Solid episode last night. Everything flowed together nice.
Only thing that caught me of guard was Summer Glau getting killed off. I figured they would keep her alive so that Oliver Queen would somehow get control of the company back from her, then stick her in a cell and move on. But I guess they got a different avenue planned next season. Maybe buy a boatload of shares Bruce Wayne style? Thea spurning Roy and going with Merlyn, expected. Along with Sarah going back to the League. Price of calling them in for backup I suppose. Knew then swerve was coming at the mansion scene. Pretty much screamed "Ooooooooooooooh, he knows it's bugged!". All in all, I enjoyed the finale. Hoping Paul Blackthrone makes it through. Enjoyed the Quentin character. A.R.G.U.S./Amanda Waller having major roles next season via flashbacks is exciting. We're finally off the island..........for now. |
Maybe they will say she died in the chaos and ownership reverts back to Oliver?
|
Kind of sucks they killed her off so nonchalantly. Was expecting more of a battle with her being the #2 and all.
|
Was more bummed out by Sebastion Blood's casual killing last episode
|
That one sucked too, but at least he got a little moment so give a little monologue. Isabel wasn't even the focus of the shot she was killed in as much as Nyssa was.
|
Lazarus Pits for all
|
John Barrowman is now a series regular according to Stephen Amell.
|
Again?
|
Believe it or not he was not officially a season regular in Season 1.
|
Watching season 2, episode 1 right now on TV.... usually I don't watch repeats of shows....
|
That feels like it was first aired 2 years ago instead of 9 months ago
|
Feels like an entirely different show.
|
It's good though isn't it?
|
I have plans of rewatching this season too.
|
Casting calls for new characters in season 3 are out:

Also read something about some actor from some other CW show tweeting out that he is playing Nightwing in the upcoming season....
Don't think there is any truth to it, though. |
That tweet was a while ago, long ago enough to be strange that he'd be signed for season 3 before season 3 was even greenlit. I kinda thought he meant Batman v Superman.
|
He tweeted a pic of himself with the Arrow actor when he did it....
Only heard about it after season 2 was done (after season 3 was greenlit) |
Hmm, felt it was longer ago.
Some interesting time remixing there but at this point I trust their judgment. |
Like I said anyways, I think it is just that actor working the internet.
I think they are going to have to tone down any Bat-References with Gotham coming out. Probably won't see/hear from the League of Assassins too much anymore, or ever see Ra's Al Ghul. |
But Ras didn't factor into Bruce's past normally, that was a Nolan thing. I think Gotham will steer of anything that fantastical and Arrow/Flash can use those elements and characters.
But DC has been hardcore about this sort of thing before. |
You guys are talking about Steven R McQueen posting a picture of himself with Stephen Amell at an LA Kings games recently. There were rumors of him playing Nightwing back around November. So yes I think it's just a dude working the internet.
I think Nyssa is too important of a character now that she is going to have to have some air time in season 3 along with the league. Ras on the other hand you're probably not seeing. It would make sense for him to appear in season 3 since Malcolm Merlin is going to be the main bad guy. He comes out to put down his adopted son or something like that. |
Devon Aoki cast as Katana, who will be a recurring character in flashbacks
http://i.newsarama.com/images/i/000/...jpg?1404250850 (Devon Aoki pictured from Sin City) |
NICE.
Hoping to catch Deathstroke himself at this weekends Supercon. |
Is Katana someone from the comics?
|
Katana is someone from the comics. Most associated with (Batman and) The Outsiders.
Though I believe in recent New 52 comics there is some sort of connection with Green Arrow. Been meaning to check out some Green Arrow comics..... was pretty terrible, but I hear it got "good" after Jeff Lemire took over the book. I hear he brought Diggle over into the comics. |
I think Green Arrow's lack of popularity is a big reason why the show is so good.
They kept the origin of being stranded on an island for x amount of years, but they have changed a lot of his story haven't they? There isn't really any hardcore fan base that is going to get pissed off by what happens to certain characters. I think that's a definite plus for the show. Also Arrow is probably slowly turning Green Arrow into a Main Eventer for DC. I would think they the popularity of the character had grown over the past 2 years. |
Just as I express interest in Jeff Lemire's Green Arrow run... it appears to be ending! However! The new writers will be Arrow's executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, and Ben Sokolowski, one of the writers from the show.
|
Perhaps they're be brand unifications with his growing popularity.
|
Met Slade, Shado, and the bearded Russian dude (and him I got to hang out and chat with since he got little traffic). Slade is a troll with his strength. Had some fun with how skinny I am using especially firm handshakes. Shado's a sweet chick.
(to save time I will use their character names so you know instantly who I'm talking about, just got home and fuck google). The chick who played Nyssa was there but I didn't really feel like roughing another line. |
Also had a chat with Jerry Lawler about Cena and the current business. Pretty cool that he gave thoughts to my opinions.
|
In case you missed it, Peter Stormare will be taking over Count Vertigo duties starting in season 3.
Brandon Routh tapped to play Ray Palmer. AKA The Atom. SPOILER: show |
Great to see Routh, but we did see Ray's wife, right? That there's a mismatch.
I imagine Count Vertigo will be depicted slightly closer to his comic version. |
Ray Palmer doesn't need to have anything to do with Jean Loring in the show if they don't want.
Also, I am pretty excited for that news. I like The Atom. I don't imagine we'll actually get any shrinking action going on.... but.... I'd love it. Will have a hard time picturing Routh as anybody but Superman/Clark Kent, though. We shall see. |
Well of course the casting is inspired, they have to know who he's associated with. Sort of like Dean Cain's appearance in Smallville (and Chris Reeve for that matter). Hope to see more fun casting like this.
|
Mmmmmmmmmmmm. More star power.
Wentworth Miller on board to play Captain Cold. |
For Arrow or Flash?
|
He would be for Flash
|
Yahoo! fail on that. They said Arrow.
|
Yahoo News, bro?

More hyped for this show to return than I am to see any other superhero related movie/tv show.
Also, episode 8 of Arrow season 3 will be a crossover with episode 8 of The Flash. |
Yeah I don't like that scene at about 2:14. Someone has to die, because of that.
|
SPOILER: show Another teaser trailer that's not embedded, because I couldn't figure out how to. You'll enjoy it. |
Right click the screen and choose embed.

Apple things are weird.

Pretty hyped to see Ra's Al Ghul
|
Ted Grant cast for season 3. Will have a recurring role.
|
I figured Wildcat would be in. One of the actors tweeted a boxing ring. Forget to mention it here.
|
Finally saw the series, now I am sad Season 3 is still a few months away. What's with the flip flopping on the pronunciation of Ra's Al Ghul? It is Raas in the Arabic script, not Raysh as alluded to in Season 2 and elsewhere.
|
People have always had trouble with the actual pronunciation of his name, even though it isn't really that hard at all.
|
Rila Fukushima (Yukio in The Wolverine) replaces Devon Aoki as Katana.
Devon Aoki pulled out due to scheduling conflicts. Sounds REALLY last minute. I wonder if they gotta re-film scenes now? |
The Demon's Head has been cast.
|
No idea who Matt Nabb is.
|
*Nable

He was
SPOILER: show |
Liam Neeson said in an interview if he was asked to play Ra's for Arrow this season, he'd consider it.
Me thinks they should have asked him. |
They can't afford him anyway, not to mention the major continuity questions that would surface.
|
Me thinks they shouldn't have.
Would have just been confusing for people. These are two separate universes/stories/versions of the characters here. |
I hope Ubu is in the show and gets to yell "INFIDEL!"
|
I don't know it would have been awesome to see A-List badass 20 million a movie Liam Neeson on a CW show.
No one ever would have called that. |
|
|
OMG YES
|
With WWE's penchant for assuming fans will get "confused", they likely won't invite him because whilst cross promoting Arrow, they'll think the fans will confuse him for The Hurricane. [/sarcasm]
|
Arrow is da bomb.
That's all I got right now. |
I love it so much.
|
Like what they are doing with Olicity is exactly what they should do. Felicity has to get with a few dudes now, and Oliver has to be alone this season.
I really enjoyed the conversation on the date, and the way they interacted throughout the whole episode. The Hospital was bitter sweet. Brandon Routh also displayed more charisma and personality in 5 mins he was on Arrow then he did throughout the 2.5 hours he was in Superman Returns. Good job Brandon Routh. |
I agree with McLegend.
|
SPOILER: show Pete Stormare's schedule must be killer these days. Going back and forth between Blacklist and Arrow. |
|
I hope some more is done with Sara... reveal some of what happened while she was gone, and why she was really back, etc...
Feel like she needs more of a "closure" |
According to reports there will be.

I got a Starman #1 vibe from it, so I'm gonna say she is dead.... barring flashbacks and ghostly apparitions.
|
It does seem to obvious that Merlin did it so it's probably not Merlin.
However I'm going to say it's Merlin. |
I don't know . I feel like the League is probably less than happy that she turned up in Starling...
|
Not if she was sent there to kill someone.
|
Hm. Valid.

What did everyone think about the New Count Vertigo?
He's getting pretty negative reviews mostly because if the similarities to the Scarecrowe, which I understand. I liked him though, because he does seem like he could be a legit threat to Arrow. One of my on,y complaints about the show so far is they haven't done a great job of building up the villians of the week. They are mostly jobbers. Example being how they didn't do The Clock King any favors last year. Seems like the only one they wanted to be was Seth's Gabriel's Vertigo, but that probably didn't work out the way they wanted it to. So I hope we see more of the new Count Vertigo in the future. |
I agree with you. We're on our second Vertigo now and the first was one of like 2 that weren't the season ending baddies that had any sort of build to them, the other being Deadshot. Bronze Tiger has been used a handful of times and we know nothing about him (which I kind of like in his case, but the point remains).
|
I like the new Count, but I'm hoping the next version finally comes to the foreign royalty who really wants to kill his niece guy.
And Sara's totally dead; Word of God. I wonder how Nysa's gonna feel about this, and if there's a certain green bath that could help later on. |
Would be a nice way to introduce Ra's, I suppose. But I am ok if she is dead/gone forever. Possibly from Laurel no longer being anorexic.
|
Excellent show. Best comic show on TV (other than the walking dead I guess.)
Season 3 opened strong. very happy. |
That was an intense and well done episode.
|
Word. Powerful emotions.... I like how there is a constant sense of character growth and change in this series...
Season 1 was Oliver just straight up being a vigilante... Season 2 he was trying to become a hero, and succeeded... Now Season 3 it looks like he may start to doubt his career choices.... So who do we think killed Sara? My money is on Katana. I bet Sara killed her husband or something. |
I really liked how Oliver was throughout the whole show. Stephen Amell did a good acting job. His exchange with Felcity and his last scene with Diggle were excellent.
I don't know who killed her. I feel that it has to somehow tie back to Oliver, and he has to be a reason or the reason she was killed. Also hope it's someone we have already seen just to give us a chance to figure it out. I like a good mystery. Not sure were they are going with the Hong Kong flashbacks yet. It was good to see Tommy. |
Laurel's little interrogation was kinda shocking. Damn.
|
|
Just put him in his "Scales" makeup from The Cape.
|
I'm excited for Malcolm Merlyn tonight.
I love that guy. |
Laurel should learn how to swing a bat before she uses it as a weapon.
|
Always, always, be sure to warn the guy you've jumped from behind with a monologue before you pop him.
|
Lol I loved Oliver's reaction to Laurel telling him she tried to exact revenge. It was just a look of pure exacerbation. He did not want to deal with it at all.
I enjoyed that scene. |
Woo Ted Grant. Also +1 for reference to Tom Bronson.
|
Thea's badass. And still bratty. But badass.
|
Merlyn is going to kick some ass tonight.
|
Man that was awesome.
