ESPN looks so stupid right now with that Bill Simmons suspension.

Innovator 09-25-2014 10:29 AM

They're trying to say he got suspended for going off on ESPN at the end, but I call MALARKEY to that.

Nark Order 09-25-2014 10:38 AM

I'm pretty sure it's because they are in bed with the NFL. People have said far worse. Stephen A. Smith got a one week suspension for saying that Ray Rice's wife deserved to get her head beat in. I am certain that is worse.

Would make sense since he was practically daring them to punish him. Couldn't have been just because he went off on Goodell since the recent Outside the Lines report was way more brutal in their criticism of Goodell and the NFL.

Nark Order 09-25-2014 02:45 PM

My problem is that even the dare was on a podcast, not on the network. It was also on a podcast where they sit around and guess betting lines. Not exactly a huge blow to journalistic integrity. And anybody who has listened to Bill in the past knows he's had way more controversial opinions than that.

Innovator 09-25-2014 02:57 PM

Like Adrian Peterson being on PEDs, Kobe single handedly funding the stem cell/hgh black market

McLegend 09-25-2014 07:58 PM

I totally agree with it being about going off on ESPN.

You can't dare your bosses in public to punish you, because they will punish you.

Nark Order 09-26-2014 10:15 AM

That's being overstated. It was on a podcast. Comparatively, the views for the podcast and the views for the network aren't even close. They are being petty.

Ruien 09-26-2014 11:36 AM

Well, Bill Simmons will be getting extra listeners on his podcast at least.

road doggy dogg 09-26-2014 11:39 AM

Pretty sure he is already their most-listened-to podcast as it is

Nark Order 09-26-2014 11:57 AM

On a semi-unrelated note, how do so many people listen to NPR podcasts? So dry and smug. At least the ones I've listened to.

Ruien 09-26-2014 08:44 PM

NPR?

Droford 09-26-2014 09:33 PM

I put money ($20) on a parlay that includes the Vikings +2.5 vs the Falcons. I've been told sharps are on the Vikings but over 80% of the public is on the Falcons. plus this little tidbit

Quote:

Atlanta is coming off a perfect win. In the first half of the season, teams coming off blowout victories in which they won the turnover battle and led every quarter are a horrific 4-39 against the spread the following week.
I still see no way the Vikings don't get annihilated but its only $20. Maybe Bridgewater will be awesome.

road doggy dogg 09-27-2014 11:48 AM

Maybe I just picked the wrong week to bank on the Falcons letdown game. Tampa again fucks with my money.

McLegend 09-28-2014 01:40 PM

It is so hard to play DB in the NFL.

McLegend 09-28-2014 01:52 PM

It's also ridiculously hard to just play defense in the NFL.

Emperor Smeat 09-28-2014 04:22 PM

Wow at the Steelers. Got shredded on defense those last two plays.

Droford 09-28-2014 04:34 PM

I'm on the #teamteddy bandwagon for the next 2+ hours

TD vikings!

Innovator 09-28-2014 04:38 PM

Uh oh, Eagles actually figured out how to start a game

Droford 09-28-2014 04:41 PM

It sounds like there's a decent number of Eagles fans there too.

Droford 09-28-2014 04:55 PM

Asiatamania is running wild in Minnesota

screech 09-28-2014 05:04 PM

Hey the Ravens won :)

I will take 3-1 after everything that's happened. Big test next week vs the Colts though.

Droford 09-28-2014 05:55 PM

I might have to donate some money to the guy that had the tip about the Vikings/Falcons. I probably would have bet the Falcons and I'd be pissed off right now

McLegend 09-28-2014 07:18 PM

I can live with a 3-1 record.

Droford 09-28-2014 07:24 PM

ttnot a vikings fan..but..sucks that Bridgewater might have broke his ankle

back to the Ponder era in Minnesota

edit xrays negative which is good

McLegend 09-28-2014 07:58 PM

I get the line can't run block for McCoy so it's hard for him to do anything, but can he at least pick up a block to give Foles an extra second to hit an open Celek in the end zone?

SlickyTrickyDamon 09-28-2014 10:57 PM

I really hope that blonde singer didn't wait all day for this game.

SlickyTrickyDamon 09-28-2014 10:58 PM

Jimmy Graham finally decided to play.

#1-norm-fan 09-28-2014 11:30 PM

AAAAAAAND another year of no playoffs.

road doggy dogg 09-29-2014 03:54 PM

On the plus side, the Lions look pretty good right now

Innovator 09-29-2014 04:09 PM

Lions continue their streak of odd injuries with TE Joseph Fauria injuring his ankle after chasing his puppy around the house because it was about to pee on the floor.

"He was about to pee and I was like, 'Come here you little ... nugget,'" Fauria said Monday at his locker with a boot on his left foot and crutches by his side. "And I was chasing him downstairs. Innovator 09-29-2014 10:24 PM

Sooooo are the Pats going to get Brady a receiver ever?

Evil Vito 09-29-2014 11:39 PM

If you had Dennis Allen as the first coach fired this year - you win! Raiders gave him the axe this evening.

Clerk 09-30-2014 07:12 AM

What a sorry excuse Brady is for a QB huh. PLayed horrible and cost them the win. pathetic. Maybe if he can complete a pass they'd have a chance at winning.

And he has receivers edleman and gronk are at the top of the league if not close

ClockShot 09-30-2014 07:46 AM

Yeah. Typical Raiders move.

Call The Cable Guy again. Last good coach they had.

Clerk 09-30-2014 07:58 AM

Raiders need there old QB Russel only way they'll win
