Nice rebuttal. I hadn't thought of that argument before.

I like watching HHH and HBK work together in the ring but I fucking hate the DX crap. I loved when DX had tons of adult humor. I wonder if DX has changed so much due to Michaels becoming a born again Christian and stuff.

Steveviscious89 12-23-2009 01:22 AM

Yeah..basically they are going to do whatever it takes to make sure their production is the way they want it. If you are in the crowd, you have lost all rights short of whatever WWE wants for their production, which I don't think taking away your sign would have made a difference either way.

I made a comment in the Raw thread mentioning that I bet the audience was pissed.....good call I guess.

And yeah...this DX sucks. Love HHH and HBK, but this is an abortion. WWE can go after all the kiddies they want...but at the end of the day they are looking at a 3 in the ratings while TNA is willing to do whatever it takes at this point.

Stickman 12-23-2009 02:04 AM

DX has been absolutly terrible. It's so forced and so dumbed down that is almost embarassing to watch. I dont' know how HBK and HHH could respect themselves for doing this garbage.

The sad part is that the WWE is worse. I can't watch it anymore. Last night after Raw, which I only saw 5 minutes of I wondered if the WWE changed anything in the past year. Nothing has changed, it's the same old recycled, forced, shit. I hate it now. Watching the old videos in this thread made me realize how bad shit has gotten.

Rammsteinmad 12-23-2009 02:47 AM

No.

I seriously hate DX right now. They're holding EVERYONE down! They hog WAY TOO MUCH TV time. They're ALWAYS in the main event angles.

Seriously, Shawn Michaels is awesome and Triple H, well is pretty crappy, but DX right now are destroying WWE for me.

James Steele 12-23-2009 04:00 AM

Then please, go watch TNA and start the 2010 MONDAY NIGHT WARS...OMG!!!!!

Tb1 12-23-2009 04:06 AM

On a related note, I'm really pulling for a Trips vs. HBK Wrestlemania match.

James Steele 12-23-2009 04:11 AM

I still think this will all lead to HBK turning heel on Triple H and the entire reasoning being that Triple H/Vince McMahon convinced HBK to sell-out for easy money etc and as a result he had lost his focus and couldn't win the big match anymore (WM23 vs Cena, WM25, etc.) when he is/was the greatest big-match wrestler of all time!

Soda Popinski 12-23-2009 07:15 AM

Only version of DX I liked was when they were making female fans flash their titties.

abec 12-23-2009 08:30 AM

How can you enjoy something that's not like it was? The original DX started after Shawn stuffed gauze down his shorts, the humor was dirty and the antics were at the time controversial. DX was made to be Rated R, you cant do that in the current product so its just crap. Obviously people still want it, but smarks want to puke. It doesn't help that Shawn is married now and eats his prayers and vitamins before he goes to bed.

Ermaximus 12-23-2009 10:12 AM

So is it safe to say that "little people's court" will go down as one of the worst angles ever? Not quite Katie Vick level, but none the less, just as terrible.

The Jayman 12-23-2009 10:21 AM

i voted no

Katie Vick > Little People's Court

Xero 12-23-2009 11:51 PM

Late Gooker entry.

Maybe even in the running for Gooker of the Decade.

Mr. Nerfect 12-24-2009 08:24 AM

Right now, DX does absolutely nothing but negatives for me. However, if they were to turn heel, and become smart-ass political bastards who know they have the company by the balls, I think I would fall in love with them.

THIS.

The Fraze 12-24-2009 11:39 AM

The current product as a whole right now is absolutely terrible. I can't believe I even watch this shit.

Sixx 12-24-2009 11:57 AM

This thread is a little weird.

Sixx 12-24-2009 11:58 AM

This was DX humor.

Do this, then add CM PUNK!

:shifty:

Mr. Nerfect 12-24-2009 03:48 PM

Why?

Anybody Thrilla 12-24-2009 11:25 PM

Because that's the 'hot' running gag in the wrestling forum, Noid.

The Fraze 12-25-2009 01:48 AM

The only thing I've enjoyed about 2009's DX is when Triple H pedigreed the little bastard.

Which brings me to this, why the fuck is Hornswoggle in the WWE? What does he add, 5 little viewers?

The Fraze 12-25-2009 02:07 AM

He annoys the shit out of me whenever he's on. I do not know why the fuck he is in the WWE.

Emperor Smeat 12-25-2009 02:32 AM

Voted No as a whole. DX tends to have good matches every so often but besides the merchandise selling skits which tend to be funny, the rest either drags on too long or was never funny to begin with and feels too forced.

My biggest issue is how it seems like any feud DX is in, the other team ends up getting depushed or not used by the end of it. For example, Spirit Squad basically fell apart after DX kept squashing them and the Legacy could have been pushed as a dominate tag team had they won more in the feud. Now the Legacy is back to being just Orton's lackeys instead of being Orton's lackey and a dominate tag team.

Rammsteinmad 12-25-2009 08:10 AM

Which is pretty much what I've been saying about DX for the last year or two. They win every feud they're in, therefore not really putting anyone over.

IMO, letting Legacy win at one PPV, only to be beat them at the next isn't putting them over, because DX always come out as the final victors.

Initially, it was an attempt to neuter Finlay (not like that). The brain trust behind that was the person opposed to Finlay making an in-ring comeback to begin with: John Laurinitis. It actually failed until they turned him face.

Why is he still here? Because you touch yourself at night.

It's like going into Olive Garden, getting their endless pasta bowl, and cutting you off at a bowl and a half.

Not really, its like coming to Olive Garden to get their endless pasta bowl and then flipping the table over and break the furniture and getting kicked out for not following the establishment's rules. Yo gotta follow the rules man. I totally see u was hurt over ur sign being taken but rules are rules and the rule is that WWE has the right to take any sign they think is disruptive.

Vince used to love to push Freedom of Speech.

They still do.

And yet? You can't be anti-DX, anti-Cena, etc.

The Fraze 12-27-2009 01:28 AM

God wrestling sucks so much now it really upsets me...

I haven't seen Smackdown in a month and Raw is so shitty I can't even remember what happened on last weeks show.

Oh! I thought it might have been a gag, but that would have required it to have been funny or something.

Mr. Nerfect 12-27-2009 08:46 AM

Even though they had/teased a mini-program between the two (I honestly can't remember it -- RAW sucks), if John Morrison & The Miz somehow joined forces to take down D-Generation X, I would find it to be a captivating storyline. Especially if Mizorrison got to write their promos and such themselves, like you got the impression with The Dirt Sheet.

The Miz's "Are you fifty?" lines could have been the tip of the iceberg for how they could have slammed DX. Let them say what they want, and basically be a "real" presence against the corporate polish of DX. Hopefully you'd eventually get an effect where some fans were actually backing the younger guys. If DX had put over Mizorrison like they did Legacy, I think both guys would have been able to use those victories more than Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase have done.
