt it.

Yeah, but Guitar Hero covers often suck.

This game will rock, sandman bring me a dream.

stone cold 02-13-2009 02:17 AM

Metallica is one of greatest rock bands ever. (Kane Knight doesn't know good music when he hears it.)

D Mac 02-13-2009 03:25 AM

Amen brotha! This guy knows the score :D

IGN:

February 13, 2009 - Lars, James, Kirk and Robert are about to get some company as Activision announced today that Motorhead's lead singer and bassist, Lemmy, will be joining the group on stage in Guitar Hero Metallica. Gamers will be able to take to the stage as Lemmy and even rock out to Motorhead's 2008 version of Ace of Spades. According to Lemmy, "It's great to be in Guitar Hero with all these famous people and I'm really pleased to be in it with Metallica...but James is still taller than me."

Guitar Hero Metallica features the iconic band as well as 21 other musical acts. Gamers can play along with over 45 hits from throughout Metallica's catalog, as well as tunes from a range of other artists, including the Foo Fighters, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Queen. The venues will also reflect the titular band's albums covers and song themes.

Kalyx triaD 02-16-2009 09:34 AM

I still feel Metallica should have done a cover to "The Game", and replace the second half of the 'spit' verse with a bitchin Kirk solo.

Awesome. Looks like the stupid vocals from GH: WT are in tho. :n:

D Mac 02-27-2009 05:03 AM

King Diamond confirmed as a character in the game.

D Mac 02-27-2009 04:03 PM

Who is buying this at midnight on the day it comes out raise your hand.

Kalyx triaD 02-27-2009 04:15 PM

I can't do that, but I will have it.

I suppose I should be impressed with myself that nobody caught this.

D Mac 02-27-2009 04:19 PM

Yeah I did and agreed, just didn't post it.

Fryza 02-27-2009 04:21 PM

Meh. Game is just going to be WT with Metallica. It'll suck like the other Guitar Heroes have.

D Mac 02-27-2009 04:22 PM

 Anything with Met never sucks. :foc:

Yeah, it's not Rock Band but it'll have to do.

You're insane.

Fryza 02-27-2009 04:24 PM

It has nothing directly to do with it being Metallica, just that Guitar Hero is a poor quality series. GHII was the best, and even then, that doesn't say much.

If I remember correctly, this game will lack 'Call of Ktulu' and 'The Thing That Should Not Be'. Granted, I may be wrong on the latter, but lack of the former confirms my lack of interest in the game.

D Mac 02-27-2009 04:24 PM

Yeah it has a lot of new features that WT doesn't have. Although the vocals look the same, i'll sing my ass off never the less.

DLC hopefully

Fryza 02-27-2009 04:27 PM

I'd just been more content with this being DLC for WT, and neither game having 'exclusive rights' to bands. There are a lot of Metallica songs I would like to see in RB, but oh well.

I'll not only settle, but be happier with, 'Peace Sells'.

Wasn't Hendrix supposed to be the next artist specific GH?

D Mac 02-27-2009 04:27 PM

The Thing that S.N.B. is in.

Just watched the video with King Diamond and the stages fucking look bad ass.

Funky Fly 03-06-2009 02:07 PM

You know, I'll probably pick these band exclusive titles up when they're finally in the bargain bin.

Or the option to export becomes available.

Funky Fly 03-06-2009 02:11 PM

That'll never happen on Activision titles.

D Mac 03-06-2009 02:13 PM

But this is fucking METALLICA. A no brainer purchase.

G 03-06-2009 02:14 PM

Exactly. People without the ability to think will purchase this. It IS Metallica afterall.

D Mac 03-06-2009 02:19 PM

Seriously tho, it looks good. Yeah it's similar to World Tour but the animations and Metallica renders themselves look spot on. Rock Band would still be better, but this looks pretty damn good for GH standards.

Funky Fly 03-06-2009 02:25 PM

I really only like their first few albums best. The rest of their stuff ranges from ok (black) to utter crap (St. Anger).

Rumor: Activision preparing Guitar Hero: Van Halen

by Ludwig Kietzmann { 1 hour ago }

You wanna be privy to some exclusive, top secret information? Though it may sound like our usual brand of preposterous, blogger rabble rousing, we have reason to believe that Activision is working on ... another Guitar Hero game. It's true! Sources say that this next Guitar Hero will come out after the next Guitar Hero comes out.

...

Alright, so we have a few more details beyond that evergreen speculation. Let's switch to third-person! Joystiq has been informed that Activision's next artist-oriented Guitar Hero release will be based around Van Halen. According to Joystiq's source, the game is set to arrive sometime after Guitar Hero: Metallica and will include several songs hailin' from the Californian rock band's catalogue, including "Jump," "Panama" and "Hot for Teacher." You can also expect a smattering of songs from other bands, like Judas Priest's "Pain Killer," Tenacious D's "Master Exploder" and Weezer's "Dope Nose."

Activision was unable to lend the leaked information any more credence, saying, "The RedOctane/Guitar Hero team is currently focused on the upcoming release of Guitar Hero Metallica, as well as the recently announced titles Guitar Hero Greatest Hits and Guitar Hero On Tour: Modern Hits, and does not comment on speculation or rumor." We didn't bother asking if Creedence is in it.

Kalyx triaD 03-06-2009 05:41 PM

Oh boy.
