Umm... they are getting the same head of steam as they were before. They're taking the ball 5 yards deeper because it's being kicked from 5 yards closer. The distance between the returner and the defenders hasn't changed. How are they getting more of a head of steam? lol

#1-norm-fan 04-17-2012 11:10 PM

The more I see it, it wasn't THAT terrible. The defender got his hand in just the right spot. It happens. When I first saw it for some reason I thought he flat out dropped it.

FearedSanctity 04-17-2012 11:12 PM

Yeah wtf are you bitching about? He clearly caught it, the defender just did and excellent job of knocking it out

#1-norm-fan 04-17-2012 11:14 PM

He was a pretty great receiver in Buffalo in a shitty situation. Last year he got inured and lost in the shuffle. Don't know if he is still what he used to be since he kinda fell off the map.

screech 04-17-2012 11:18 PM

I like Lee Evans. Very good, in my opinion. Would still like to have him.

And that play in the AFC title game was an excellent job by Sterling Moore, not a drop by Evans.

Supreme Olajuwon 04-17-2012 11:20 PM

God, poor Lee Evans. He's had to play in offenses with Kelly Holcomb, JP Losman, Trent Edwards, Ryan Fitzpatrick, and Joe Flacco. And now he's playing with Blaine Gabbert.

This guy is just a magnet for shitty QBs.

#1-norm-fan 04-17-2012 11:22 PM

lol. Kelly Holcomb reference!

America's Team will go 14-2 after an awe-inspiring 11-0 start. They will go on to the playoffs as NFC East Champions and the top seed in the NFC. They will go on to the SuperBowl and upset the Houston Texans to get their elusive 6th SuperBowl and piss all over the fucking obnoxious Pittsburgh Steelers cocksuckers who remind us of how they have 1 more than America's Team. 2012-2013 will be the single greatest football season ever as we have an all-Texas SuperBowl!

In order to be more realistic (or pessimistic), the Dallas Cowboys will get cocky and start circle jerking after a nice 9-2 or 8-3 start and start shitting down their leg like a kitten with a broken neck at home and Philly will possibly screw them out of the NFC East Title. The Dallas Cowboys will make the playoffs and either get embarrassed or play up to their fucking talent and make a chase for the Super Bowl. I believe in America's Team and I believe we have the talent* to win the Super Bowl.

Don't forget Chad Henne. I don't see Gabbert playing the whole season to be honest.

Hanso Amore 04-18-2012 10:54 AM

Chad Henne has a rocket, and Lees best years came just catching 80 yard bombs from JP Gunz Losman.

Hanso Amore 04-18-2012 10:55 AM

Lee is a good guy, I liked him when he was here. But he is really not a legit number one. And he was paid like one here.

He is a deep threat, but cant be counted on as THE guy.

Bills beat the pats last year. So you can toss that one out. Blame the NFC west. The AFC East plays them this year, and all 4 east Teams have top 10 easiest Strength of Schedule. Hell, the bills have the 4th easiest and they have two jets and two pats games.

So take that theory and put it up that ass.

Crimson 04-18-2012 01:40 PM

Wasnt a theory . It's a fact Bills and Dolphins have sucked lately. Sure upsets can happen, but Bills and Dolphins twice a year every year when they always stink makes it an easy schedule for the Pats.

Team Sheep 04-18-2012 02:04 PM

6 of the first 9 games look very tough for the Jets, but after week 10 everything looks very winnable. 10 or 11 wins I think. This Sanchez-Tebow thing is going to surprise a lot of people mark my words.

Next Big Thing 04-18-2012 02:46 PM

Is the Louisiana Superdome really called the Mercedes-Benz Superdome now?! When the hell did that happen? It doesn't even sound right.

As I noted, that isnt the reason they have an easy strength of schedule. You could say that about ever team in the NFL. Your statements are based on the numbers given for Strength of Schedule, and thats just not the case.

Sure, the bills are typically a 6 win team. The Phins are typically a 7 win team. Just like every other division. You think thats any different than getting the Rams and Cardinals every year? Or the Jags and colts? In fact the Bills and Phins combine for more wins than most of the bottom two in all divisions.

If your complaint is about their easy strength of schedule, like I said, blame the shift the whole AFC east gets this year.

Nark Order 04-18-2012 03:13 PM

I have a strong feeling that the 9ers could sweep their division games this year. The only thing stopping us is Larry Fitzgerald being an asshole sometimes.

Innovator 04-18-2012 03:19 PM

WEEK 6 NARC

Team Sheep 04-18-2012 03:45 PM

The 9ers will be pretty strong again, but I could easily see them having 2nd season syndrome, which often happens in sport. Also the Cardinals and Seahawks got progressively better as the season went on last year, and the Rams are bound to be a lot better assuming they don't get raped by injuries again, and should kick on from their decent 2010 season. NFC West could be pretty damn entertaining this year.

Yes, it's been like that since like October.. People in NOLA were freaking out when it happened but personally, I like it.. It's a huge international name and they are giving the Dome like $17 mill a year for upkeep, something the state of Louisiana couldn't afford..

http://www.notcot.com/images/2011/11/superdome1.jpg

The Dome now looks better than it has my whole life..

Team Sheep 04-18-2012 03:53 PM

I have a question about the scheduling. The last time the Jets played the Seahawks in 2008 it was in Seattle, so why are they playing in Seattle again this year? I thought it rotated home and away every 4 years between the AFC and NFC?

People cried and cried about the Broncos' new stadium being INVESCO Field @ Mile High instead of just Mile High Stadium, and it's pretty stupid given everyone just ended up calling it Mile High anyway. Giants schedule is pretty tough. I don't think there are any gimmes on that thing. Could be a real tough year as a fan.
