Shits shit indeed.

Lock Jaw 06-16-2014 02:06 AM

Pretty brutal battle between Brienne and The Hound tonight as well.

Pretty sure it is him in the prologue of book 4 at the Citadel where Sam is now at.

Hmm that had never occurred to me. Good catch.

One thing about the ending,

Book Spoiler
SPOILER: show
I didn't like that the reveal about Tysha, Tyrion's first wife was left out. I mean, I can understand it, I guess. He did mention it on the show, but it was so many seasons ago that the tv viewers probably don't remember/care anymore.

If I recall correctly, though, Jamie reveals to him his role in it, and that it was a lie that Tysha was a whore... which is what sets him off. Feels like a much more powerful motivator, and he is also left hating Jamie.

Heisenberg 06-16-2014 02:32 AM

Kept my mouth shut all week about the harsh events that would come on an airing of GoT: Father's Day edition

Lock Jaw 06-16-2014 02:35 AM

Ha ha, didn't even realize the irony of this airing on Father's Day.

SlickyTrickyDamon 06-16-2014 04:50 AM

How long have they planned to have that episode on Father's Day?

Haven't seen the episode yet, but wow. That's kind of his whole motivation for doing it.

Jura 06-16-2014 06:57 AM

Brienne is what 3-0 now? Loras, Jamie and the Hound.

Innovator 06-16-2014 08:08 AM

Brienne ain't nothing to fuck with

Innovator 06-16-2014 08:08 AM

Reading the reactions to the different subreddits (/r/asoiaf and /r/gameofthrones) is fantastic

Heisenberg 06-16-2014 10:46 AM

I thought Davos was going to get all up in Jon Snow's piss for not bowing to Stannis, I'm glad Stannis didn't belittle Snow.

Innovator 06-16-2014 11:03 AM

You know Jon was looking at Melisandre thinking "Redhead. Awesome."

Heisenberg 06-16-2014 11:16 AM

Castle Black Boner

Boner Beyond the Wall

Hanso Amore 06-16-2014 11:19 AM

Was really hoping that when the hound was at the cliff edge that briene was going to break out a Texas Tornado Discus punch. Then the hound would sell it like Mr Perfect over the cliff.

RoXer 06-16-2014 01:29 PM

BAH GAWD

KING!

THAT'S STANNIS BARATHEON'S MUSIC!!!!!

Hanso Amore 06-16-2014 01:50 PM

THROUGH HELL FIRE AND RHYLORS LIGHT, STANNIS IS COMING FOR (MC)MANCE

Corporate CockSnogger 06-16-2014 06:04 PM

That was sweet. Some really bad cgi though.

KIRA 06-16-2014 07:52 PM

killing a man while hes on the thunder bucket dirty pool

You couldve at least let him finish and stand up to die properly

Corporate CockSnogger 06-16-2014 07:54 PM

With the hound and Tywin dead now, I think I'm down to 4 characters I like.

Not certain the hound is dead.

ClockShot 06-16-2014 09:16 PM

Was totally hoping Shae would start talking when the camera panned slowly to her face after Dinklage choked her out.

Would have hit the floor laughing.

Sixx 06-17-2014 01:11 PM

Finally gave in and started watching this. Finishing season one now.

Drogo is pretty black metal.

XL 06-17-2014 05:21 PM

So, the Shae-Tywin thing, are we suppose to read it that they got together after all the stuff with Tyrion or are we suppose to work out that Tywin has been fucking with Tyrion from the very beginning like he did with his wife?

Hanso Amore 06-17-2014 05:43 PM

we are to read she is a whore, who betrayed him and got with her father.

Requiem 06-17-2014 06:34 PM

There are a few possibilities.

One, is that Tywin is a total and complete hypocrite, who scorns his son for whoring while bedding them himself. It shows that he is just like any other man in Westeros - he has desires just like any man, and he shits, just like every other person in Westeros.

The other, is that Varys planned the whole thing. He waited until Tywin went to use the latrine, then put Shae in his bed with the necklace of the hand around her neck, for Tyrion to find. Then he gets Jaime to let him out and lead him past the area in a way that Tyrion would know exactly where he is. This would make it look as if Tywin were a hypocrite and would just look worse after the deed was done. It would also give Tyrion some much needed vengeance because only Varys knows where Tyrion is going, which is obviously far away from here.

There's also the possibility that it was a combination of these of course, Varys planned the whole thing, minus setting Shae up. It could have been Tywin's own hypocrisy that was his undoing here, while Varys at least made the connections so that it could happen under Tyrion's own will.

SlickyTrickyDamon 06-18-2014 01:44 AM

I read the killing of Shae in the books to be more like straight up murder than self-defense in an attack.

Requiem 06-18-2014 03:47 AM

Oh, it definitely was. In the books, she tries to talk her way out of it, and it infuriates him even more.

Lock Jaw 06-18-2014 10:40 AM

I feel like that gif should have that little kid who killed Ygritte nodding at the end, not Stannis.

Sixx 06-18-2014 10:49 AM

The hell is going on in that gif?

Looks like a skeleton stepping on landmines.

Heisenberg 06-18-2014 11:00 AM

Ser Paul Davos: My Highness, Stannis Baratheon, conquered the wildling's streak. Do you know who you're talking to boyee????? //Puts on shades// **Too Cool theme** shift left, shift right, Rikishi dance, Rikishi dance. Cut my music, I can't read that well

XL 06-18-2014 02:07 PM

The whole scene with the skeletons coming up through the snow was very reminiscent of a Zelda game.

Triple A 06-18-2014 02:18 PM

that whole scene was some harry potter sh*t..

Triple A 06-18-2014 02:19 PM

was cool though...

Heisenberg 06-18-2014 02:41 PM

Jojen looked like Adam Banks from The Mighty Ducks, thought he was playing for the other team the whole time.

Requiem 06-18-2014 02:54 PM

Kind of curious what everyone thought about that scene. I don't remember it very well from the books, but I don't recall it happening with so much flair and 'fantasy' elements. Any book readers care to catch me up on how that scene compares?

XL 06-18-2014 06:07 PM

I'd almost be inclined to say it was "too far into fantasy" but in a series that's had dragons, giants, ice zombies and shadow monsters I guess it's par for the course.
