Buff Bagwell hasn't shown up for Fall Brawl to face Berlyn, so he was replaced with Hacksaw Jim Duggan, who hasn't been seen in 1999 yet :'(

#BROKEN Hasney 03-05-2011 03:21 PM

Duggan defo deserves his HoF spot. Not the most talented guy ever, but damn, he can work a crowd and doesn't mind making someone else look good.

Xero 03-05-2011 03:47 PM

From PWInsider:

Here are some more items from Hulk Hogan's twitter about Bret Hart. Somebody asked him why didn't WCW promote a major PPV match between the two. His response: "he was coming off a stroke and we were all concerned about his health.we had some house matches that were really fun and bret even stayed at my house,my kids loved him."

He also wrote the following about Owen Hart: "Owen was really cool, several times he came to me representing the Hart family apologizing for brets actions."

When someone asked him why he was saying that when Owen was not here to back that statement up, he wrote: "it all started when Bret spoke for John Grazino"

He looked good/'legit' with the right guys as well, HBK made him look like a beast by bumping all over the gaffe for him for 15 minutes on RAW in like 1993.

Awesome. He seems like a genuinely nice guy too.

Just seen a great match between Benoit and Sid. Benoit worked the legs, even putting his leb between the post and steps and dropkicked it.

Benoit then locked on the crossface int the middle of the ring, but Sid stood up with it still locked in and managed to fall to the ropes.

After seeing the tweet war, was kinda weird to see Bret Hart come out before the Hogan/Sting match purely to give Hogan a hug and leave again.

Maybe he has inside info and Jericho is attempting to hold down a long term relationship with Billy Kidman.

VSG 03-05-2011 05:13 PM

I was talking about Torrie getting pissed off when her appeal to get WWE fans behind her on that "I am a celeb, get me outta here" show did not work.

Are these two statements related? Because Duggan completely no sold Berlyn the entire match.

VSG 03-05-2011 05:18 PM

Ok I dont want to make a separate thread for this, so I am hoping enough non-mutants visit in here to help me out. I am going to the smackdown tapings on Tuesday and the event (http://www.houstontoyotacenter.com/e...event_1115.php) webpage says it begins at 6:30 pm. Now I know Superstars tapes before hand and NXT season 5 is scheduled to begin the same day as well and so I was wondering if NXT is "free" for the guys with tickets for smackdown tapings and if so, does the scheduled start time include it?

Pretty psyched at the main event, dark match though it may be. Never expected to see HHH and John Cena.

Here's a little story for you all about what happened to me last night. It's nothing amazing but I thought I'd share.

I decided to go out for a few drinks with friends and we all went to a place that's just for students, and a few hours into the night, when the majority of people were drunk by then, some guy comes out of nowhere and starts chanting "Y2J!" to me, and then proceeds to motion for a high five, so I give him a high five. He then comments on my Fozzy T-Shirt I was wearing and he says "I'm a wrestling fan too!". He then opens his shirt to reveal a Nexus T-Shirt, the one with the big N on it.

Then we get talking and he then starts to tell me that he went to WrestleMania XXIV, XXV and XXVI and that he's going to WrestleMania XXVII. He then asks me who I think will win between Triple H and The Undertaker and who I think the special guest referee will be for Lawler vs Cole. Then later he says that there shouldn't be a John Cena vs The Miz match but instead, that there should be John Cena vs The Rock and after The Rock wins, he should go on to face The Miz for the WWE Championship and then win that match.

After that, he kept impersonating The Rock, but then he said goodbye to me and told me that he'd see me at WrestleMania XXX, as I told him that I'm hoping to go then.

But later, another guy who I didn't know at all, kept pointing to my T-Shirt and shouting "FOZZY!" at me. He then came over to me, shook my hand and hugged me and said in my ear "I won't be your Martyr anymore." and walked away.

That being him quoting Fozzy's song, Martyr No More.

So yeah, it was a very weird night for me as I never get random wrestling fans coming up to me and talking to me about wrestling. But I have to say, drunk wrestling fans are crazy.

CSL 03-05-2011 05:32 PM

They can be a bit ridiculous, I just tend to nod and agree my way through most 'conversations'. I remember some mong coming up to me in a club and explaining for about 20 minutes why backyard wrestling should be more respected than pro-wrestling, explaining how tough he and his backyard buddies were and why he didn't like Bret Hart. Was brutal.

Lock Jaw 03-05-2011 05:35 PM

Reminds me of this one time was wearing an nWo Wolfpack shirt to the movies. This was back in their heyday.

This dude just came up to me, without saying a word, threw up the Wolfpack sign, pointed to my shirt, pointed to his hand, pointed to my shirt, pointed to his hand.... So I hesitantly give him the Wolfpack sign back and we bump fingers, and he leaves, still without saying a word.

Some people who thought they were out of earshot were like "What was that all about?"-"I dunno. Some gang thing, I think".

VSG 03-05-2011 05:35 PM

Great help, guys :n:

Lock Jaw 03-05-2011 05:37 PM

NXT is indeed included in your ticket, don't know about the start time.

Juan 03-05-2011 05:38 PM

Your ticket is for everything that is being taped that night.

CSL 03-05-2011 05:38 PM

NXT is taped before Smackdown. If you're going to see Smackdown and there is an NXT scheduled, you'll see that as well.

VSG 03-05-2011 05:41 PM

Great help, guys :y:

Yeah I did that last night. I just agreed with what he said and just always told him how great his ideas were for WrestleMania XXVII.

LOL that was awesome.

Guy at the end worries me a bit. He hugs you, and as he hugs you, whispers in your ear "I won't be your Martyr anymore"...

...yeah...stay away from him if you ever see him again.

I've been a fan of Batista for a while and I have Batista Bombed threads and profile pages for the past couple of years. It is not a recent fascination.

Someone to link me to some Cody Rhodes segments from the past few weeks. I hear they have been "good", but I am too lazy to search for them myself.

These are from WWE's website (WWE doesn't have an embed code for their links).

Former WCW Champion Involved In Serious Car Accident
by Matt Boone
Mar 05, 2011

The following is a new article from TMZ.com:
David Arquette in Head-On Car Accident
3/4/2011 2:13 PM PST by TMZ Staff
David Arquette was just involved in a head-on collision and he's injured ... TMZ has learned.
David was driving in West Hollywood just a few minutes ago ... when his car veered into oncoming traffic.
David is lying on the ground right now -- bleeding -- as fire trucks are racing to the scene.
A witness tells TMZ ... David was behind a car that stopped suddenly. David then swerved to the left to avoid hitting the car and went into oncoming traffic. David slammed into a car going in the opposite direction.
David was driving a silver Cadillac.
We're told David was on his way to Burbank airport to board a private jet which was going to Las Vegas, for the grand opening of Sugar Factory -- a candy store at the Paris Hotel. He was supposed to attend a party hosted by Kim Kardashian.
UPDATE: He's being taken away by ambulance right now.
UPDATE 3:13 PM PT: Authorities now say the drivers of both vehicles suffered minor to moderate injuries.
Story developing ...

Xero 03-06-2011 01:59 AM

It was no where near as bad as the car wreck that was his WCW title win.
