Pretty handy to pick out the storyline based matches.

<font color=goldenrod>I know you can't interfere, but can you actually change the participants in Remarkable matches?</font> :o

Give it an hour and I'll find out. 360 is freezing a little bit, probably due to being on for hours in the double figures.

That's a pity but I have it an mp3 version of it so no worries.

#BROKEN Hasney 11-20-2011 11:53 AM

Not actually sure if it was the 360 freezing, or the fact that Chavo was about to win the WCW title live on Nitro in Universe mode and it freaked out.

<font color=goldenrod>Sounds like what my 360 is about to be going through once I get this. :shifty:

Hopefully the answer is yes...since not being able to change Remarkable match participants would be just as bad as not being able to change title match participants.</font> :o

#BROKEN Hasney 11-20-2011 11:58 AM

Just quickly done it and you can. It'll ask if you just want to change participants, or customize freely.

Not sure why, but the game only freezes if I interfere. Fine otherwise.

XCaliber 11-20-2011 02:30 PM

With customization like this I may have several CAWs this year.

Jay Dark. The NXT Random Name Generator strikes again.

LoDownM 11-20-2011 02:34 PM

From videos it looks like this doesn't have a loading screen for every single thing you do.

XCaliber 11-20-2011 02:41 PM

Now I've switched my pre-order to Best Buy since it said on my order on Amazon said it wouldn't till at least December 1st which I heard was due to low supply plus it was $5 cheaper so either way I win.

 didn't even notice until someone else posted what Booker T looked like in older games.

It kind of does, it just hides it better, like on the Vs. screen or during a show, a pre-rendered video of the crowd rather than an actual loading screen. It kind of works, despite only being a placebo.

Shame Booker looks like a cheap CAW.

Xero 11-20-2011 02:49 PM

lol at Booker.

Xero 11-20-2011 02:54 PM

Watching a Punk vs. Del Rio match on YouTube. So glad the obnoxious boos are gone. Seemed like it was the only thing you could hear from the crowd last year if you had a heel in the match.

His Impact model looks fantastic then again that game had a very limited roster by comparison and I've heard the game itself was rather awful.

Xero 11-20-2011 02:57 PM

I recently heard that Impact was going to be better, but they cut the budget half way through development so they had to rush the final product out. But yeah, I've heard it's pretty terrible, despite being graphically impressive.

DAMN iNATOR 11-20-2011 02:58 PM

Best IGN.com review score since SvR '06, which surprisingly is more highly rated than WWE SmackDown!: Here Comes The Pain. SvR '06 has the highest score in the series to date from them, recieving a 9.2/10. HCTP was a close second at 9.1/10.

It's only "surprising" if you don't realise that scores were never meant to be compared and is just to express the reviewers thoughts in a numerical way at that moment in time.

It's not your fault, the industry puts too much stock in them as well.

#BROKEN Hasney 11-20-2011 03:04 PM

Keep getting camera cuts that just put the camera in the crowd and I can't see the ring until someone does a move. Only seems to happen in Universe.

Evil Vito 11-20-2011 03:06 PM

<font color=goldenrod>lol wow. didn't realize Booker looked that terrible in the game. Overall the graphics appear to be identical to last year, which is fine because they are still really good.

The AI seems way better based on some CPU vs. CPU matches I've seen. You'll still see some weird things, namely guys winning after the most basic of moves because the CPU knows when the opponent is totally worn out and won't kick out. But overall running a sim fed should be way more fun this year.</font>

It's nice too see that it received such a great rating but IGN has given high ratings like that to very average WWE games like the RAW series on XBox they received a 9.1 each so with that said I'm really interested to see how the other major gaming sites rate it to me No Mercy is still the best of it's time.

That sounds much better then SvR11. Atleast I won't have to see the loading screen of The Miz saying he's 1-0 at Wrestlemania a hundred thousand times.

Xero 11-20-2011 03:09 PM

Just saw a video with Cody without the mask (Dashing tights). Guess it's an alt attire. I'm all for that for a "current" Cody.

#BROKEN Hasney 11-20-2011 03:10 PM

Yeah, it's an alt, complete with music.

XCaliber 11-20-2011 03:17 PM

Speaking of Cody I hope they release his new theme on iTunes soon.

Well, that goes without saying. I was simply trying to state facts, although my expression of surprise at 2 different review scores I'm sure doesn't help bolster that assertion. :-\

PorkSoda 11-20-2011 03:42 PM

How are the interrupting moves? Can you interrupt Rey doing the 619

jcmoorehead 11-20-2011 03:45 PM

Just been playing a few hours of this after getting my review copy yesterday. Enjoying what I've played so far but barely scratched the surface of the creation options or the Universe mode.

Will admit I'm finding it a bit tricky to get used to the right timing as far as reversals go but getting there. As it is the matches flow quite well and I like this whole limb targeting system.

Evil Vito 11-20-2011 03:47 PM

<font color=goldenrod>Gonna try to rebuild a proper tag team division so that I can eventually use the 2 separate tag belts instead of needing to use the annoying WWE/World Tag Team title workaround glitch.

Air Boom, Awesome Truth, Otungicutty (since they're together at the start of the game anyway). From there I'll probably throw together some random low carders I wouldn't otherwise do much with. William Regal/Yoshi Tatsu to channel the old Tajiri days. Heath Slater/Husky Harris in a Southern tag team. Once CAWs are out for the rest of the roster I'll be able to add in The Usos, Hawkins/Reks, Hunico/Epico/Primo, etc.</font>

Kinda why I miss the old EGM magazine. Sequels were always reviewed with earlier entries in the series in mind.

They don't take the interrupting move properly and just kind of stumble, it's not great.

Not sure about those moves with a run can be interrupted yet, not tried, but the 619 is a weird special without teleporting. You can either get them groggy on the ropes and then push a button into the 619 postition before performing the special, or when you have a finisher, hurricanrana moves aimed at the ropes will get them in the 619 position.

Yeah, I've separated the tag and divas titles, might have one diva title again though.

As for tags and stables, I've got Air Boom, Awesome Truth, Santino & Kozlov, The United Kingdom (Hasney, Sheamus, Drew, Wade & Regal) and Otungicutty on Raw.

Then on WCW, I have LOD, nWo (Nash, Booker, DiBiase, Goldust & Big Show), Filthy Animals (Eddie, Chavo, Rey & Sin Cara) and the New 4 Horseman (Cody, Dolph, HHH, Daniel Bryan with Arn as a 5th like he was on the last version of them in WCW).

Also got rid of the IC title for the Euopean belt :shifty:

PorkSoda 11-20-2011 04:16 PM

So do you recommend this, Hasney?

My biggest fear is when I pop the game into my gaming system, which is XBOX 360, is the style of gaming the same as last year? Like is it going to feel like I'm playing 2011 with new features and new animations or does it feel brand new?

Also, how is WWE Universe?

And is Create A Finisher in?

<font color=goldenrod>Nice. I've read that you can actually deactivate all of the divas and the game won't book them. I'll probably wind up doing that since the divas roster is so small. I'll bring them back when the DLC is out and I can then use Kharma to massacre everybody.</font>

It plays pretty much the same, but Universe is a lot more coherent and fun. CAF is in. You do notice the fact there's no more teleporting moves for the better as well.

Honestly, if you've got SvR 11 I'd wait and get this cheaper unless you're really into Universe

Purgatory 11-20-2011 06:03 PM

Is the Halloween Havoc arena in, or can it be created?

#BROKEN Hasney 11-20-2011 06:06 PM

Nah, just Nitro, Starrcade and Clash of the Champions. Anything can be created if you can draw the logos though.

Clash and Starrcade have their own PPV theme music and even a video beforehand with the guy who does every WWE PPV intro saying "WCW Presents" as well
