SammyG 08-17-2010 07:37 PM

Brett Favre=hick

Big Fat Mike 08-17-2010 08:09 PM

I hope Brett Favre gets both legs broken. Go to training camp, you asshole

Skippord 08-17-2010 08:40 PM

training camp is stupid anyway

SammyG 08-17-2010 09:04 PM

Love how these Montana boys are makin a name for themselves. Biermann doin' work for the Falcons, Mariani might even be a starter for Tennessee, and Schillinger had a pick for the Falcons first preseason week. In addition, Carpenter was amazing for the Dolphins last year, and Lex Hilliard is getting more carries and scores.

Aguakate 08-18-2010 02:10 AM

There's no way Brett Favre should be allowed to get away with what he does every year now. This is the biggest case of ONE player making it obvious he feels he is bigger than the team, and both the Jets and Vikings have fallen prey to this.

When the Green Bay thing went down, at first I was like "Wow, they should've let him take as long as he needed", but now it's just ridiculous.

Supreme Olajuwon 08-18-2010 02:29 AM

What is he getting away with? The Vikings decide whether or not Favre plays. ESPN decides how to sensationalize the same story every year. Don't really see how any of this is Favre getting away with anything.

Aguakate 08-18-2010 02:33 AM

All players have been in training camp, doing the drills, working their butts off, they had a preseason game...

...the guys who have stepped up as quarterbacks have been working hard...

...and now all of a sudden Brett Favre decides to come in, and automatically those guys are no longer even an option to start...'cause Favre is the starter. So it's like "Thanks for ur hard work, ur dedication, and the time u have spent over the last few weeks getting ready. Favre will take over now". It's not fair.

This is how Favre had those Vikings players who went to see him, as well as the whole Vikings organization:

Supreme Olajuwon 08-18-2010 02:37 AM

How is that Favre's fault? If your boss told you you could have a bunch more time off than everybody else, would you turn it down?

The Vikings control this situation, not Favre.

Aguakate 08-18-2010 02:40 AM

Exactly, that's what I mean. He pulls this off because teams allow him to. The Packers took alot of flack, but at least they stood tall, firm, and said "Aaron Rogers is who we're going with and that's it".

But the Jets and Vikings don't have the testicular fortitude to do so.

Hanso Amore 08-18-2010 02:30 PM

I hope Brett Farve's Wife dies of Cancer

That doesn't mean he's not an asshole

The Jets(at the time) and Vikings also don't have the quality back up that the Packers had.

Right, and Brett takes advantage of this and acts like a diva.

SammyG 08-18-2010 06:54 PM

Fucking hate Favre. Hope he gets absolutely destroyed this year.

Skippord 08-18-2010 07:58 PM

I wanna see Brett Favre play as long as possible, I don't care if he doesn't decide until 5 minutes before opening kickoff. For anything other than rivalry reasons, I fail to see how he can get 'LeBron heat' from so many people.

Skippord 08-18-2010 09:36 PM

some people seem to think training camp is necessary or something

Brett Favre is awesome you fucks

McLegend 08-19-2010 12:14 AM

I love Bret Favre.

SammyG 08-19-2010 12:53 AM

Alright, Favre lovers. Do you not get it? I don't mind him as a player, dude has still got it. It's the constant bullshit un-retiring and retiring that I hate. And how much attention he craves. He LOVES having people talk about him. Everyone knew he was gonna come back, and that he just wanted to skip Training Camp. He shoulda just said that. I hope someone destroys him.

McLegend 08-19-2010 01:00 AM

He's just having fun out there.

Skippord 08-19-2010 02:45 AM

so do you hate Michael Jordan too Sammy?

Favre isn't the first veteran to think over retirement only to come out of it right in the middle of training camp. Shit he isn't even the first player to do it this year.

I do agree he could go about things a bit differently but at this point he is just a football player that people are going to hate no matter what he does.

Aguakate 08-19-2010 03:18 AM

The problem isn't him retiring and then thinking it over and coming back...the problem is he's done it for 3 YEARS IN A ROW.

And it's unfair to the other players in the team (first the Jets, now Vikings), because they have been busting their butts at training camp, working hard, giving their all, while Brett acts like a diva and acts all hard so that they (the team and the players) practically beg him to come back. The guy who has been practicing as quarterback for the Vikings all of a sudden finds himself on the bench, because Favre decided to come back. The weeks he's been working hard, practicing, etc? Forget about it. Brett's back, so, thanks for nothing, Favre will take over.

That is unfair. Favre makes himself bigger than the team and his teammates, and the teams cater to him.

Skippord 08-19-2010 03:28 AM

the players don't care though

so why do you?

Aguakate 08-19-2010 03:41 AM

...So u really expect players to come out and say they don't agree with the situation?

Tarvaris Jackson, who would've been the starter had Favre retired, said this:

"Honestly, I really don't care," Jackson said. "I feel like if my number is called I'll be ready and I'm going to continue to try and work hard and get better. That's all I can do. My teammates, that's their prerogative. I can't really control that. I'm just going to do my part."

You can clearly see he feels bad. When he says "My teammates, that's their prerogative", he's talking about how 3 Vikings players went to Brett's house and "talked him into staying".

It sucks.

Skippord 08-19-2010 03:51 AM

maybe Tarvaris Jackson should suck less and he could win the starting job

Aguakate 08-19-2010 03:53 AM

...right.

...he's going to beat Favre for the job.

He's probably relieved, though...he won't have to carry with that 7-9 season.

Supreme Olajuwon 08-19-2010 03:36 PM

Giants signed a kid from my high school to play QB because everyone else is hurt. Hooray

RP 08-19-2010 04:03 PM

apparently Percy Harvin died

Boomer 08-19-2010 04:11 PM

He collapsed at practice, but I think he's still with us.
