The guy has suffered enough embarrassment, they publicly announced his wellness policy suspensions and his release when it happened. I just thought that in his death that the notice they posted should have been 100% respectful and it wasn't.

:wavesad: Umaga/Eddie Fatu

Had a good run with the Umaga character and looked to be headed into a better position before he got cut from the WWE.

Well actually, in defense of that. i remember when Vince showed a soft side and showed compassion by letting Kurt Angle out of his deal back in 2006 when Kurt was in real bad shape.

Its good that Kurt pulled the wool over Vince's eyes though on that one because Vince deserved it. He screwed over so many other people.

Skippord 12-04-2009 07:06 PM

holy shit

wow

CWK 12-04-2009 07:07 PM

Nevermind Vince or Kurt Angle right now.

Long Live UMAGA!!!!!!

Dark-Slicer Diago 12-04-2009 07:08 PM

R.I.P Eddie "Umaga" Fatu.

thedamndest 12-04-2009 07:09 PM

They publicly announce everyone's wellness policy suspensions. You really aren't indicating to me how telling everyone that he didn't work there at the time of his death is disrespectful.

Also, it isn't really the WWE's fault they would put something like that up there. When a wrestler dies, who is the first person Nancy Graces calls. The WWE. Writing when he stopping working for the company is just answering a question everyone is already going to ask.

CWK 12-04-2009 07:10 PM

They could have put his career information in a separate post on their site.

thedamndest 12-04-2009 07:13 PM

Did you even go to the WWE website?

D Mac 12-04-2009 07:15 PM

RIP. I'm gonna make a story on Smackdown vs Raw 2010 in his honor. Him running through people basically.

thedamndest 12-04-2009 07:15 PM

Juan, if you're still looking for threads to delete I nominate this one.

D Mac 12-04-2009 07:16 PM

I remember actually marking out when him and Great Khali suddenly went at it in a match where they were both heels.

XL 12-04-2009 07:29 PM

I really see no problem here.

WWE dumped Eddie Fatu cos he was a druggie. In fact, I think they sacked him cos he refused the help they offered him. He died (presumably) due to this reason. Why shouldn't they dissassociate themselves with the guy?

Yeah it's sad that the guy has passed at a young age, but WWE/Vince tried to help him, they should not shoulder any blame here. In noting when he left the company they are distancing themselves.

It would have been harse if the sentence read: Mr. Fatu was under contract with WWE at various time periods and most recently performed under the name "Umaga." Mr. Fatu's contract was terminated on June 11, 2009 when he wouldn't accept our offer to help him through the drug addiction that no doubt played a part in his eventual death.

R.I.P. Eddie Fatu. :(

Thoroughly enjoyed him as a performer, both as Jamal as well as Umaga.

DLVH84 12-04-2009 07:38 PM

If WWE put a graphic of him in his memory, it should be of his scariest pose.

DAMN iNATOR 12-04-2009 07:49 PM

Goodbye, Samoan Bulldozer...we'll miss you and your patented Samoan Spike.:'(:wavesad:

My thoughts also go out to his other famous WWE relative, Rikishi in his hour of need. :(

TOTALLY Agree here... It sux that he is gone, and it's very sad... My heart goes out to his family... Unfortunately, business is business... Drug addiction is a sad thing if this was the case...

LuigiD 12-04-2009 08:12 PM

damn..that is fucking crazy. I came home from the library and checked TPWW only to find those crappy ass news. I went to eat dinner, came back and he is gone. RIP.

RGWhat316 12-04-2009 08:13 PM

Kinda tough to hear about what was going on just a few hours ago, then almost have to wait for the news. Really sad to hear. My prayers go out to the family of The Saaaaamoan Bulldozer, Umaga! RIP to Eddie Fatu.

NeanderCarl 12-04-2009 08:13 PM

He shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary him, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember him.

R.I.P. Oooooooomaga

Team Sheep 12-04-2009 08:17 PM

RIP Umaga :(

I was just gonna say though as soon as I heard about this, WWE dodged a bullet here by firing him when they did. Sad but true. :$

Innovator 12-04-2009 08:36 PM

RIP Umanga

Xero 12-04-2009 08:51 PM

Heard about this from HS.

RIP Umaga. :(

Tazz Dan 12-04-2009 08:53 PM

RIP

Xero 12-04-2009 08:55 PM

Really, I thought Umaga was pretty great. The man got a cartoon gimmick over pretty damn well in a believable way. In today's landscape that's pretty rare. He was also really good in the ring. Umaga vs Cena from the Rumble was a damn good brawl.

Supreme Olajuwon 12-04-2009 09:08 PM

Three minutes and he's outta here. :'(

Schlomey 12-04-2009 09:29 PM

gutted just don't cut it tonight fellas :(

kareru 12-04-2009 09:42 PM

another wrestler gone guys, this happens far to often for my liking

Schlomey 12-04-2009 09:54 PM

But what do you plan to do about it is the question!!!??!!

Lock Jaw 12-04-2009 10:07 PM

Damn. RIP Umaga. He was really the first "monster" character since Kane's original run that I could really get behind and enjoy watching.

Schlomey 12-04-2009 10:13 PM

His LMS match with John Cena totally made me love and respect him. That was his best match...and possibly Cena's

screech 12-04-2009 10:15 PM

God dammit

RIP Umanga :(

This is what kind of world we live in now. Sad.

LONG LIVE THE SAMOAN BULLDOZER........ UUUUUUUUUMAGA!!!!!!

Hush. They mentioned him, which they didn't have to do, and in this case even mentioning him is probably not good for them. This isn't a new low, and I don't suppose we can hold off bitching about WWE for a while, given someone's dead....

ClockShot 12-04-2009 10:32 PM

R.I.P.
