I'm looking forward to seeing Burke do some good things.

iMPACT! was good, again.

Liked the opening segment with Kip James, Foley segment was funny. I'm already excited at the prospect of Hamada/Kong. Match-quality is a hell of a lot better than in WWE, and some storylines look interesting.

Fuck, I really don't think the TNA-abuse is warranted any more. Admittedly, there's a shit load that could be better and they do some unnecessary and stupid shit. But so do WWE, and the match-quality like 70% of the time is a lot better in TNA.

I can't be fucked to go too far into it because I enjoy iMPACT! and really that's what matters, and there's no chance of convincing half of the TNA hate-bandwagoners to open their deluded eyes, but I just find that every week I think TNA's improving and does a lot of entertaining segments/feuds/matches, and they deserve just as much credit as criticism.

Also, to anyone a bit clued up, does TNA really beat WWE ratings here in the UK?

Yes, it did, for 2 weeks. There's reasons though.

It costs more to have the channels that show WWE (sky sports, roughly £20 a month ontop of other fees) You can get Bravo that holds TNA relatively cheaply.

Now there's a few schools of thought on this, WWE has 4 replays a week, 2 'Major' ones though in decent slots. TNA beat the combined figures including the replays.

This week WWE beat TNA, so fucks knows, they don't go head to head at the same time (for the 1st showings anyway)

Now, Bravo is owned by the Virgin network. Sky, are looking to buy Virgin's channels, basically this would mean that Sky would have the rights to 2 different promotions, so chances are, TNA will be looking for someone new to broadcast their show, if they pick up a freeview channel, they could easily be the biggest promotion in the country ratings wise.

As for TNA itself, I totally agree, no wrestling show is perfect, but right now, I am really enjoying TNA, all the talent up and down the card have a purpose and direction and the product is very solid, just a shame their PPV's are the shits.

I expected this answer to come from you, Dave

Cheers for the information, that sounds pretty positive for TNA overall :y:

Just think of me as the your resident UK expert :y:

Oh definitely, it's grown very well over the past 18 months over here. They are doing another tour at the start of the year in some pretty big arena's. The M.E.N Arena in Manchester holds 16,000 people. Thing they are doing 7 venues this time round and all the reviews from the house shows have always been positive, so I'll be going to these I think.

NoRoolz 08-30-2009 10:38 AM

Are they doing iMPACT! shows in the UK or just a normal tour sort of thing?

If they're recording iMPACT! over here I may well attend.

i think it is just house shows, but there house shows are pretty good, i think they are better then wwe house shows.

NoRoolz 08-30-2009 10:56 AM

Ah right cheers. Can't say I've ever been to a house-show, dunno why I'd just always prefer to go to a televised event.

Definitely agree. iMPACT! was very good this week. Match quality is usually better in TNA, and this week there was a lot more wrestling than normal (which was great).

TNA is improving, no doubt. There are a lot of things they're doing well right now. Of course, there are some things that could be going better, but they are definitely making strides.
