Game of Thrones seems to attract people to it that aren't really fans of the subject, but just want to know what's happening before everyone else.

Well they could read the books and be somewhat ahead.

Yeah, already watched them. Good stuff. Now I have to wait a month for a new episode. :(

Also, the amount of deviation from the books this time round is quite high.

They have to try to make something out of books that are leading to something big. Seems like book 4 and 5 were just waiting for things to happen than stuff actually happening. 1 or 2 seasons of television waiting for something to happen isn't going to cut it when it's only 10 episodes a year.

Kinda thought that about book 4, except for a couple characters that were doing a lot of shit. But Book 5 was a lot of shit happening. I need to reread book 5 honestly, because I forgot some of the things that happened but a friend who has read them all more times than me was reminding me of all these things that happen in it, and I was like 'daaaaaamn' and we were listening to the audiobooks while driving a couple times and I was hearing all this shit I didn't remember. Some big things happen in book 5.

I expected the TV show to go ahead with the story, and I am sure they will too. The deviations to this extent were not expected, which isn't a complaint necessarily. Two versions of the story is cool to have.

I also notice Cercie is starting to drink ALOT shes doing the very things she chided her late husband for interesting.....

Why is it that in most movies/books that when someone is about to be burned alive, someone swoops for the mercy kill?

Because being burned alive is an unbelievably fucked up way to die even in the most brutal settings.

Indeed. Jerome from Robson and Jerome is easily the best character on the show.

That was boring. I think I've zoned out on every character they've introduced since about mid way through season 2. No idea what's even going on.

That is part of the reason why I am glad Bronn is back.... One of the "classic" likeable characters on the show....

With The Hound gone, really needed another guy "you actually care about" on the show.

But yeah, probably only got brought back to be killed in grisly fashion, though.

First 2 episodes were "ok," I feel. "Setup" episodes... episode 3 was cool though
