How long do you have to wait to re-marry if your wife dies "accidentally"? Wish I knew I could have married my Housecarl but she died in battle anyways.
|
This is hands down the best RPG I have ever played. I have been dicking around for hours creating potions.
|
GOTY.

That moment when you are walking through a mountain pass, something just doesnt seem right and all of a sudden a huge dark shadow and you mutter "...fuck"
|
And then what?
|
I realized I left my Fire Resistance potion in my cupboard in Whiterun :(
I managed to win, but used quite a bit of potions I had been saving. |
Oh.
|
What class/style you play ECG?

Found out about followers being injured the hard way today. Was walking around with Erandur to Nightcaller Temple and outside the front door we were ambushed by 3-4 frost spiders (I was level 12). Anyways I finish them off and find Erandur to be crawling across the ground barely moving a foot every 5 minutes. Thought it was a glitch for a good half hour. Did dishes while I waited. Then found out I could just "wait" 3 hours. Ignorance aside, it was a good day

Bethesda promises a lot of patches will arrive after the holiday season with the majority dealing with re-balancing the game's difficulty.
PC owners will also get preferred treatment when it comes to patches in terms of a lot more will be available and arrive faster than console owners. They are blaming Sony and Microsoft for the slower and stricter certification process. http://www.screwattack.com/news/skyr...aying-consoles Also revealed was the save glitch issue for the PS3 version will be taking a long time to patch saying the problem is due to the game's engine and the way the PS3 uses its RAM. They don't have any quick fixes for that issue nor have seen it become a problem on the Xbox 360 version. http://www.egmnow.com/articles/news/...me-commitment/ |
Where the hell did you manage to stock up on paralysis potions.
|
A paralysis potion sounds like a terrible idea. You can just make paralysis poisons, though.
|
Finally went and did the achievement for restoring the thieves guild to glory. Talk about an annoying process. Only 9 to go till 100%. But they are all ones that are going to be more annoying and longer then the thieves guild one.

Got Azura's Star. Was a bitch at the end beating the final boss and his Dremora minions.

Just bought Skyrim, new, for £22 from GAME online. No idea why it's so low. I looked yesterday and it was £40.
I've not been following the game but it looks like it could be interesting. My one concern is playing it on an SD TV. In my research, a lot of people have said the game is unplayable in SD while a few have said it is playable on their SDTV. The rest of the replies boil down to "LOL SD TV!!". I looked at a YouTube video of someone playing in SD and it all seemed easy to understand and read. Anyone playing in SD? |
LOL SD TV
|
Yes, small font is small.
|
uh-so very small :(
|
I planned on purchasing a nice flat screen soon and I think this might be what sways me.
|
Like I said, I saw SD footage on YT and I could read the loading screen text pretty easily. It can't be that bad, can it?
I've been wanting HD for a while but I'm 23 and running my own house for the first time so I don't have the disposable income to spend £300+ on a new tv just so I can play games a little better on a console designed to be used on both SD and HD tvs. I really think all games should be fully playable on either type of tv. It wouldn't take 5 minutes to have put in a text size selection. Rare patched bigger text in Banjo-Kazooie N&B after complaints so Bethesda can easily do the same though I bet they wont. When they bring out Xbox 3 or PS4 and it's made solely for HD, fine but, when a console is designed for both SD and HD, that should be the case for everything about the console. |
^ That. Thought my TV is kinda old and needs replacing anyways.
|
Saw it on amazon for £22 last night, but thought I'd sleep on it before deciding to buy it, now it's £37. Son of a bitch!
Edit - one quick google search and gamestation are selling it for £22 inc delivery for Xbox 360. Hmmmm think this might be my xmas present to myself. |
You had the chance to buy the game at half price and didn't?
|
Dude, go to Rent A Center and get a TV. There's NO CREDIT CHECK!
|
Except in the long run you end up paying more for the TV from rent a center then you would just going to best buy and buying one.
|
But then you'd have to wait if you don't have all the money up front. My 1080p 55 inch is here NOW. :p
|
There are these things called credit cards D Mac. Best Buy has them too. They let you purchase things right away, and make payments over time until you have completely paid off the bill.
Same concept as renting, really.. except that you actually pay what it's worth, and you own it. |
lol why do you think I said NO CREDIT CHECKS. :p
|
Okay, so whoever has gotten the Sanguine Rose: Where did YOU find Sam Guevenne?
Searched high and low for the sneaky bastard. Bannered Mane? Nope. Bee and The Barb? Nope. Ivarstead? Nope. So on and so forth? Nope. WHERE?!?!?!?!? Edit: Found him in Windhelm |
Bethseda says the v1.3 patch for the PC is available now while no news when the Xbox 360 and PS3 will get the same patch.
They did give a quick-fix help for the PS3 version's problem with saves. Quote:
|
What exactly is the save problem?
|
From what I've seen when my sister plays on the PS3, it causes horrible framerate issues.
|
I need to find another token to the fortune teller I either dropped it or I sold it. Usually you can't sell items that are based on a mission.

Autosave keeps creating files for me on 360 and it gets slow at times. Thanks.
|
Once a save goes over around 5MB in size, it starts to cause a lot of graphical and gameplay problems due to how the RAM in the PS3 works differently than on the Xbox 360 and PC. Auto-saving on the PS3 manages to make a bunch of those files way too large than what the PS3 or the game is actually expecting but since its more of a PS3 issue than a game engine issue, it will take them a lot longer to get a patch finished.
Its not as bad on the Xbox 360 due to it sharing a lot of its structure with the PC although most of its problems are related to graphical loading glitches. |

Consoles eat dick. All the dicks. Use a fucking PC like anyone over the age of 16.

Does it matter which artifact you get from Azura for the achievement?

He couldn't possible be using an older computer now could he? Everyone goes out and spends 500+ bucks on a computer just to post on internet forums huh? |
$500 is not a lot considering the many uses a PC has compared to the very few uses something like an Xbox has. Especially when that $500 buys you something that is far more technologically advanced than an xbox.
|
That isn't the point here.

Consoles and even phones can do anything a PC can do. Internet, MSN, email, Facebook, YouTube, music, movies, games.
If you bought a 360 at launch for £300 you are set for gaming for at least 5 years. If you bought a PC at the same time for £500 you were set for gaming for 2 years, then you had to go upgrade which cost you even more money. You already spent £200 more than the console gamer and now, to keep up, you need to buy upgrades. I'm not sure how that's a good thing and considered superior to console gaming. |
Oh god, does anyone want to buy a GFX card? I don't want to play on PC anymore, I'm scared I'll catch douche.
|
Only kidding, I surpassed douche years ago. I'm just a cunt now.
|
Oh sorry. I was looking for the Skyrim thread. Must've stumbled into some Tech bullshit. My bad
|
Will make a thread. Hold on fags.

There

Am absolutely loving this , but rather annoyed as I've somehow become a vampire and now everyone wants to kill me wherever I go, how can I fix this?
|
sneak around at night and feed on somebody and then get the cure for vampirism later.
http://www.gamefront.com/skyrim-how-to-cure-vampirism/ |
Loving this game. Was hesitant to get it at first, because I didn't get hooked on oblivion, and I generally don't really get into the fantasy setting as much as I do others. But whatever it was about oblivion that bored me, is absent from this game, because I'm having as much fun, if not more than I did in the fallout games.
Honestly think no other company can make exploring as fun as bethesda makes it. Just something about it that I can't put my finger on. Maybe it's just that ominous chill I get when I discover a hidden location and that drumline hits with something like "Bloodwind's Tomb Discovered." Or maybe it's the sheer terror of running into an enemy that I am totally unequipped to deal with. |
Yeah, I felt the same about Oblivion. I'd just mess around in it most of the time and didn't actually want to -play- it like I do Skyrim. I just love exploring and watching my character's skills go up in Skyrim.
|
Love this game too..but everytime I play I get stuck on it for hours. So I try to avoid playing it unless I have absolutley nothing on the agenda
|
God, being a vampire fucking sucks! Currently in the blood thirsty stage but everytime I break in somewhere they wake up, its so annoying as it really hinders your progression because everyone wants to chop your fucking head off, grrr.

I just contracted lycanthropy...and being a werewolf is a million times more entertaining in Skyrim than it was in Morrowind. |
Yeah I'm really not the stealthy type, which is why I really hate this vampirism
|
Being a Werewolf > Vampire.
1. People don't hate werewolves like they do vampires. 2. 100% disease resist. 3. It's super easy to break out of jail as one. Pick lock, transform, kill guards, leave. |
I felt like when I was a werewolf I got destroyed by casters.
|
Havent contracted anything yet. How did it happen for each of you?
|
Not gonna spoil it for anyone who hasn't done it, not a huge deal I guess, but I'm sure someone would complain about it.
SPOILER: show |

SPOILER: show |
If its in spoilers I'm guessing part of a storyline. Appeciate that guys.
A huge tip for smithing is buy Breezehome in Whiterun, get Dwarven smithing and go west, kill giants and mammoth for items and leather, sell in Whiterun, buy steel, iron and dwarven metal ingots, make epic one handed swords, enchant with 12 points of frost via commenn soul gem. They sell for 113g and cost about 120g to make. |
Oh, the reason to buy Breezehome is to store smithing materials.

Shadowmere randomly shows up for me and then isn't there at other times. He's temperamental.

Never had a problem. Fell through the world once, but reloaded and haven't had a problem since.

Otherwise, you should go to Farengar Fire-Secrets in the right hand side room of Dragonsreach in Whiterun. There you can buy spell tomes and other things from him as he's a mage. You can also learn how to enchant from him, but that's a whole another thing entirely. Anyway, be sure to buy the Healing Hands spell tome from him, as well as any rune spells you don't have (but be prepared for the humongous cost to your magicka for just one casting of a rune spell, it can cost anywhere from 170 some odd to over 240 magicka!!!). Go out into the world with your follower. Have fun, and if they get hurt and cannot heal quickly with spells on their own, select healing hands and heal them so they are at 100% health quicker. |
Quote:
The simple way: Find plenty of Cure Disease Potions in the game (they are in abundant supply in dungeons, alchemists shops, homes, etc.). Take one and it cures all diseases, even Sanguine Vampiris. On a side note, I think in Morrowind and Oblivion the common "scientific" name was Porphyric Hemophilia or some weird phrasing to that effect. |

Bard's Leap Summit is a wooden plank at the very top of Lost Valley Redoubt. After fighting your way through a group of Forsworn to get to the top of the ruins, you will see a walkway extending over the edge of a waterfall. If you jump off the walkway into the pool below and survive, a ghost named Azzadal will appear. He will tell you that he attempted the jump as well, but that he obviously failed to survive it. He will then play you a song that will increase your speech skill by one point. Note: I did this successfully with the help of using my "Whirlwind Sprint" shout right before I got to the end of the plank and jumping into the water below. Also, the person who posted this on UESP.net said you only get one speech point, but this may vary, as my speech increased by 2 points from 48 to 50. |
Iron Dagger + Petty Soul Gem = Absurd Profit for Materials Used.
|
It's dropped to £22 in most shops in the UK, but sadly that means everyone has bought it and the damn thing has sold OUT!
Went into GAME and they were pretty useless, and the staff are like fucking sharks trying to sell you shit the second you walk in the door, and FORGET about customer service, guy behind the counter hollered OI MATE to get my attention. You can address me as SIR, scoundrel. |
Quote:

Petty Soul Gems are cheap, easy to fill, in plentiful supply in Whiterun and double the worth of the dagger.
Also you realize that I'm talking 40+ Daggers right. |

Yeah, if I make something for myself its Mammoth or Giant Soul. |
Well that's just good common sense right there.

I think I have a complaint but I'm not sure if it is one. If Ore veins get replenished, then it is. But I hate finding one and never being able to find it again.
Found moonstone veins and went back looking but can't find anything. |
At level 18 right now.
Haven't even broken a sweat in battle since level 14, because that's when I got the sanguin rose staff, which summons this demon guy who just annihilates my enemies. Even ones that are well above my level. I also have the dwarven bow of binding, so I never run out of filled soul gems to refill the staff's power. Fucking mint. Question though. I'm worried I'm spreading my perks too thin. How many categories should I focus on for perks? |
