ImpactWrestling

ImpactWrestling appears to be the new name for TNA.

Does anyone else think that Hulk Hogan continues to drag TNA into the ground?

All the main wrestling/action/martial arts companies have been primary abbreviated with 3 letters.

ROH, WCW, ECW, NWA, AWA, WWE, WWF, TNA, MMA, UFC....

Is this in the wrong direction or the right direction?

mhirn3 05-05-2011 11:17 PM

Wrong....without a fucking doubt.

St. Jimmy 05-05-2011 11:20 PM

From what I've read, on the internet, that's only what they're trying to stress with the Impact show. iMPACT = ImpactWrestling. they want the show itself to be branded.

TheAdamEvansFan 05-05-2011 11:23 PM

ur saying they dont want Impact to say TNA Impact.

Does that mean they are planning a 2nd show like Thunder/Smackdown?

#1-norm-fan 05-06-2011 12:11 AM

Hmm. Sounds unnecessarily complicated. I don't like it.

TNA star Hulk Hogan seemed to indicate that the TNA name has been dropped in favor of Impact Wrestling. "No TNA," Hogan wrote. "Only Impact." To read more from Hogan, visit Twitter.com/hulkhogan4real .

IW Fans: IW! IW! IW! IW! IW!

Dixie Carter: Uhhh... sounds like they're chanting "ew".

Hulk Hogan: Don't look at me, brother. Motor City Machine Guns are in the ring right now. Probably their fault.

Dixie Carter: Consider them cut!

Lol how do yall find this shit?

Fox 05-06-2011 05:19 AM

Don't really know how this can be good for them. I was thinking about it and a good company needs a good 3-letter logo. "WCW" "WWF" even "WWE". TNA was kind of stupid because it immediately makes people think of Tits and Ass, and is that really what you want people to be joking about when they think of your company?

Impact Wrestling sounds stupid. Impact Wrestling Federation, Impact Championship Wrestling, Impact Wrestling Organization? I dunno. I just think this is another stupid idea from the brain trust at TNA.

Come on, the best part of the company is Velvet & Angelina.

As far as the name goes, I wouldn't mind a name change, it's just Impact Wrestling sounds incredibly amateurish.

it'll just last 2 weeks and be returned to tna when ratings don't skyrocket because of it...it's their company motto: "Hey at least we tried".

ALTERNATIVE RESPONSE: The Cena clone was trying to save its father, but it was all for naught, for the clone did not have its father's super powers.

Jordan 05-06-2011 09:44 AM

Impact Wrestling is far and above better name for a wrestling company than Total Non-Stop Action, come on. Plus it's going the opposite of WWE, so perhaps than can get sponsors who actually do want to be on a wrestling program.

Schlomey 05-06-2011 09:53 AM

muscle milk presents IMPACT!

Hanso Amore 05-06-2011 09:57 AM

EMLL
NOAH
NJPW
ALPW
WCCW

Its not about 3 letters. Its about fucking simpletons like you wanting the same thing you are used to.

Xero 05-06-2011 10:01 AM

It really depends on if it's truly the company name or just the show name.

It's stupid if it's JUST the show's name and they downplay the TNA name there only. It's a great thing if it's the company's name, because that needed to be changed a long time ago. It's definitely for the best if it's a company name change.

Though, isn't there or wasn't there an Impact Wrestling indy promotion somewhere? I swear I've heard the name before. Could get TNA backed into a corner for at least a payout.

Xero 05-06-2011 10:05 AM

Also, this explains a trademark I noticed a while ago but didn't think anything of. Impact Wrestling was trademarked back in February.

<table border="0"><tbody><tr><td align="LEFT" valign="TOP">Word Mark </td> <td> IMPACT WRESTLING</td> </tr> <tr> <td align="LEFT" valign="TOP"> Goods and Services</td> <td>IC 009. Notice how it specifically mentions PPVs. And, interestingly, PPVs for streaming.

Jordan 05-06-2011 10:10 AM

I really hope it's a slow burn name change type of deal, I feel like one of the biggest things holding TNA back is it's own name, and Impact Wrestling is a pretty great name for a company I think. Also just branding their time on Spike as Impact Wrestling is good too, I just hope it's more than that.

erickman 05-06-2011 10:19 AM

i wonder if they are doing this becouse vince is droping wrestling from the wwe and hates the term wrestling. so tna desides to add the name wrestling.

Xero 05-06-2011 10:28 AM

I thought that at first, but the trademark was made in February. So this was probably planned for a while. Maybe they didn't know when they'd actually put it into effect, though, if at all.

Schlomey 05-06-2011 10:56 AM

Don't they already have a 2nd show, like TNA XPlosion! or something along those lines? Or just that stupid "after-the-bell post-show" shit they had for a while (haven't watched in a bit, don't plan to start up again any time soon.)

Xero 05-06-2011 11:37 AM

They have XPlosion, but it's pretty much their Sunday Night Heat and it isn't carried nationally. It's on a few southern channels and probably overseas. That's all I know of. They don't post it online as far as I know.

And they don't have Reaction anymore.

Nice tribute at the beginning there. Also, for some reason this damn computer has decided it's funny to invert my caps lock (i.e. when the CAPS LOCK light is on, I'm typing lowercase, off=CAPS...FML:nono::mad:)

Jordan 05-06-2011 12:45 PM

The idea of Reaction was a good start for a 2nd show, something different than the every day one hour wrestling program which nobody ever watches. TNA is so corny right now, somebody pointed to it being like a B movie, which is accurate and it does make it enjoyable more than it used to be, on some level. With that in mind TNA should try to pull off a late night comedy show after Impact! on a stage with an audience where people are interviewed sometimes they could get Spike celebs etc... could be funny, and good way to progress storylines in an unconventional way.

@AdamCirc when did C.C. Deville of Poison start working for tna, and why is Katie Birchall feeding him pills?

Right before I could say that I hoped for a long Christian title reign, he has already lost the belt. :nono:
