They could be better or worse. It's not the most important thing as long as they male it pretty close. Until they fix universe, the replay factor will be low.

and yea, the community created CAW's are done quite well. I have the shield and a really well done Jeff Hardy as well.

I got this for Christmas, and promptly gave Mankind the US title. I had a match with Christian and during the victory cutscene Foley's arms kept disappearing or both were appearing on the same side depending on the camera angle and how he moved. Gameplay was fun though.

Should have traded in sooner... GameStop only gives like 10 dollar for it now :(

Good game so far. I'm really loving the Attitude Era aspect...although, I have yet to win the Royal Rumble with Austin. The shaky camera angles makes it hard to catch the button cues at the right time so I can eliminate anyone.

All in all, much better effort than last year. The character models look a bit better, but still not as good as they probably could be.

If you are talking about the crazy camera cuts, you can turn that off.

I only have a few complaints so far:
Universe Mode: There are very few matches that you can interfere in.

I've realized that I put on extremely awesome shows in Universe Mode, but there is no reward. I think that with the next game, they need to give it a little more of a GM Mode feel. I know not a lot of people didn't like GM Mode, but I loved it. Making feuds, matches, hyping up new acquisitions and returns from injuries. It was the goods.

Throw that in with Universe Mode, and you've got me hooked for hours and hours.

The CaS is the exact same thing every year, with maybe a couple new moves and new shirts thrown in. I don't understand why they can't have the game find your CaS save data from the previous game and use that as your guy. You wouldn't have to start all over.

Speaking of CaS, I also don't understand why they don't just give them default maximum stats. Do they really believe that people aren't going to do that anyway? It's just tedious. Also, why do you have to change your entrance when you win a title? I put all that time ande effort into making an awesome intro, just to have it all change to something else as soon as I win a title? Considering that there are so many titles in the game, you'll probably go strapless for a whole 5 matches.
The announcing gets messed up every once in a while when CaS are making their entrances, especially with a team or trio. Say for example your guy's name is "The Rattlesnake Steve Austin," it will sometimes announce them as "Rattlesnake Steve Austin The."

If they're going to take up so much time loading wrestlers and titles before every entrance, make them look better. Titles look like they float above their shoulders and around their waist. It's not really bad with the main roster, but with CaS, it's pretty bad and has been for years.

I don't know about anyone else, but I notice too that there are a lot of spots in the game where it lags to a snail's pace. I don't know if maybe it's just my copy or if it's for everyone, but it's rather annoying. Especially in relates to countering.

Arenas would be awesome as DLC as well.

All in all, a good wrestling game. Probably the best I've ever played. Will definetley keep playing. All the good outweighs the bad by a HUGE margin.

And I know that No Mercy is ofen regarded as the "best wrestling game of all time." If people would drop the nostalgia feeling related to No Mercy and pick up WWE '13, they would see that '13 pretty much shits all over it.

The flip side to that, though is that if you are a SGR and just “do your job” normally and call pins/submissions/count-outs, you’ll notice a cool new wrinkle they’ve added: if a superstar in the match attacks you, you can press pin/submit/count-out once you come to again and DQ them. :D

I know, right? I remember when I picked up SvR '09, I did a Santina Marella CaS that was pretty spot-on if I do say so myself, because that was the last time (at least that I can remember) that you could start with a male superstar build and give them female apparel, makeup, jewelry, accessories, etc. Wish they’d bring that back.

About the ring announcing, I definitely feel ya on that one, homie...I created a mediocre (and that’s probably too kind of a term) at best Benoit and was disappointed that “Chris” was choosable as a name but I had to use “Ben” and then “Wall” for the last name so every time I use him I get stilted/robotic/wooden-sounding announcing: “Chris...Ben...Wall”. Shit fucking reminds me of the God-awful commentary in WWF SD!: J.B.I.

Should’ve known the “FREE” roster update for SvR '09 was to good to be true...now I find out I have to waste 320 pts. on the 2nd roster update to get Bourne, DiBiase, Haas, The Bushwhackers, Doink and Earthquake...

Sorry to vent...it's just I had been looking for “any excuse” to dust off some of my old WWE games lately, and was just pissed that something labeled as free ended up getting me only one whole superstar of actual free content (Vader, admittedly pretty sweet).

first off remove the type of story you least want to see,

secondly set up all the people you want in rivalries with one another(if you use the main roster) just clear out their enemies and put the person you want them to feud with in the middle, if you have anybody you want to have assist somebody add the assister to the assistee second lowest ally slot,

third CHANGE NOTHING on the card when I say nothing I mean NOTHING, the only thing you may change is the attire and match type AT the PPV because the storyline will have ran its course but even then changing participants may often create a clusterfuck

4th (optional) always pick the team/wrestler to the left (the center in 3 ways) on the week to week bases you may see the same match but the participants switch sides, the game is telling you which side to pick for more satisfying progression (storylines will acclimate to the person you choose over time but keep to this if you are impatient)

5th (optional) delete ppvs make them 5-6 weeks apart the game will legitimately attempt to make weekly TV more exciting, I have one indy fed (7 ppvs a year) and one WWE show(13 ppvs a year) and I adhere to the same principles for both but the indy fed is far more driven than the WWE show

these 3 essential rules (and two optional) can dramatically change your universe experience, its best to create a roster without bias so you can be okay with the facet whoever wins wins

So it's good to establish rivalries. But should I establish alliances at the start too?
yes and no, its good to establish actual stables but other alliances can be restricting

I'll be sure to change nothing, but is it okay to give a competitor a manager? I'm guessing it's not.
I dont even select my superstar until the match starts soooo I'd say no managers

Can I change the arena for a match/event? I'm guessing no on that one too.
never tried it IDK how that would effect it, because the game thinks if you change anything in match creator you essentially put a cage around the ring, but cutscenes can happen in any arena so I really don't know

Should I reset Universe before I start it and begin setting up rivalries?
you don't have to, just finish your next PPV and before you advance do the setup steps then advance to the show, thats what I did

I haven't even began Universe (I've been spending the past couple months creating characters and constructing their move-sets), but I'm surprised you can delete Pay Per Views. And you created a whole fed with its own pay-per-views? That's cool. See that's what I'm so apprehensive about. I'm afraid if I create stuff like that and put it in Universe it will reduce the number of storylines I get.
I have guys like X-Pac and NAO active on my roster since (before Road Dogg became an agent) they were all still active on the indys but all of my best angles come from my CAWs, and the lack of PPVs makes storylines that much better

How do you reset Universe mode?

Its one of the options in Universe mode, just puts it back to week one, which is great when you cluster fuck everything...I'm assuming :shifty:

My first WWE game in a while and Attitude Era mode has been great so far. I do miss a good old fashioned story/season mode though, even if it did get very repetitive after a while. All the controls are quite different now so it's taking me a while to get used to it properly. Keep hitting the old buttons for stuff.

I've gone through year on Universe and have yet to see 'my' character have any storylines. I have no interest in playing a million matches with other superstars when I just want to control one guy.

Gamestop had this for $30. Between a $25 gift card, trading in '12, and some credit I'd built up, I got it and some XBL points for the DLC. Likely won't be able to play until tomorrow, but I'm excited to get started.

She will be available free as part of the last DLC, the You're Welcome in five languages pack, yes. :D And it may not be long until the release of the 3rd pack as I have read on various sites rumors (and ONLY rumors) that it will be available Monday, but take that with a grain of salt.

Yes, Layla does come with the DLC pack. If you bought the Fan Axxess Pack, all the DLC's are free.

I actually almost screwed myself on it. I thought the Multiplayer Online Axxess pack and Fan Axxess thing were coupled together. A code for Online came with the game,so I thought that was everything. Then I thought I needed Gold to get the Fan Axxess pack and DLC's, but found I could purchase each person seperately. I ALMOST did it, but then someone said I had to enter it through the Redeem code through the Dashboard.

That worked and I felt stupid. Got everything now, just waiting for Monday or Tuesday when the DLC is released.

You can also still buy the Fan Axxess Pack for 1600 XBL points/$20 PSN as far as I know. It's not something you had pre-order in order to get all that, you just have to pay now I guess is the one key difference.

Yeah, that's what I had meant. I was trying to enter everything through WWE 13's code entry menu. It asked me to redeem, then it said my console didn't have permission. I had to enter it through XBL's Redeem thingy, then was able to purchase the Fan Axxess pack.

In fairness, though you OBVI had no idea that trying to redeem the code on the disc would result in that error, nor should you have expected that either, as it was a valid code. But I am glad everything worked out for you. :)

Yeah, I actually googled it just to make sure I didn't need a Gold account. When I got WWE 12, I had gotten a 12 month Gold at the same time. So, I didn't run into this issue.

But yeah, everything's good now. Been spending more time teaching my son to play Black Ops than playing this though.
