Summery:

• Players can invest in their character through customizing their appearance, improving their stats, owning customized vehicles, purchasing personal property, choosing their favourite weapons and vehicles and taking part in missions, jobs and activities.
• Players have the freedom to explore alone or with friends, work cooperatively to complete missions, band together to participate in activities and ambient events, or compete in traditional game modes.
• As progress is achieved through the world of GTA Online, players will be introduced to new characters, missions, rewards and such.
• A maximum of 16 players can be active at any one time as part of an online universe of hundreds of thousands competing to earn Reputation Points (RP), money and almost limitless material acquisition.
• As you speak into your headset, your GTA Online character will lip-sync broadly in time.
• When robbing a liquor store, AI characters will react to the urgency in your voice, stuffing money more quickly in the bag.
• You can pick up your phone to 'ring' friends in single player and invite them into your world. Your friends will be listed under 'Contacts' on your phone.
• The Content Creator will allow players to create and share their own missions and activities via the Social Club cloud. Other players can beat your target times and scores, then rate your mission. You can even choose which creators you want to follow and curate your favourite missions.
• Passengers will be able to change the in-car radio.
• You can assemble a team from your friends list, or recruit according to specialist skills.
• As you rob a liquor store or perform a heist, the team member that does the job gets the cash and can choose how much to share.
• It's possible to spread the wealth by sharing cash, weapons and ammo among your team. In turn, they can 'defect' and try to steal your cash.
• Your custom cars show as markers on the map and get impounded if you leave them too long. You can pay to retrieve them.
• The Feed, a twitter-like program, appears on screen to relay all your emails, texts and messages from Social Club.
• You can switch between single player and online mode by selecting your multiplayer avatar from the character wheel.
• The world of Grand Theft Auto Online will constantly grow and change as new content is added, and at some stage GTA Online will head into new locations. Access to Grand Theft Auto Online is free with every retail copy of Grand Theft Auto V and launches on October 1st.

This is in MP but it's a safe bet to assume it's also in SP:
If you steal a car, the police will be keeping an eye out for it. If you are spotted driving around in a stolen car, you get a wanted level.
To get past this, you have to find a car mod shop that is willing to change the plates and spray it for you.

Cool, might get annoying at times during a mission though.

Yeah, hopefully it's a timed thing. Like the guy you stole the car from wont "notice" for an ingame hour or something. Assuming you steal it when he has it parked.
If it's instant, that could be annoying.

I had a thought. What if we were all going around togethor and another group robbed a bank? Do you think we could all hang around nearby, wait for the other group to rob the bank and attempt an escape and, when they least expect it, we jump out either in cars or on foot and take them down and claim the cash for ourselves?

If that was possible, would we automatically get the wanted level from them if there were no witness?

A few of us in speed based cars to give chase, one or two in a helicopter for ariel support and the other in the back with a gun of some kind. Maybe someone driving a bus into their path to force them to stop or at least slow down?

That would be extremely fun to do. But I think that might not be possible because everyone would do it?

Yeah, it would be fun but it would be a nightmare, logistically. You'd need to know who was robbing where and when. You'd need to quickly assemble your crew, cars and weapons and you'd have to try and guess which route they'd take so you could ambush them.

If there was some way of gaining that info ingame, like bribing a member of the other group by giving him X dollars if he led his guys down Y Street or something but that seems highly unlikely.

European Ambassador sounds like the role you'd give to the one you want to keep out of the way. You'll all be robbing a bank and I, as EA, will have to wait at home.

In RDR I became quite good at hunting someone down. Anytime someone became most wanted, I'd travel to their location and take them out. Often without them even knowing I was there.
I was also good at taking out entire gang hideouts by myself.

Not sure what that'd translate into in GTAO.

What's cool is that each property you buy has a planning room. So, I'm assuming we can actually use it.
That would mean we'd actually be able to plan out a heist or something. Not sure how that'd work.

Unless it brought up a map on everyones screen and the leader could move a cursor around and set markers for everyone, maybe individually. So Kalyx knows he needs to stand across the street with a rocket launcher, Hasney knows he has to wait around the corner in a car etc. That's not too far fetched an idea, is it?

If I get this on a console and not wait for a PC version, I'll get it on PS3. There's probably a reason they're only demoing that version and not the 360 one.

They've said multiple times both version are identical.

They have some deal with Sony, I think. That's why they have mural painted fot GTA V that said "for PS3" and doesn't mention the 360 version.

A childish deal, btw. Hilarious.

They're not being the children here.

Almost every major publisher has these deals. That's why FIFA over here only says for PS3 and will only say XBone going forward and Call of Duty only mentions 360 on the ads.

Also, every dev is saying that the versions will be the same for every game. Doesn't really matter, my 360 isn't hooked up and I'll probably just borrow it and play a little chunk of it until the PC version is out. Saints Row IV will more than keep me occupied until then.

I think any difference will be very minor. Like shadows being slightly sharper on one than the other.
I doubt the 360 version will be noticeably better or worse.
