For gaming purposes I understand being a gun, microscope, boombox, or a vw beetle aren't very attractive options.

BigDaddyCool 05-13-2010 10:48 AM

Personally, if I had real input into the game, I would have certain class restrictions where it made since, like Leaders could be anything, scouts could be anything small and light including jets. Warriors should be anything big and heavy possibly including jets. Scientists coud go back to being anything.

I admit it would be funny as Hell to see someone morph into a boombox though.

Kalyx triaD 05-13-2010 07:17 PM

I would love transforming into a boombox. I'm sure that has combative potential.

Kane Knight 05-13-2010 07:30 PM

Well, the whole "shooting CDs" thing seemed to work in the movie.

One of the things you've revealed about the multiplayer component is the ability to create your own Transformer. How does the class system work, and how deep will the customization options be?

There are four classes to choose from: Scouts, Leaders, Scientists and Soldiers. As you play you will earn experience points and unlock new stuff. Each class has unique Weapons, Skills and Abilities to choose from, but you have to make good choices because you can only take a limited number of Weapons, Skills and Abilities into combat. What kind of leader do you want to be? All about the team? Good at a specific map or game mode? All about the kill-to-death ratio? We allow players to make multiple versions of each class because you can craft characters for specific roles in the game. All those tough decisions are the same for the other classes because they each have unique Weapons, Skills and Abilities.

On top of all that, players can for the first time "make their own Transformers." This is something that I am extremely excited about. You can choose the chassis and robot, as well as color them the way that you want – who doesn’t want to make their own Transformer?

Kane Knight 05-18-2010 04:50 AM

I'm all about the K/D ratio.

Kalyx triaD 05-18-2010 04:58 AM

o shit

Kane Knight 05-18-2010 09:22 AM

yall bitchest best recognise

BigDaddyCool 05-18-2010 09:52 AM

Yay! The illusion of customization.

Kalyx triaD 05-18-2010 05:20 PM

Some should look up the word.

Some should take it less literally, since what BDC is bitching about is pretty much what you wee bitching about:

Kalyx triaD 05-19-2010 04:29 AM

People can change.

Kane Knight 05-19-2010 04:26 PM

Yes they can, but you're just being hypocritical.

Kalyx triaD 05-25-2010 07:19 AM

If you remix the definition, I guess. Anyway:

I thought this came out on the 8th not the 22nd :(

Khuntry 06-01-2010 11:33 AM

Goddamn Gamestop...

If my "remix," you mean "use real definitions instead of the ones Kalyx uses," yes.

But I was already using those real, normal versions of the words, so I don't need to translate out of Asperger.

Anyway, game's still looking sexy as fuck. Want.

Kalyx triaD 06-02-2010 02:40 PM

How's hating working out for you? I got a phrase for that, ya know.

So, this is the trailer that's gonna be shown at E3. I see Trypticon and Omega Supreme in there, but no Metroplex.

Somebody make me a case to reserve this game right now.

Kalyx triaD 06-04-2010 05:17 PM

When you pick up guns they transform onto your character's arm and adopt his colors.

BigDaddyCool 06-04-2010 05:37 PM

Hmmm, i remember the transformers just carrying guns.

Or, as War for Cybertron calls it, Escalation Mode. Yep, WfC is getting its own Horde Mode and it's really promising stuff. On the surface, it's your usual brand of wave-based co-op gameplay as friends team up to tackle increasingly difficult baddies. However, communication is key, because each kill awards points to the players which must be spent between rounds on ammunition and firepower. Players running low on ammo need to ask point-heavy players to buy them more rounds, and the whole team needs to pool their individual resources in order to succeed.

It's a really cool concept and should make Escalation stand out from other "Horde" style game modes.
Awesome.

ClockShot 06-05-2010 05:40 PM

Reserved this even though nobody gave me a good case. Went through Best Buy again. Got a feeling Jazz is gonna be the next Oddjob like in Goldeneye.

Kalyx triaD 06-05-2010 05:43 PM

There's a playthrough somewhere in this thread.

Kalyx triaD 06-10-2010 12:15 AM

Demo... later today. Multiplayer, I believe. Have fun.

Kalyx triaD 06-10-2010 12:49 PM

Awesome, has an old-school FPS feel that fits. So far it's balanced out but there is only two classes to choose.

LoDownM 06-10-2010 02:46 PM

Disappointed in the lack of a PS3 demo.

LoDownM 06-22-2010 02:20 PM

So this came out today. I've enjoyed it so far.

Kalyx triaD 06-23-2010 10:35 PM

Everybody buy this game.

BigDaddyCool 06-23-2010 10:48 PM

Maybe laters, Klax.

LoDownM 06-23-2010 11:22 PM

Not really a fan of the melee combat in this, too call of dutyish. Would rather be able to just switch to the melee weapon and do combos and such.

BigDaddyCool 06-23-2010 11:29 PM

Besides for being gaint fighting robots with transforming abilities does it have anything to do with Transformers? Or is it more of they saw the Micheal Bay movies, thought it would make a good game, went and did some research on wikipedia and gets the general gist of the concept?

Kalyx triaD 06-23-2010 11:58 PM

CoD melee is instant kill, and very few FPS games have extensive melee mechanics. It does seem hard to land in this game, though.

It's more like G1 then the movies. Just takes place on Cybertron. Altho they did go the Bay route and made Bumblebee way more useful then he ever was in G1.

Also, disappointed Soundwaves special ability isn't being able to use Laserbeak/Rumble/Ravage when you play as him :(

its official canon actually.

Kalyx triaD 06-24-2010 01:43 AM

I like it better than G1 actually. This is Transformers as it should be, essentially the first episode's 10mins blown out into a game. Very awesome. Gonna get the movie soundtrack to play it to.

Roll out!

BigDaddyCool 06-24-2010 11:26 AM

I may get it then.
