With CoD, you can compare absolutely nothing to any other person unless you know them personally and know they didn't cheat to get what they have. That is what I am trying to say here.

I suppose you CAN compare amongst your friends to see how good you are and that I think would be the sole reason I would purchase this game I think.

As for games in general, Yes, they are only past times but with single player/multiplayer offline stories the goal is the completion of the story and enjoying what you are doing along the way.

There is a less gratifying feeling when it comes to getting golden guns in BlOps because alot of people had them and you werent sure if it was due to skill or hacking.

lol @ the idea of getting gold guns/doing prestige takes any skill what so ever. All it takes is time FA. The worst Black Ops player in the world could of gotten to their 14th prestige.

Kill Confirmed in ground war. The AK-47 not being unlocked till like rank 78 or some ridiculous shit. Only played for 45 minutes or so, gonna have to play more first.

K been playing for the last 4 and a half hours or so. It's good. Spent a bit of time with campaign and it's suitably epic, I look forward to finishing it.

Multiplayer...I don't know quite how to describe it. Obviously it's COD. But there's a different, more customizable feel. It's tough to talk about play patterns when the game has only been out a few hours, but right now I feel like stealth perks are almost indispensable. UAVs are everywhere. And the reason for that is, support strike package all the way. Assault strike package feels almost useless unless you're really good at stringing kills without dying. There's some pretty good stuff in the support one. Expect to see A LOT of advanced UAVs. I shudder to think what a really good, co-ordinated team can do with this new style. Would be scary.

Ummmmm....Stalker and Recon are pretty useful perks. UMP with Blind Eye/Quick Draw/Stalker is my go to class at the moment. Not much to say about the maps yet, they're all sort of blending together still. But yeah overall, I'm definitely digging it. Could see it becoming my favourite COD.

And no Fallen Angel, I haven't noticed any gamebreaking glitches.

Got it, like it. Survival Mode is mad fun. The first level of Campaign was fucking badass. Lots of customizable shit in MP. I like Kill Confirmed. This game should hold my attention well into next year.

Jim Sterling has started reviewing everything and generally just trolling. I have no idea if this is better than BF3 or not, but I'd never trust his reviews to be honest. Everything he does is for reaction and he used to be funny, but he bought into his own hype and everything he posts now is 50+ comments of complaining usually.

Stay away from the Jim stories and it's fine. The chat on the homepage is alright too, bar a couple of douches.

It might matter if grenades were anything like last game. I think I've been killed by explosives once.

I don't want to turn this into an argument at all, but after hearing that you didn't experience some of the most glaring issues (issues that large groups of people complained about) in MW2, I can't help but take everything you say about this game with a HUGE grain of salt. :-\

Also, a bit hard to tell what issues the game might potentially have since it just came out. Dunno, don't really want to discuss it at length or anything cause I'm still not going to buy it. Just got Dark Souls, Skyrim coming out, playing BF3 too. Definitely isn't a game on my agenda.

They are absolutely way too small. Even the larger maps aren't big enough. It could be because everyone is new and hasn't learned the maps yet (and they're also really stupid) but I am constantly running into and getting stuck behind two teammates. I'll go the other way and I'll run into two more. I wait for them to cross a threshold and they get killed by two enemies. They're not "dynamic" enough in that there is hardly any high ground. Most of it is on a flat plane with the only elevation changes being two story buildings.

One small gripe Requiem had with a few of the maps in Black Ops were the small areas of "wasted space". The wasted space in these maps blow the ones in Blops out of the water. It is so stupid and unnecessary. There are also not enough climb-ables in the game. Cant climb on a dumpster, can't climb on pallets, can't climb into the hollowed out jet engine in the airplane hanger. Which is essentially, more wasted space.

BUT, on that flip side, perhaps they made these maps this way so that you're constantly in action. With the new killstreak system, there's always shit going down and everyone has a killstreak up their sleeve to counter someone else's. It can get a bit hectic at times.

If you're a COD vet, you can figure out these changes within a few games. Whether or not you can adapt is up to you. Personally, I don't really like the multiplayer on here and I won't be spending as much time in it as I did others. I'm not saying it's bad, I'm just saying it's not for me.

And I don't think it would be for you either, Fallen Angel. My recommendation to you would be to not buy it.

That said, I can't wait to play with you in about a week.

I plan on getting it Thursday. Whether or not I still have it Monday is dependent entirely up to how it goes.

So far I have no complaints. I think the game is pretty balanced, the maps are smaller enough to keep pace high, and that's why I choose cod over battlefield. Nothing wrong with bf, i just know comparing the two is apples and oranges, and i enjoy the "on your toes" pace of the modern warfare.

Playing through the campaign and I see magazines with a "Bearded Man Invents Time Travel" headline. Could be a reference to later COD games and their setting in the future.

They aren't the best maps of the series. The urban ones in particular all seem to sort of run together. I do like the fact that they're a bit smaller though.

Just played a couple rounds with some buddies of mine.

First round all of our opponets were up to level 30 at least. 1 guy was up in the 60's.
