just started watching this a couple of days ago out of morbid curiosity. i say morbid curiosity because this show had the misfortune of being aired first on channel ten over here, who are notorious for their dodgy programming choices. so instinctively during its run on ten i avoided it like the plague, but i've been real low on stuff to watch lately and i knew some of you guys rated this show so i gave it a bash and holy shit, i was so pleasantly surprised. such a good show. love these characters. about to start on season 2. got through s1 in like a day and a half. got hooked straight up. so many good throwbacks and references. i feel like if you missed episodes on tv and tried to keep up it would be nowhere near as good because of so many throwaway references.

either way, love this show.

should i give modern family a bash? at the moment it's suffering from the same fate as community did on account of the channel that shows it.

I really liked the Chirstmas special

This show getting ignored at last year's Emmy Awards was one of the biggest travesties of all time. The Paintball episode should have given them the nomination for best comedy series of the year and it should have taken the trophy. Modern Family Vs. Modern Warfare. Modern Warfare wins!

It also introduced me to Alison Brie who is unbelievably hot.

yeah loved the paintball episode. so many wonderful die hard references.

troy is one of the best characters on tv. he and abed together are amazing. loved the giant picture of young chevy chase in pierce's bedroom. only got like 9 episodes left to get through before i'm caught up and have to pace myself again, boooo.

What happened to Chevy Chase's legs? I missed a few episodes.

You know, I love how, for being an episodic show, it really sticks with things that happen in other episodes. Chevy in the wheel chair, the face Troy gives when he finds out Shirley may be pregnant, etc.

I also loved how in the one episode, they had Abed in the background scenes talking and helping the pregnant girl, and eventually helping her give birth, without ever really mentioning it.

This clip, by itself, really makes no sense.

It was whatever one Britta and Annie got into the fight in Oil, and Pierce's mom died, and Pierce thought her spirit or whatever was in the lava lamp.

Yeah like I noticed him helping a pregnant lady walk in the background and was like umm did you see that to my friend, who did not. Was pretty low key until the end where they gave more of a shot to him. Love the little stuff like that they do.

Yeah, there's a TON of little stuff in this show that just makes me love it more. Like the oil cans in the one show were from "Wilde Oil", which is the oil company from Running Wilde.

Also, in the episode where Annie freaks out about her pen, if you watch closely in the beginning, you can actually see Annie's Boobs steal the pen.

Have started to watch this show. I am liking it so far.

Only negative thing about is Ken Jeong, who I personally cannot stand. Hopefully his role is diminished as the show goes on. Only like four or five episodes into the first season right now.
