A lot of baseball players in general carry around too much excess imo

The Miz 07-08-2006 01:23 PM

The Dodgers don't exactly have the best track record when it comes to keeping pitchers healthy. I think Gagné will join the long list of pitchers that includes Sandy Koufax and Fernando Valenzuela whose careers were ended early due to overuse while pitching for the Dodgers.

ct2k 07-08-2006 01:25 PM

The thing is as well as making maybe 80 appearances he'd often work more than just the one inning, which can only worsen things

Willis killed it and hit it way out in a hitters park, Hafner's probably would have been off the wall in Shea Stadium

BCWWF 07-08-2006 03:52 PM

Or that he is Canadien

Gertner 07-08-2006 05:48 PM

Fuckign Blue Jays

The Miz 07-08-2006 06:05 PM

French-Canadian, even worse

Jesus Shuttlesworth 07-08-2006 06:18 PM

Nice, Red Sox take first 2 from the White Sox. Crazy game, Lopez struck out Thome with the bases loaded with no outs in the 7th, then Hansen came in and got 2 outs. Pretty good showing from the pullben; Seanez is yet to pitch this month as well :y: :y: :y:

The Miz 07-08-2006 06:42 PM

Heard a rumor that the White Sox are interested in Andruw Jones

Jesus Shuttlesworth 07-08-2006 07:02 PM

Wow if that happens, dunno how they wouldn't be the favorite to win it all (If they aren't already)

The Miz 07-08-2006 07:17 PM

I dunno. 3 months isn't a lot of time for a guy who's played in the NL for 10+ years to learn AL pitching.

And acquiring Jones isn't going to help García, Garland, and Vázquez stop sucking major balls. They need at least 2 of those guys to figure it out.

Their offense is fucking ridiculous already, they need pitching.

Ruby 07-08-2006 08:42 PM

What would Atlanta get back in return?

Boomer 07-08-2006 09:27 PM

MLBTradeRumors kinda pushed back the Andruw thing. Someone in the WSox organization said they were content with the team.

BCWWF 07-09-2006 02:00 AM

Yeah I don't really get why the White Sox would do that either. I'm not positive, but Jones isn't having nearly the season he did last year is he? If the White Sox were going to get somebody from Atlanta I'd think it would be Smoltz. Both Smoltz and Jones are kind of the "face" of the organization, but would Atlanta fans really be that upset if Smoltz left? I also heard he might be on the block a while back, although that might just have been ESPN speculating.

The Miz 07-09-2006 06:26 AM

Its time for the Braves to rebuild. Unloading Andruw's 14 million in 2007 would be a nice start. The have a nice nucleus of young hitters, but they need a lot of pitching.

The Miz 07-09-2006 02:19 PM

Ken Rosenthal claims Boston is interested in Abreu

http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/5770502

Ruby 07-09-2006 03:59 PM

Whether he ends up in Boston or not, Abreu won't be a Phillie for that much longer. If not this season, I predict he'll be moved in the off season.

The Outlaw 07-09-2006 05:43 PM

Francoeur = most clutch (for sake of petty arguments, "if there was such thing") guy in baseball. You heard me. Him and Big Papi are both on up there.

I don't see the Bravos dealing Andruw. He's having a solid year, not great but not bad. 20 homeruns, 75 RBIs. Batting like .270 with an OBP of .340 something :-\

We have a bright future though. This year isn't over, they are coming around and starting to play very well, but it's going to be a hard thing to do. If McCann wouldn't have gotten hurt, I think we would be battling for the top spot, might have it.

ct2k 07-09-2006 05:52 PM

Yeah Andruw is on pace for like 40HR/140RBI, thats shit hot

The Miz 07-09-2006 05:56 PM

I don't care how good you are at something that doesn't exist when you get on base 27% of the time

Joey Slugs 07-09-2006 05:57 PM

papelbon is finally blowing a save! thank god.

ct2k 07-09-2006 05:57 PM

Miz got a point, is that really Francoeurs OBP? Thats worse than old Chone!

The Outlaw 07-09-2006 06:03 PM

Yeah his OBP is like .280 I think? lol Like 8 walks and 70 strikeouts, freaking ridiculous. He has like 35 RBIs with 2 outs or so. Either two more or two less than Big Papi last time I heard?

The Miz 07-09-2006 06:06 PM

Oh, so a bunch of RBIs with 2 outs makes up for him getting on base slighty worse than the average 3rd string utiliy infielders

ct2k 07-09-2006 06:08 PM

Ugh thats horrible

ct2k 07-09-2006 06:08 PM

Why would anyone start a guy like him? 8 WALKS!!!!!

The Miz 07-09-2006 06:13 PM

.333 OBP, .434 SLG (RISP)
.283 OBP, .469 SLG (Late Innings of Close Games)
.270 OBP, .541 SLG (w/ 2 outs)

.282 OBP, .441 SLG (Overall)

Wow what a clutch hitter, he really raises his game to the next level in the clutch

ct2k 07-09-2006 06:18 PM

Ugh thats just so ugly its not even true, and i thought Pat Burrell's BA had been ugly!

DaveWadding 07-09-2006 06:19 PM

LMAO, is Clint Hurdle retarded? 5 pitchers to face 5 hitters in one inning.

The Miz 07-09-2006 06:20 PM

He actually has Eric Byrnes disease (murders lefties, clueless against righties)

1.002 OPS vs. LHP
.647 OPS vs. RHP

Perfect platoon candidate, although the Braves would never even consider that

ct2k 07-09-2006 06:23 PM

Francoeur is the perfect candidate for RELEASE baby. Imagine what he'd be like in a slump season?!

.087 BA
11 HR
23 RBI
.117 OBP
.154 SP
3 BB
269 SO

ct2k 07-09-2006 06:30 PM

Fuckin Rocco Baldelli and that fuckin cocksuckin arm of his! Boston look set to beat CWS in the 11th to boot!

Joey Slugs 07-09-2006 06:55 PM

BOS/CWS goes to the 12th after a 2-run bottom of the 11th.

ct2k 07-09-2006 07:08 PM

:-O

Joey Slugs 07-09-2006 07:21 PM

BoSox would of had this won if not for Papelblown giving up a 2 out HR to Dye in the 9th.

Fucking White Sox had bases loaded with no one out and only managed one run.

Dragon 07-09-2006 07:30 PM

Pretty bad game against the D-Rays, giving up a 5 run lead. Hopefully the White Sox beat the other Sox and help us out a little.

Joey Slugs 07-09-2006 08:07 PM

Thank god for Seattle actually winning a game and helping us out.

The Miz 07-09-2006 08:09 PM

Gil Meche baby

Joey Slugs 07-09-2006 09:09 PM

Boston/Chicago - 5 all, top 19

Joey Slugs 07-09-2006 09:25 PM

Finally. CWS 6 -5 BOS, 19 Innings.
