I read an interesting article the other day that predicted Alberto Del Rio will fire Ricardo Rodriguez and make Rosa Mendes his new valet. Ricardo would then take up his "El Local" identity full-time and challenge Del Rio, with Del Rio vowing to unmask El Local to the world.
I don't want to see Del Rio and Ricardo split up, but the idea of that unmasking is almost making me mark-out right now just thinking about it. |
Del Rio seems to get put in feuds with guys that are struggling with their own personalities. Sheamus is fantastic in the ring as a babyface, but his persona is your average bland babyface. Orton hasn't really been motivated in the personality department for a few years now. I'd kind of like to see what Del Rio could do with someone like The Rock.
|
I'm actually kind of interested in seeing Antonio Cesaro vs. R-Truth, too. People care about Truth, so I could justify a US Title switch there, but if Cesaro did retain, he would look far more important than he currently does. It should really make the Survivor Series card.

Also, mad pumped for Swagger's return.

Put all the two-strikers on SmackDown and let them run wild over there. Randy Orton, William Regal, Rey Mysterio, R-Truth, etc. It could be a crazy fun show. |

Antonio Cesaro could beat R-Truth at Survivor Series and then cut a post-match promo saying he's better than any American -- leading to "Get Down on Your Knees" hitting and Swagger coming out and cleaning the ring of Cesaro. Pro-American Swagger could be an interesting babyface for a few months, and would make a great US Champion. You could even have Swagger switch his theme music to "Real American" for a bit. |

Then Swagger's music hits, he gets his surprise return and we have a match for the US Title which Swagger wins. |
Swagger as a Kurt Angle type corny, apple pie all-American babyface who people love because despite the corniness, he can till kick ass would be amazing.
|
I still think that it should have been Swagger to have won the WWE Championship from John Cena at TLC 2009 instead of Sheamus. Earlier that year, Swagger had been the ECW Champion and I think he even had a match with John Cena heading into the PPV that was pretty good. Swagger really lost direction around this point in time, so I wonder if there was some backstage reason for this -- but I think this was around the time Swagger started his "I will remain undefeated" thing, before quickly losing to Santino Marella. They still had Swagger win Money in the Bank, though.
But yeah, I think it would have helped Swagger more than it did Sheamus to win the WWE Title in late 2009, and it would have made Swagger's MITB win seem less random. I also think that Edge should have beaten Jericho at WrestleMania XXVI, and Swagger should have cashed in his briefcase there and then. Swagger would have gone 2-0 at his first WrestleMania; would have won the largest Money in the Bank of all-time; and would have been the first man to have held the ECW Title, WWE Title and World Heavyweight Title. If the WWE delayed the draft until after Over the Limit, they could have done Swagger vs. Edge vs. Jericho (both Edge and Jericho using their rematch clauses against Swagger) at Extreme Rules, where Swagger could have pinned Jericho to retain. This would have given Edge an argument for a one-on-one match with Swagger at Over the Limit, where Edge could have put over Swagger cleanly, giving Swagger's World Title reign a huge oomph in credibility, before Edge and Jericho would have been drafted to RAW. Fatal 4-Way was a pretty shitty idea for a PPV concept, but you could have had Big Show, CM Punk and Rey Mysterio earn the spots for the match, as Swagger's goofy persona could have come out as the main storylines could have been held up by Mysterio, Punk and Show fighting for the spots. Swagger could have eliminated every single guy from that match to look super-dominant. At Money in the Bank, he could have been accused of being the dude who attacked The Undertaker, and Kane could have gone right after him. Rey Mysterio or someone could have won Money in the Bank (since it appeared they wanted an established babyface to win the briefcase to balance out The Miz winning on RAW), and Swagger could have attacked him after his win, to prevent any sort of Mysterio cash-in. Swagger could have gotten himself purposely disqualified against Kane by using the World Title as a weapon, to make Kane look like a massive threat. The gong could have sounded off and Swagger could have looked absolutely terrified, but then The Undertaker could have gone right after Kane -- with the reveal on SmackDown being that it was Kane behind the attacks. The Undertaker vs. Kane happens, with there being a possible argument that Kane should be the World Heavyweight Champion, while Swagger could go on to defend the belt at SummerSlam against a pissed off Rey Mysterio in Rey's hometown area with the World Title on the line. Swagger could have won that match cleanly via submission, and the dude would have looked like an absolute beast to this point. Kane could have beaten Taker with Paul Bearer's aid, and Swagger vs. Kane vs. Taker could have been a major attraction at Night of Champions, with Swagger retaining when he manages to pin Kane after Taker hits him with a Tombstone. Hell in a Cell would have still had Taker vs. Kane, but Swagger could have defended the World Title against someone else away from the Cell. I thought Swagger's performances as World Heavyweight Champion were great, but the booking that surrounded him was pretty terrible. No one really put Swagger over until after he dropped the World Title. |
Could of, could of, could of...
Man, I just remembered how much I used to love Swagger. :( Don't get me wrong, I do still love the man, but I used to think that he could have one day been as greatly regarded as a Kurt Angle or Brock Lesnar. I was so excited for when he won the World Heavyweight Title, because it felt like he had "arrived." Now it feels like he has sort of been and gone, you know? I do hope that Swagger's return is a glorious one that returns him to his 2010 level of glory. |

Once US Champion, Swagger could do "Land of Opportunity Open Challenges" where he agrees to defend the US Title each week against all-comers. You can even have guys from NXT make appearances and try to dethrone Swagger. All the while, Swagger wants Cesaro to take the challenge, but he says that he can't because he's not "medically cleared," and he sells an Ankle Lock from Swagger for weeks by limping around on crutches.

I forgot Survivor Series was this Sunday while I was talking to one of my bosses that likes wrestling too. He was like "you want next Sunday off right?" And I said yeah, but I didn't get why he asked. Then in my head I was like "Survivor Series can't be a week away. We just had the last PPV." Seems weird with how long the wait for Hell in the Cell was.
Only three matches booked so far? Tipsters is going to be interesting this time around. |
I expect that this week we'll see stuff like Antonio Cesaro vs. R-Truth and even Vickie Guerrero vs. AJ Lee.

It's hilarious as to how people are having high hopes for Jack Swagger because he has a new hairstyle and facial hair.
I have been a huge Swagger mark since day one. I shed a tear every time he jobbed. I am not going to keep any expectations because I fear getting hurt. |

The WWE's YouTube channel has just uploaded 3MB's Titantron.
The Titantron version of the song sounds shit compared to the iTunes version. :-\ <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/9l37MSnPnro" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/3cDwTzEuNJo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Looks like all they did was lower the volume a bit for the Tron version.

You can tell because along with the "WWE.COM" and "WWE LIVE" logos, the clips of Jericho also have the USA logo at the bottom right, and also one of the clips is flipped and another is from a USA advert for Raw because you can see "WWE RAW SUPERSHOW LIVE MONDAY" at the bottom left of the clip. :) |

Triple H is apparently among many that are hoping that Sting might pass on renewing with TNA when his contract expires at the end of the year.
According to a source, WWE would like to present Sting with a multi-faceted licensing deal which would include incorporating him into their Mattel deal and home videos. It would also likely include an induction into the WWE Hall of Fame. Signing Sting to a deal is apparently not a high priority for Vince McMahon, whereas Triple H is said to hold Sting in high regard. |
Further proof that I am right and all you smark twats are wrong.

Ever since winning the Tag Team Championship from Kofi Kingston and R-Truth at Night of Champions 2012, there has become an unanswerable question within the Tag Team Division: Which one of these guys are the Tag Team Champions? Some people seem to think Kane is the Tag Team Champions, and the others are of the opinion that Daniel Bryan is the Tag Team Champions. How are we supposed to know which one is truly the Tag Team Champions? This is a hard question to answer since It’s almost nearly impossible to track which person on every team was the true Tag Team Champion and who was simply just carrying the other belt. So where do I start in trying to find an answer? How about back in 2002, when Kane single handedly win the Tag Team Championship himself. On September 23, 2002, Kane fought Christian & Jericho, The Dudleys, and RVD & Jeff Hardy by himself in a TLC match to win the Tag Team Championship. Clearly, Kane was the Tag Team Championship, and Hurricane was just lucky enough to join on for the ride. Hell, even after the match, Lillian Garcia announces: Here is your winner, and still Tag Team Champions, Kane! So, what happened from there? Chris Jericho pinned The Hurricane in a tag match weeks later and Kane and The Hurricane lost the belts. A year later, RVD and Kane wins the Tag Team Championship, and RVD loses them to La Resistance. After that, The Big Show gets pinned by Kenny Dikstra of The Spirit Squad to lose the Tag Team Championship. Also, The Big Show lost the Tag Team Championship in 2011 to Michael McGuillicutty and David Otunga. So what am I saying? I think it’s clear that because Kane single handedly won the Tag Team Championship on Raw over a decade ago and hasn’t lost them yet, that means that he is also The Tag Team Champions today over Daniel Bryan. While Daniel did in fact cause the win at Night of Champions, Kane had the rightful claim to being the Tag Team Champions all along, and he will continue to have that claim until he loses the belts. Verdict: Kane is the Tag Team Champions. |

Given that he can still go every now and then, having Triple H protect the streak at WrestleMania by costing Sting his hypothetical match with The Undertaker would be a great way to segue into Triple H vs. Sting, which would be an amazing post-Mania season feud.
|
The eight-man tag team match on RAW made me strongly hope for Rey Mysterio, Sin Cara, Justin Gabriel & Tyson Kidd vs. The Prime Time Players, Epico & Primo to be added to the Survivor Series card. That match would be phenomenal.
|
For guys that don't really do anything, it would mark a surprising amount of PPV appearances for Epico & Primo in 2012, as well.

This wrestlinglogic.com site has inspired me to do something...
I'm gonna go back to the birth of the WWWF Championship and Buddy Rogers inaugural reign and find out who would be champion today if every pinfall/submission loss counted as a title change. I'm intrigued as to how this will turn out. I feel like there's a good chance someone crazy will be current champion/have had multiple reigns. |
