Not so fast.

He has 69 yards passing 1/2 through the 3rd quarter

Also Colts ball

Cribbs doesn't like calling Fair Catches I guess. Still wouldn't matter he was pushed into him by the defender. Not a penalty anyways even with the FC.

Colts are morons passing all downs up 8 in the 4th

SlickyTrickyDamon 01-11-2015 07:27 PM

Harder to drive down the field with runs. They got what they wanted with the 3 points and the time off the clock.

I was refering to the drive before right after the brocos got their fg when they had 3 incomplete passes and took no time off the clock

CJ anderson almost bails out Manning on 4th down and thats the ballgame

Another one and done

Joe Flacco won a Super Bowl and hes never one and doned in the playoffs.
In fact he still has 1 fewer playoff win in 7 years (10) than Manning in his 15 years and the same number of rings.

Requiem 01-11-2015 07:56 PM

Fuck it, O-line was spectacular too. Protected Luck for the first time all season.

Offensive line as well since they did a great job protecting Luck. No sacks allowed and gave him plenty of time for several big plays.

Flacco's also kinda shit in the regular season and a big reason his team missed the playoffs last year and needed help from another team to get in this year.

When was the last time Peyton didn't make the playoffs or even needed someone to lose to get in? Even with some of those teams not being terribly talented especially on the defensive side of the ball?

He's also won a few AFC Championship games, which are pretty big too. It's basically what people do when they've decided they wanna hate a QB and they'll stop at nothing to convince themselves he's garbage. The fact that Peyton HAS won big games though, makes it even more silly.

road doggy dogg 01-11-2015 08:07 PM

Just dropped a "hefty sum" on a teaser bet for next week... Packers +16.5 and Colts +14

Hope I don't punch myself in the ballsaq` for that

Evil Vito 01-11-2015 08:10 PM

I always thought that Peyton would finish the last 2 years of his contract. But something clearly happened to him late in the year. And now Gase and possibly Fox leaving. I don't see him going through a new coach and coordinator just to play one more year.

Really shit way to go out if that was it.

Nark Order 01-11-2015 08:13 PM

He isn't garbage. He's the best regular season quarterback ever. He is somewhat inconsistent in high stakes games, is all.

Emperor Smeat 01-11-2015 08:32 PM

Peyton's problem is having way too many "one and done's" and having the bulk being at home. He has a couple of big game wins but too few for someone of his status in the GOAT talk.

9 "one and done" losses (next closest is 4) and 6 playoff home losses (next closet is 3).

That and he's like a Bizzaro Flacco when it comes to playoff records. Flacco has a lot of road playoff wins while Peyton has a lot of home playoff losses.

#1-norm-fan 01-11-2015 08:46 PM

It just seems funny to me that it's such a knock on him by his haters. If he doesn't make the playoffs at all those 9 years, or even half of them, I don't think he gets the same flack. Despite it being a much worse thing to do. It doesn't make sense.

Like I said, I'll take the guy who HAS shown he can win big games but also loses a lot because he's so fucking good in the regular season that he has a shitload of opportunities over the guy who has won a higher percentage of playoff games but struggles to make the playoffs in order to play the big games to begin with. And also struggles to get a bye when he does get there while the other usually gets to skip the wild card round. And again, that's not even factoring in that the second guy who struggles in the regular season has had much better teams surrounding him than the other one did for most of those one and dones.

He has his shortcomings. He just does. Pointing them out doesn't make one a hater. Really all of his flaws are only relevant in a "best of all time" conversation anyhow. He's one of the best QBs ever but in the "who is the greatest ever?" discussion, things like playoff wins and SB wins matter.

#1-norm-fan 01-12-2015 04:02 AM

I agree. To an extent at least. You still have to factor in the teams surrounding him. Dan Marino belongs in that conversation regardless of his lack of rings. But when someone tries to argue someone who isn't remotely in the ballpark of a Peyton Manning as far as just playing the QB position like a fucking beast simply because they have as many or more rings or playoff wins, it's a joke. There are guys who make teams a contender on a yearly basis and there are guys who piggyback, and even then, fail at times.

The 2011 Colts season alone and how it compares to the previous 10 years should be enough to tell you Peyton Manning is a fucking God who belongs in a discussion only with the greatest QBs of all time.

No one really wants that job if Manning isnt the QB. They arent winning squat with Osweiler

How well did they do in non-divisional play?

RP 01-13-2015 12:00 AM

I was in the camp of " Manning isn't done" , but now that Fox its bailing, I don't know.

I told all my friends this last week that the Colts had a serious shot because Peyton was hurt and the only reason I knew he was hurt was because he missed two practices. Peyton wouldn't miss a practice for nothing. This guy held a press conference denouncing the decision to cut training camp practices a few years ago. The moment I heard Peyton missed two practices, I knew he was legit hurt. Any real Colt fan could of told you that.

Droford 01-13-2015 12:29 AM

I dont see how Manning would come back for another season having to both rehab the torn quad and learn everything new under a new coaching staff. The only reason would be for a farewell tour but i think Manning is one of the few that wouldn't have a problem going out without the hoopla.

Maybe Denver goes after Eli Manning in 2016 free agency.

Only logical thing to do is to promote Adam Gase or Jack Del Rio to head coach. That would mean no major changes on either side of the ball. However, with Adam Gase getting some interviews, we may very well be looking for another Offensive Coordinator for the 2nd year in a row.

As far as Manning and the QB issue is concerned, unless the front office got a lot of faith in BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRROCK OS-WEILER, we may very well grab another QB down the road in the draft. Problem with that is, there ain't a lot of lookers in this year's class after Winston and (if he declares) Mariota.

Evil Vito 01-13-2015 09:34 AM

Adam Gase strikes me as someone who is going to bust as a head coach. Probably because it doesn't exactly take an Einstein to be the offensive coordinator on a Peyton Manning-led team.

Jason Garrett is about to get a 5 year deal to stay with the Cowboys

Emperor Smeat 01-13-2015 06:09 PM

5 years, around $30 million. If he lasts for the whole deal, becomes 2nd longest tenured coach in Cowboys history.

#1-norm-fan 01-13-2015 06:30 PM

I was as critical of Garrett as anyone and wanted him gone last year but taking play calling duties away from him seemed to do wonders. Suddenly they were coming in looking prepared week in, week out which was the biggest issue before. I'd like to see that kind of discipline continue through another year though to make sure it's not a mirage.

Hopefully Marinelli comes back, too. What he did with such an under-talented, insanely injury-riddled defense to at least make them average and come through in big moments when the offense needed it was amazing. If Sean Lee can actually make it through the season and they can get a little more talent on that side of the ball, they can be great.

Wish they got Dan Quinn, seemed way more interesting as a "character"/personality for Jets coach... they are saying he was their #1 choice but they didn't want to wait until possibly February and have their backup choices be hired away by then... but every1 is saying Bowles is "good" also so w/e I guess... seems boring though
