I can imagine the feeling. My old man and his buddies were able to rent out Maple Leaf Gardens for a pickup game once though. He got sticked in the mouth and bled at center ice! That I would have loved to do. Ha ha |
Perhaps the TML scouts should have been there, your dad could have became a star.

The Bruins aren't mint at all... all growing staches for Movember...

Crazy game between Bruins and Blues. Might have to replace the goal posts with all the dings and shots off the post between both teams.
Seguin's 1st ever Shootout attempt was amazing. Even though Ryder's shot hit the post, I don't think he should be doing the S.O. anymore (4-23/24 all-time). |
Fuck you Kovalev.
|
this Shattenkirk man seems to be kind of awesome
|
He very much is.
Also, lawl at M-A Fleury |
Would like to hear your opinions on this matter.
Fanns in Buffalo are angry with the Sabres start, and many are calling for Lindy Ruff to be fired. I dont agree, Lindy is the longest tenured coach in the NHL by a long shot. 13 years. 4 Conference Title series and One NHL to his credit, never won it big though. I dunno, they are playing like shit, but he is the jeff fisher of the NHL. I dont think it is Lindy that is the problem. |
Fans in Buffalo are retards.
Its the same team that barely and I mean barely lost to the Bruins in the first round of the playoffs last year. Its the same team that won 40+ games last year. If a team that won that much last year and hasn't changed since last year. Its hardly the coachs fault. Buffalo isn't producing and they are without a certain backbone of the team. Also going to say, Miller has been playing hurt from the start. Guy is REALLY off form from last year. |

Kovalev could have been a lot better though. |
So how about the latest Hall of Fame inductions?
Can't go wrong with Dino Ciccarelli, but I think it's still too early to be inducting the ladies. This reeks of political correctness. I'm not saying the ladies shouldn't be in the hall...just not yet. Womens hockey has really only been on the international scope for the last 20 years or so. Most NHL'ers careers are longer than that if you include minors and juniors. Women also don't have a professional league, so these inductees are based solely on international play. That wasn't enough to get Paul Henderson into the hall, so why is it enough for Cammi Granato and Angela James? The hall should be about inducting the best of the best, not the best with breasts. Adam Oates, Mike Richter, Phil Housely all got passed over, and all had lengthier, more successful careers. |
Your right it is mostly politics to start adding female hockey players. It comes with the times. And where we are, hockey is in dire need of more fans and exposure. Adding women to the hall garners media attention. However, they have to start somewhere, and these women are now pioneers.
And Paul Henderson only played 15 international games. One goal wouldn't be enough to put anyone in the Hall. There are plenty of players who will go to the hall eventually, and Housley will maybe be one. |
Henderson belongs in the Canadian Hockey Hall of Fame, his one goal while famous doesnt warrent an admission to the HHOF.
|
Dear-Fucking-God...
if the Canucks cant get one past Price, they might really be fugged afterall. Maybe Price reminded them of Cloutier and they took pity on him? |
Did I really just see Price stone the Nucks?
Nah, couldnt have. |
All I know is that I need to get stonned after seeing that shit.
|
Seriously, Carey Price let in a goal to Bob Barker after watching "The Price Is Right" Even Happy Gilmour is laughing his fucking ass off right now.
|
...wanting to smash a keyboard right now.

Lol

Bruins with more injury problems....
Savard Krejci Sturm Boychuk Ryder so brtl |
Yet still winning...
|
I'm not sure if you guys have heard about the new format too the NHL All-Star Game, but I think it is 100X better than letting the fans pick. Although, it still is an over-rated exhibition game.
|
what the hell is up with this new All Star game format? It sounds like its gonna be like when you were in school and having to be picked for kickball teams. Would hate to be the last one picked lol.
|
Also, not seeing the game but Columbus is raping St Louis 8-1
|
Bruins down 4-2 in the third and come back to win 7-4.
SO MINT! |
Grrr..

Should put more focus on the skills competition. |
Oh fucking joy, Crosby and Ovechkin get to choose their teams for showdown number 832595928
|
You know what they REALLY should do? Have two winners from a super huge contest draft their teams and have tgem play against each other.
They chose evergreen from the coach to the backup goalie |

Pittsburgh's goaltending (and defensive) is awful. Not to mention that besides Crosby, they aren't scoring. Yet they're still only one game under .500 at the moment. The Pens need to get their shit in order, but they shouldn't be written off like some people seem to be writting them off.
PS Write off the Leafs. |
Anyone else think Illya is alreayd regretting the New Jersey deal and trying to put his way out of town?
Sabres take 5 out of 6 points in a 3 game trip. If Miller can ever get healthy they can start pushing their way back up. And Thomas Vanek is killing me. I truly believe he can be a 50 goal scorer and dominate the league with his skill. But the dude needs to see a shrink. He is fucked between the ears right now. |

Am I the only one loving every second of the Leafs misery???
Seems like yesterday all of Laughs Nation was bitching about JFJ when he got fired, then a fewish months later, the Laughs hired Burke, and suddenly everyone thought the Laughs would instantly become cup contenders...considering Burke "won" a cup in Anaheim by fluking his ass off from inheriting a great team, then raping the Oilers for Pronger...Take it from a Canucks fan, he's the biggest mouth and most overrated GM in the league. He talks the the talk, but walks like a 98 year old man in a wheelchair. I'll give him credit, he did great when he worked some voodoo magic to trade McCabe to the Hawks in order to get the Sedin's on draft day...but other than that..I dunno, I think he would be a better used car salesman than a NHL GM. Looks great on the Laughs though, Pre-Cap, the Laughs were the NY Yankees of hockey....minus the success. They tried to spend spend spend, and have been in the basement ever since. Im ranitng now..and I could go on... But for some reason, I take almost as much joy as the Laughs losing as I do the Canucks winning. |
I remember about a month ago when a certain team was on a 4-0-0 win streak to start the season and their fans claimed the cup was theirs for the taking.
Here we are a month later and that team is on a 1-8-1 skid (if memory serves me right) Havent heard a peep from those "fans" in a little while. |

It seems like the Capitals finally got things going this month and are playing like last year now. Even with their "slow" start they now have 24 pts which is tops in the league and 58 goals scored is tops by 5 as well.
The move of Semin to the first line with Ovechkin and Backstrom might have had something to do with it. Semin is actually playing better than Ovie and thats real scary if he can stay healthy. |

Regardless of who the Habs should have kept, one thing there is no argument against is that they should have got more for Halak. He carried them on his back through the playoffs, and all Gauthier was able to get was a couple of guys I can't even remember. |
Ryan O'Byrne looks massive next to every other Avs defensemen
|
Blackhawks might have gotten rid of too many good players.
|
Kadri is in tonight, I expect a very lopsided game, if Vancouver doesn't win by more than 3, I will be very surprised.
|
Vancouver has a nasty habit of playing down to weaker teams level.
Kinda surprised Schinder isn't getting the start. He's been really good when he's played and this is a perfect chance to get him some more experience. Hopefully they play him more than 10 games a year like all those previous backups. |
Quote:
I remember seeing something on NHL.com when they were still 5-1-0 about how they can win the cup. Was just like, really, the season is 6 games old. |
They are having a good night against the canucks, but sadly they still have 23 mins of hockey left.
|
Canucks stole 2pts last night, no doubt. I might talk a lot of shit against the Leafs, but if it wasnt for Luongo, that game would have been a blow out. He finally stole a game to start earning his 10mill.
How about that Oilers/Rangers game today tho? Avery is cheap cunt...I havent hated anyone in the NHL this much before...even Ulf Samulesson wasn't that dirty |

My main problem with Avery is, he actually has talent...
He's not a Datsyuk or Doan, but if he focused on his skills and not his mouth/being a dick all the time, he could be a 20-25 goal scorer/60-70 points. There is nothing wrong with getting under the skin of opposing players, cause them to take a shot at you, and giving your team a PP. If he wasn't such a douche, and turtled every time he's called on his shit. If he had even half a brain in that head of his, he could be a Esa Tikkanen type player. |
Can't say I love the guy, but he is good at his job. On the other hand I love nothing more then watching Cooke get KO'd by one of my favorite players.
And souray getting pounded twice by Iggy. |
bruins

Chris "Goddamn" Stewart and John Michael Liles wrecking fools

Sup with Halak? 2 blow outs in a row is it?

Fleury actually played well against a strong team, almost as shocking as a Price shutout.

Hopefully he keeps it up, when he's actually being consistent he's good.
|
That's something he isn't however, is consistent.

Holy fuck.

Pat Burns passed away today :'(
|
Yeah, pretty sad about that. I signed a half dozen petitions to get him inducted but none worked out :(
|
Leafs - Habs game was great on HNIC.
Great tribute to Burnsy. Price was sharp in getting the shutout, although a player's skate saved a goal near the end of the 3rd. I was one of those who was pissed at Halak being traded, but I'm so happy to see Price playing and winning as the Habs had believed that he could. |
Halak who?
Hey, loved what you did for us dude, but I was always a proponent of Price. This guy is such a fucking beast. |
I will be perfectly honest, I didnt think he would have this many wins at the end of the season let alone a month and a half in.
|
Kevin Porter with three straight game winning goals
what uppppppppppppp? |
I changed my views on the Kessel trade to be perfectly honest with you all.
In my opinion now, Burke made a smart move, he got Kessel for a couple of picks that were going to likely go to waste anyways. Barring Schenn and the jury is out on Kadri the LAST player Toronto drafted and kept that was an impact player was Damphousse. Not an excellent track record of excellent scouting given that a lot of first round picks become halfways good players at worst. So basically he got a good player for two picks that with his scouting staff were huge gambles anyways. |
The Kessel trade involved the Bruins getting Tyler Seguin as the #2 pick in the draft although only reason it was possible was the Maple Leafs being horrible last year.
If the Maple Leafs were better, Bruins don't get the chance to draft in the Top 2 and "steal" one of the 2 big names of the draft while Leafs would have won the trade deal. Seguin right now is averaging a point every 2 games. |
