I liked Sting in TNA during the period I watched from around 2006-2008 or something

I’m no defender of TNA, but Sting was arguably a bright spot for that promotion at times. There are some embarrassing memories, but that goes for WCW and AEW as well.

Destor 08-21-2023 06:42 PM

The only thing that had any genuine traction was the millionaire club or whatever it was called

Not much gained traction. I do remember he was a worthwhile investment for Spike in the early days. There was no doubt some horrible stuff, but a lot of it was “just there” too. There are some “good” matches that took place there too. I’d argue that there’s been horrible stuff in AEW and that nothing has really gained traction either.

Sting’s best promo work was arguably in TNA.

How’s Fight Forever doing?

Destor 08-23-2023 03:35 PM

Wont know current data until Embracer Group has their investor meeting. Most concrete figures was it generated $1mil in june which was a 2 week window. So it was out of the gate pretty strong but i expect sales plateaud pretty hard. If they have a substantial update it wager youd see another surge in sales but the light content on release definitely turned away a lot of potential buyers. They have some paid dlc coming so the revenue stream isnt completely dry but they def need a substantial increase in modes

Corporate CockSnogger 08-26-2023 02:10 PM

Hello members of the PWW. Are there any nice and cheap ways to watch this Wembley ppv? I was actually going to go but then things came up. I would buy it but I’m would miss the first hour and a half or so, so I’m not going to fish out full price for half an event. Not all that invested in the matches either. Hit me up.

Mr. Nerfect 08-26-2023 02:26 PM

I get not wanting to pay for the event, but couldn’t you just order it and watch it from the start when you’re free?

Frank Drebin 08-27-2023 12:26 PM

Looking at the setup and I feel bad for anyone who paid to see this. Looks worse for the live crowd than WM since they've been having them in the football stadiums. I just can't fathom how you can watch the action not on one of the screens unless you're literally in the first 5 rows.

xrodmuc316 08-27-2023 12:36 PM

Secondary market tickets going for about $5

Holy shit, that’s amazing lol.

Mr. Nerfect 08-27-2023 04:05 PM

But Meltzer said no one was going to sell their ticket.

it was this was for WM 8 at the Hoosier Dome too. Cheap ass seats, watched most of it on the screen. Also had binoculars with us.

Its def a downside for running a venue the 1st time. You dont inherently know how to set it up and its not exactly plug and play from one arena to the other. Hopefully the attendees enjoyed the show well enough for them to have a 2nd stab at it a few years down the road.

Of course I say that the fed routinely puts on shows in the same arenas that would be abysmal to attend so maybe audiences just accept not being able to see shit for fuck as the price of being included. dunno.

Could be it. Like on another site people were sharing their firsthand accounts and the guy who posted THIS pic said he had a blast.

https://i.ibb.co/72hQPQb/Screen-Shot...0Dnskup82I5aKk

Said basically everyone in his section knew they weren't gonna see shit, tix were cheap and clearly marked as obstructed. It was more about just being in a rowdy crowd, chanting/singing a lot and watching a landmark/first time event on a screen together.

Evil Vito 08-28-2023 03:01 PM

People who had more expensive seats and had them obstructed I'd guess were more pissed off. That said it's nearly impossible to avoid obstruction for stadium shows especially outdoors. The light rigging has to go somewhere.

But while people had fun here, will this many people wanna deal with the travel, traffic, etc to do it all again when it's an annual thing? Remains to be seen. At least WM changes venue every year and it's not something people can typically go to annually.

Evil Vito 08-28-2023 03:04 PM

CM Punk and Jack Perry reportedly both suspended pending an investigation of their All In fight

This altercation shouldn't have taken place.

I say this because Jack should have been met at the curtain with a release, Ultimate Warrior style.

xrodmuc316 08-28-2023 05:24 PM

One man is 44 years old leaking details to the internet that the 26 year old had a tantrum.
26 year old makes a comment mocking that report.
44 year old man has a tantrum.

Sounds pretty on par for Phil.

Ben Rodrigues 08-28-2023 05:33 PM

Hmm... guess I won't be buying All Out or watching Collision for the time being. Oh well, gives me time to do something else :)

Mr. Nerfect 08-28-2023 06:10 PM

The backstage drama is still more interesting than the actual on-air content. And now you have wrestlers like Mike Santana coming forward and being like “Who cares? Focus on what a great show it was.” Well, no — that your show is being upstaged kind of proves the point.

I can’t believe how many people on the internet think it’s okay for wrestlers to go ON TELEVISION and try and piss all over AEW’s business. Adam Page did it, Jack Perry did it. This is the biggest no-no. Getting into a fight backstage can be sorted out however you want to, but when you go in front of your audience and air this shit, there needs to be consequences.

It seems AEW’s stupider talent also overlook how important CM Punk is to their business scheme, while they are expendable. Tony needs Collision to work and he needs Punk to make that happen. It’s more pissing on your own leg. Talent that don’t get it need to either be smartened up or released.

The fight itself has numerous angles coming out about it. The closest thing to a trusted Punk side says that Punk confronted Jungle Boy, asked if he’s got something to say, Jack dared Punk to do something about it, Punk shoved him, Jack got heated and Punk neutralized him. He then removed himself from the building and ordered Nando’s for his friends.

There’s also a hilarious story about how inept Punk’s travel arrangements were.

I seriously don’t know how Punk puts up with that place. Yes, they pay him a lot of money. But the lack of control Tony has the amount of air a mark attitude in the locker room gets is pretty surreal.

I imagine him passing Tony Khan backstage on the way to the ring, who is jumping up and down screaming his name and Punk is just like:

While chuckling to himself and wondering just how much of this mark's money he can take.

It appears that guy whose job it was to set up Punk's arrangements is one of the Bucks' boys, and also liked some anti-Punk Xs or whatever.

LJ is not wrong though. Tiny Khan has no backbone, and all this shit only happens because he does nothing to stop it.

Lock Jaw 08-28-2023 09:45 PM

My post was inspired by the news of Tony being in the guerilla position trying to start a CM Punk chant. Like, I seriously don't know if I would be able to walk past him with a straight look on my face.

Mr. Nerfect 08-28-2023 11:36 PM

Why was Tony not the first person on Jungle Boy when he came back through the curtain?

Frank Drebin 08-28-2023 11:52 PM

Punk being off All Out in Chicago is fucking weak.

That’s fair. I don’t think Punk would survive in any other company if he kept behaving this way. He’s certainly taking advantage of Tony Khan’s fandom.

I expect him to be on the card. Suspended during investigation is a pretty standard process. They could have it wrapped up entirely by now.

Too busy chanting for Punk when he walked by. Then when Punk was choking out Perry, Khan was probably cheering him on thinking it was a work.

Mr. Nerfect 08-29-2023 02:58 PM

He’ll cheer him on then won’t back him up when he makes the decisions TK is too scared to.
