That's why I do taxi missions at the start of the game, you learn the roads/map

DS 10-28-2004 02:22 AM

You won't really have to in San Andreas. Most of the first missions are all around the same place and it's not too terrible to learn most of the roads. I have Los Santos down pretty good.

VJW 10-28-2004 02:24 AM

I'm still having trouble finding my way around LS. I wish that I'd get money for missions instead of just respect. I'm just glad that I'm outta LS since SF and the countryside seems so much bigger IMO. I still like LS but SF is a lot better since it has tons of hills, bridges, trams, and other cool places. I wonder how good LV is gonna be

DS 10-28-2004 02:27 AM

Las Venturas is crazy.

Splaya 10-28-2004 04:12 AM

I beat up a pimp tonight and got 2500

Boondock Saint 10-28-2004 04:15 AM

Pickin' this bad boy up tomorrow right after class.

Innovator 10-28-2004 05:16 AM

IF you want fast cash, beat up dealers, they wear black, they usually carry 2G on them

road doggy dogg 10-28-2004 06:05 AM

Mannnnn

That first home invasion mission... I got there, and took 4 crates of guns out, but got greedy and went in for another with ~1:20 left. Woke the guy up, then the cops blew my truck up when I was within like 10 feet of the paint shop. wekasauce

Splaya 10-28-2004 11:15 AM

Yeah that does suck. Wait till your next mission called Catalyst. Mad hott but also Madd hard.

AareDub 10-28-2004 11:59 AM

Catalyst was hot, probably one of my favorite missions thus far.

Boondock Saint 10-28-2004 12:08 PM

Gonna go pick this up within the hourrrr kiiidddd

Hired Hitman 10-28-2004 12:13 PM

Meh... It will arrive in about... three and a half days.

GODSON 10-28-2004 12:29 PM

I took the game back, this game is probably the most horrific game to ever be created. It's a shame that games is becoming more and more violent. Really, as a grown black man, this game is so stereotypical.

Hired Hitman 10-28-2004 12:35 PM

Stereotypical... It's just a game. ;)

Boondock Saint 10-28-2004 12:59 PM

Just bought it. Latersss

Hey man, I know the stuff was really racy when it came to what was said. But you have to move beyond that. I just keep playing the game regardless of what is said. I mean if your that offended don't post about it anymore and leave it at that.

You just made my point, when a video game have to become this crazy you know it's getting out of hand. What's next, raping women as a mission? Or let's burn down a church? They push my button with this one, am just going to get Halo 2 and Metal Gear since they know how to control the violence.

Can you imagine a 18 year old playing this game in Compton California. After he finish playing the game, he would get all hard and think he's gangsta. It can happen, there are people who listen to Rap Music and think they gangsta.

Blame the parents if they kids playing the game? That's wrong because stores never ask for id's. I brought the first GTA at age 15 or 16 and they did'nt ask for a thing. I used to buy gangsta rap at age 12 all by myself.

Splaya 10-28-2004 01:15 PM

Yeah hey asshole. Every place me and my buddies went to to get the game to reserve it definitely Id'd us. So don't say it doesn't happen, cause it does. A bunch of kids I know are all pissed because they cannot buy the game because of having to be Id'd for it.

Ogen 10-28-2004 01:21 PM

ID'd for a game LOL

Hired Hitman 10-28-2004 01:23 PM

I don't think Rockstar would include Rape.... but even if it did, It's just a Video Game.

If an 18 year old is stupid enough to try things he see's in a Video Game, then he derserves to get hurt.

I would blame the parent for not telling their child that Video Games just like movies are not real and that the things done in the movies/ in games are not ment to be tried in real life, you could get hurt... my Father taught me that when I was 4 and I have never done anything stupid, I am smart enough to know better.

The Fugitive 10-28-2004 01:31 PM

Went to Electronic Boutinque today, for some reason, they had released it a day earlier. I took my chances and bought it.

Hope this is worth it. If it's not, I'll say it was scratched, demand a refund and get it overseas.

GODSON 10-28-2004 01:36 PM

This will be my last time posting in this topic.

This game is not made for kids or adults. It's made for people who is either sick, evil, racist or irresponsible. Enjoying this game is like enjoying the devil.

I know people always use the movies and games arguments. Except games is control by you, you determine what happens next. Everything is plan by you.

I own, play and enjoy violent games before but I haven't seen a game this extreme. It's like enjoying wrestling(which I do) but hating Backyard wrestling. There is a certain level to take the game to. Like I said, in the next GTA we will probably see a Burn Down a church or Robbed a Priest mission. Or Kill your enemy pregnant girl?

It obvious Rockstar don't have limits.

LOL, You are such a moron.

Jonster 10-28-2004 01:58 PM

I've said it before, and I may say it again.

I want (all) Super Mario Brother's (games) banned as it is pure evil, those goomba's were just walking along and Mario jumps on their heads.
I'm going to go into town and jump on someone's head right now.

BRB

LMAO

good work

Anywhoo, I've noticed this game lacking a lot of the style of GTA VC though, thats my main prob with it

AareDub 10-28-2004 02:37 PM

I've had to turn away at least 4 or 5 people trying to buy the game because they were under the age of 17. They probably went right down the street to Wal-Mart and bought it anyway, but whatever.

The missions keep getting better and better, especially the ones for Big Smoke.

I also managed to end up somewhere I wasn't supposed to be for the first time. I was swimming and climbed up on some little area and then my wanted level jumped way up. I was met with speeding cars, helicopters, a solid lineup of guys that looked like state troopers or something, all holding rifles and such. It was awesome :D

Oh and one more note. My mom mentioned seeing a news story about how this game isn't for kids and she didn't think a game could really be that bad. However, as she was telling me this she witnessed me knocking over an old woman and running a chainsaw through her. She was pretty disgusted by the whole thing

Honestly man it is a video game. I don't see what your freaking out about. If you can't take anything in a mild nature then you must be some poor son of a bitch trapped inside of your own little bubble world.

Disturbed316 10-28-2004 02:41 PM

Gameplay posted it today, so it looks like I'm getting it tomorrow

Seriously though. For the people who have the game, Has anyone found any characters that are from the other games? The radiostations all seem to have new DJs and the voice cast only has Ken Rosenberg listed as a character. (Which worries me, because he was a member of the Vercetti gang, and being that he's now on the West Coast, it makes me think that maybe Tommy got killed.

Also, has anyone found Tanner yet? The war between GTA and Driver always seems to make its way into the game somewhere, so I'm wondering where he is.

G 10-28-2004 03:20 PM

LOL @ GODSON

G 10-28-2004 03:22 PM

WTF, has anyone got to the part where you have to drive an oil tanker 142535234114 miles down the road with that guy chasing you. Why do they gotta put the markers so far away from each other. :(

I haven't seen any Driver references, but I did see a bilboard that said something about True Crime.

road doggy dogg 10-28-2004 04:17 PM

ROFL @ GODSON

Pretty sad. I mean, by most people's standards, I'm pretty tight-assed, but I don't find anything wrong with the game at all. It's just a game, that's all it is. If you can't distinguish the game from reality, then you have no business playing. If someone, like you said, in Compton played the game, then thought they were 'hard' because of it, then they have much much bigger problems to worry about than hearing the 'n' word a few times in a video game.

road doggy dogg 10-28-2004 04:19 PM

Oh and yeah, I got ID'd for the game too when I bought it. Kinda surprised me at first, but I must say I was impressed that Zellers actually cared enough to check

So, where does the line draw? Violence is alright, as long it's not too extreme? That doesn't make sense. Either you're for violence, or you're against it.

Head 10-28-2004 05:39 PM

Being sick, evil, racist and irresponsible sure is fun.

Head 10-28-2004 05:40 PM

LOL you think Halo and Metal Gear Solid are okay but this is too violent.

road doggy dogg 10-28-2004 05:43 PM

I can do home invasions at any time now  (well, at night)

I really ought to do more missions, it makes pissing about a lot more fun when you can do more :D

Head 10-28-2004 05:44 PM

Also, Son of God, you also come off as thinking that people like this game soley because of the violence and such.
