Everything Ive seen in the preseason leads me to believe that they are no worse than a 10 win team, and probably at least 12 wins..so they should at least make the playoffs for the 3rd straight year with Harbaugh/Flacco even if its as a wild card again, though I cant see Cincy or Pittsburgh winning more than 10 games.

The biggest issue I have with them getting to the Super Bowl is that one of the big 3 contenders (alongside the Ravens and Patriots) in the AFC is Indy and the Ravens haven't shown an ability to play with the Colts on the same level.

Its kinda funny that the way things are playing out, I was like 90% spot on with my analysis there. Ravens are likely a 12 win team, The Bengals flat out suck and the Steelers have 10 wins though and will probably end up with 12. The game today wasn't as tough as I thought it would be coming off the poor job they did in Houston but it was still probably the best win they've had all year. Ravens are a lock to make the playoffs as a wild card at a minimum and will probably face the fucking Colts. At least I didnt know back in September that the Colts would at best be a 10-6 team with a lot of injuries but I still don't like the fact the Ravens will probably have to go to Indy and face the Colts.

Team Sheep 12-19-2010 08:28 PM

Yes! That's more fucking like it.

Skippord 12-19-2010 08:32 PM

Pretty optimistic about this game, Tebow played better than I expected and I think they would have had a chance to win if they let him throw it more.

Johnny Vegas 12-19-2010 08:45 PM

Do you know how much $$$ the NFL can make if Vick makes it to the Super Bowl? The publicity, the excitement, the story, etc. That is Hogan/Andre big right there. Bet it will be the most watched, and grossing SuperBowl of all time.

Droford 12-19-2010 10:33 PM

Any team from the AFC in the playoffs (Pats/Steelers/Colts or Jaguars/Chiefs or Chargers/Jets/Ravens) could beat the Eagles.

Innovator 12-19-2010 10:34 PM

I don't know which was worse, today or the collapse in San Francisco.

Dodge should be fired tomorrow. Not only did he kick a line drive short kick to the best return guy in the league, but he ran straight at him to cover.

It's ridiculous that I called the onsides while sitting their watching the game with some family, but the special teams coordinator doesn't see it coming.

Fuck.

Was expecting to come in here and see people saying that the completely blatant non-call PI on the Jets was a make-up for the 9 yard first down.

Glad to see that didn't happen.

McLegend 12-19-2010 10:47 PM

Especially since the Eagles rolled the Jags earlier this year. I don't care what droford says however.

This Sunday night game is reminding me of the AJ Feely vs the defeated pats in 07 game right now

Bob Costas just said the Eagles once booed Santa Claus. Great fans McLegend. you booed the biggest gift giver in the history of the world

During the post game press conference Coughlin stated that they had suspected the Eagles might try an onside kick, yet they didn't put the hands team out there. :|

I can't even be mad at Dodge for the punt. I'm more upset with the fact that for 3 and a half quarters, the Giants handled Vick and put points on the board on offense, then disappeared for half a quarter, just enough to piss the game away. I'll give the Eagles credit for making the plays down the stretch, don't get me wrong, but I just can't understand how the Giants let the game go that way.

So anyone who booed Santa that day is either old and grey or dead. It was during halftime after whoever was the opposing the team just ran a kickoff back before the half. Also the week prior they had just lost out on a chance on getting OJ Simpson.

Also the Santa Claus was drunk and terrible.

Heres my thinking behind saying the Chiefs and Jags can beat the Eagles in the Super Bowl:

If either of them make it, they will have gone through some combination of the Patriots/Steelers/Ravens/Jets and possibly the Chargers or Colts, all on the road by the way, to get there. If they do that, they can beat the Eagles.

They let the game go, because Michael Vick is the man.

Was a pretty big choke though

Im fairly surprised the Packers are manhandling the Patriots.

I wonder if the Patriots were overlooking them without Rodgers..

GB has a pretty good rushing ability which has been something the young defense has been shaky against this season but definitely the defense took the Packers offense too lightly.

What were the dates when Michael Irvin and Austin Collie got cheered/booed off the field for having life threatening injuries?

Philidelphia has the worst fans.

See Costas could have brought these up, but he was a little lazy in his research.

Also the Michael Irvin thing. Pretty sure they were booing Deion Sanders doing some sort of healing dance around Irvin. Not 100% sure about that though.

I've all ready explained the Collie thing so there's that.

RoXer 12-20-2010 12:47 AM

No , they were cheering because he was injured and booing Collie as he was being carted off the field.

You cannot defend anything about this.

McLegend 12-20-2010 12:48 AM

No they weren't(about Collie)

They were booing the bad call that it was.

McLegend 12-20-2010 12:49 AM

I can easily defend it. I mostly don't care about anti-Philadelphia attacks, because it happens so much I've become numb to them.

It doesn't matter

RoXer 12-20-2010 12:51 AM

They were booing the call AS he was being carted off the feild? We've been through this McLegend when it happened. The fact that you're even trying to defend this show that Philidelphia has the worst fans.

Johnny Vegas 12-20-2010 12:52 AM

Enough of bashing the Philly fans!

McLegend 12-20-2010 12:53 AM

They still were still booing the call. It was a little tasteful sure. They weren't booing because he was being carted off. Or because he was hurt.

But whatever you want to think Roxer is fine with me. I'm sorry it gets you upset.

I still can't believe that game....

Evil Vito 12-20-2010 02:26 AM

I'm honestly having trouble sleeping from that game. I so badly want them to win next week so they can get in the playoffs and not have to go through yet another collapse.

Think Coughlin is gone if they don't make the playoffs. It's a shame his coordinators are inept.

Supreme Olajuwon 12-20-2010 02:33 AM

Philly fans were classless because the the anger about an iffy call should be secondary to concern about a guy who could be seriously hurt. That's all there is. There's no debate about it. If there's a guy unconscious and possibly paralyzed on the field and you only care about a call on the previous play, you're classless. That's where the argument starts and ends.

Supreme Olajuwon 12-20-2010 02:34 AM

Besides, we should all be much more concerned about Big Vito and how seriously he takes sports. CHILL OUT VITO. IT'S NOT WERTH IT.

Evil Vito 12-20-2010 02:37 AM

It's also widely known that Eagles fans treat opposing fans like shit. Every game they start fights with people doing nothing more than rooting for their team, and usually the fans not involved will tell security to kick out the away fan who didn't even start it. They really don't deserve as good of a team as they have.

Evil Vito 12-20-2010 02:42 AM

Also, fuck DeSean Jackson. Great player but these celebrations going into the endzone are infuriating. He ran along the endzone for no reason. There's a bigass clock on the wall behind the endzone so you can't even make the excuse that he wanted to ensure time had expired. He just wanted to be a little cocksucker about it.

Its already cost him once in his career, but its bound to happen again. Or somebody is gonna take a shot at him.

I think Manningham's fumble has to be the turning point of the game. Was totally preventable too.

Once the onside kick happened, despite the 14 point lead that's the point when I said "we're fucked".

In a way I'm glad it didn't go to OT because there's a 0% chance the Eagles weren't gonna score on the first chance they had the ball.

NFL fines Panthers Tyler Brayton $15,000 but no suspension for blindside hit (elbow) to a Falcons player in the back of the head during a punt by Falcons last week.

Supposedly, the Falcons player was pushed out of bounds and kept being pushed along the sidelines by the Panthers defense player until Brayton comes from the bench to elbow the player in the back of the head.

The fine was only announced Friday and done quietly since the Alosi incident was the bigger issue for the NFL that week which is why nobody noticed until Fox Sports found the video tape of the incident.

Sure thing. But how strong is it really? Do you know that I’ve never seen your foot? And I mean your bare foot. I bet it’s very muscular, isn’t it? And I bet it’s all glistening with sweat, too. Isn’t it?

Nick Folk
Sure, I suppose. I mean, as feet go, it’s probably more muscular than most.

Rex Ryan
Oh, baby. Nick, can you take your shoes off for me right now? Socks, too.

Nick Folk
Okay.

[He removes his shoes and socks.]

Rex Ryan
Ohmigod. Ohmigod. They’re so hot.

Nick Folk
Uh, thanks. But, coach? Umm … I don’t know how to say this, but your erection is kind of bothering me.

Rex Ryan
It’s an erect penis, son. I’m wearing sweatpants. There’s nowhere else for it to go. We’re men here, Nick. We’re a team of men. If you have a problem with penises, then you don’t belong on this team.

Nick Folk
No, no, no. I’m not saying that. Just … never mind.

Rex Ryan
Good then. Okay, so I’m now going to rub my penis along the base of your
toes until I achieve orgasm.

Nick Folk
What?! No! What the hell, man? No way! You’re a freaking weirdo.

Rex Ryan
I am not a weirdo. This is a personal issue.

Nick Folk
Okay. Just … whatever. I’m going to leave now. What did you call me over here for anyway?

Rex Ryan
I wondered if you had ever considered kicking barefoot.

Nick Folk
I tried that once. I didn’t like it.

Rex Ryan
And I also wanted to have sex with your feet.

Nick Folk
Yeah. I know. I’m going to leave now.

Rex Ryan
Okay, can you just call Mark over for me?

Nick Folk
Sure.

[He walks away towards Mark Sanchez.]

Nick Folk
Hey, Mark. Coach wants to see you.

Mark Sanchez
Okay. I’ll be right there. Did he say what he wants?

Nick Folk
No.

Mark Sanchez
He probably just wants to have sex with my feet again. I guess I better take my shoes off.

Steelers need to completely destroy the Panthers early and get their starters out for rest. If PIT wins tonight and CLE beats BAL on Sunday, there's nothing for PIT to play for next week and then can rest their hurting guys even more.

Droford 12-23-2010 09:15 PM

but if the Steelers get beat tonight, the Ravens can beat the Browns on sunday and get a bye/home game in the playoffs.

Huge panthers fan for the next 210 minutes!

Sidenote:

I SO wish that Leonard Weaver wasn't injured. Our running game would be bananas. We need to score better in the redzone and who could help with that?

OssMan 12-24-2010 07:13 PM
