What is that, DC Universe?

I wasn't aware there was a console port. I dunno. I can't imagine it taking off on consoles.

I FINALLY installed this into my computer this afternoon. Pretty fun. I assume that you can only start equiping armor/weapons at a certain level? Went out as a Smuggler and I already picked up a few guns.

Check the stats. If you hover over it I. The inventory it will tell you what level you need to be to use it or if you need to learn any extra skills. The red text will tell you what you need but don't have.

Just made it to Alderaan. No wonder they blew it up, fucking place is a death trap.

Weird Alderann is supposed to be a peaceful world without weapons of any kind.

Just read about it on the Wiki because I know fuck all about Star Wars.

It was peaceful at the time of the movies but in the time of The Old Republic, it was the main focus for Sith invasions for the great galactic war.

I played the beta but I just got the game for X-mas. About to roll a Jedi Consular.

Anybody playing together on a certain server?

Nah. I would have a character on a US server with you chumps, but it can be a bit laggy at peak times even on a Euro server.

I dunno. It depends really. You got your PVEs and PVPs. Eastcoast and westcoast. And how many players are in the room.

Lots to choose from. Of course, whatever class you start with chances are slim you start on a different planet than someone else.

Can't get a name on this thing accepted. Is like every star wars related name taken?

Is there any demo for this game I don't want to pay 60 bucks and have it not work on my computer?

I had to go with a really obscure and weird account name. Not even Star Wars related, but none of my usual usernames for anything (that I've never seen used by anyone else, anywhere) would work as they were already taken.

And no, no demo. Trials on MMOs don't tend to appear right at the start.

As crazy as it sounds, the simplest of names usually works. I don't know if you're having problem getting a forum name or character name.

Finally got off Ord Mantell. Learning my advanced skills on the republic fleet right now.

Haven't been able to play all day so far. Errors when I go to update.

Got my ship tonight and headed to Balmorra.

Going to try the Ship combat next chance I get.

Also, reached DARK SIDE Level 1 :)

Bought it and it works perfectly fine. Stupid System Requirement Lab had me worried over nothing.

Though there is one problem that my character walks around like an asshole and won't follow directions. Can a 360 controller be used for movements? The WASD doesn't seem to want to work good enough.

Also my character is called JohnLucPicard wanted to do JohnLuckPeckerd from Tapestry but it was too long.

Nope all keyboard and mouse.

I think someday we should all try to get on one server. Sorta try to help each other out on quests and what not. Just a thought.

Whats with every server having a different game? I wish I had picked an East Coast cause I didn't know there was a difference.

That's just how it is. The number of players would be too much for one server. The name is meaningless.

As far as the East/West coast distinction, that's more for guild activities. You wouldn't want to play on a West coast server if you're on the East coast because the times you play would likely be different from the other people on the server.

Come hell or high water, I'm getting off Courscant tomorrow. Place is driving me nuts.

Seems like this game is about "getting the fuck" off this planet ASAP no matter what the planet is. I remember actually wanting to go to Tatoonine in KOTOR. WHat happened?

It's not just that. Don't mind bouncing around the planet doing side and heroic missions. It's just for me, don't know about everyone else who's playing, I feel like at the next main mission I'm about to get the son of a bitch, and instead they throw me another curve and I gotta work harder.

I think MMOs are like this in general.

Zones just get boring or uninteresting. I don't think it's a unique attribute to SWtOR.

1st DLC pack announced and is called "Rise of the Rakghouls" and has a release date of January 17. The update itself will patch the game to a 1.1 version, a new Flashpoint mission, and a new Objective mission.

Bioware also revealed why the high-res packs shown in trailers, screens, and the beta were taken away with their reason was them "causing severe performance issues, even on powerful PCs." Although they are still shown during cut scenes and dialogs due to only having a couple of characters to draw/show on a screen.

Bioware announced yesterday the 1.1 update has been delayed and it could be related to the recent 1.1 patch itself "breaking" parts of the game.

The official forums are full of complaints about the recent patch not actually fixing anything while there is a huge concern of a potential massive drop in user base once the free trail period ends. Bioware had promised earlier the content would be available well before the 30 days free trial ends.

I updated a couple hours ago. However, the new mission add-on only applies to high level players. And I am nowhere close to even touching that for quite a while.

Has anyone been playing this?

I played the free trial this weekend. I was having fun with the game, but when I hit the trial restrictions (can't talk to people, can't level tradeskills beyond a certain point, etc.), I quit.

Yeah I'm like a level 31 Jedi Knight. It's a pretty good game so far. I've been a little busy with Mass Effect for the week.

Doesn't seem to be available in my country :(

I was actually very keen to play this.

You can import it fine though and it will work.

Anyway, I played the 30 days free I got out the box and enjoyed it, just not in a "here take my money every month" enjoy.
