Gamestop decided to celebrate getting a new shipment of the Pip-Boy collector's edition by jacking up its price by around $70.

Main reason for the spike is due to them adding in the Season Pass ($30) for the game in the bundle. Also a strategy guide ($40) as well but at almost double its current price ($23) at other retailers.

Part of Bethesda's plan for trying to plug up pre-release leaks of the game includes an embargo on saying there is an embargo in place for reviews. Embargo on talking about when reviews will arrive on official websites ends on November 6th while the embargo on official reviews doesn't end till November 9th.

They've already been a bit open about certain stuff that would impact review scores (ex. graphics) while recent leaks outside of spoiler stuff have focused more on bugs and/or glitches.

They've done this for ever game since Fallout 3. Even the Beastcast and GT Time mentioned embargoes on embargoes is fairly common in recent weeks, so it's just your usual Kotqku pot stirring.

UPT count. For some reason, that shit still affects corporate suits in retail. Buying more than one item is SUPER IMPORTANT even if the customer is spending a ton of money to begin with. You'd think it was because there is technically more of a profit on the strat guide, but that's just a bonus. The game, the pass, and the book is a 3 item transaction, even if the standalone game were the exact same price.

LOL, WHAT? It lends realism to the game. If you have a weapon IRL, its condition is going to slowly deteriorate over time...I see no reason to fix something not broken.

I have read that there's some framerate hitches in the console versions, and invisible weapons occasionally, but we knew what we were getting into with a day 1 Bethesda game.

So yeah some idiots broke the game and started livestreaming it. Well, until Twitch came down hard with the ban hammers. Meanwhile Youtube Gaming is probably gonna be talked to by Bethesda reps as they did nothing to stop it. Might even be some lawsuits coming.

Look, don't get me wrong, dude, to an extent that's a fair argument you make, but in a half-hour in real time, in FO universe time you could pass days, weeks or even months (that's stretching it, but I'm sure it's possible), and if you're spending the majority of your in-game days using the same weapons over and over in combat it does stand to reason they'll deteriorate. That's not to say with the non-unique weapons you can't open your inventory and combine a bunch of them to restore your weapons. Hell, if you're lucky enough to have a bunch of weapon repair kits, they restore your weapons to 100%.

Weapon degredation seems kinda like unneccessary busywork. At least, in normal running gameplay. In a Hardcore Mode scenario, sure. In a game like Elder Scrolls, where you have no other stake in any weapons besides one being "better" than another? Okay. Even armor, I'm down with, because getting shot, or stabbed, or stung, or blown up tends to play a little havoc on your attire, and stitching up clothes that are presumably a few decades old seems fair.

But, with guns in Fallout, it kinda hits the threshold of unnecessary, especially when having to "repair" a shotgun with parts from another shotgun after shooting it just 12 times. Maybe just limiting ammo seems like a good tradeoff. Make finding ammo a bit harder. It's seriously easier to find ammo than money most of the time. If they make finding bullets less world-breaking to begin with, (or, at least, add weight) weapon degradation wouldn't be neccessary.

People chastising reviews of the game for pointing out flaws in the game or whatever, as if the reviewer is WRONG. Fucking hilarious. ... I mean I kinda see where they're coming from, but honestly they should be happy that Bethesda is even including same sex romance at all. For that matter anyone who likes romance in a game (me...) should be happy that Bethesda included any form of romance at all in the game given that the majority don't give a crap and it's basically just for the few hardcore roleplayers out there (if they even have. Haven't heard anything about them including stuff like this honestly.)

I'm hoping those FPS issues are fixed in the day 1 patch; otherwise I fear the GRAPICZ YO! GANGSTAZ will be bitching to the maximum on this one.

To be clear I am a big graphics whore myself. I like eye candy. I really do. But it doesn't detract from what makes a game good or not. Would FO4 be a better game if it had better graphics? Nope, it would just be prettier. That's why I can still go back and play FF7 for example. It's ugly as sin now but it is still gaming greatness. The opposite can also be true: The Order 1886 is one of the most beautiful games I've ever played....but that shiny coat of paint didn't make it a good game.

The graphics are a bonus, basically. And if you have to sacrifice some of that bonus to get a much better gaming experience then so be it.

Yeah fuck all the haters this looks great. Fallout 3, as much as I love it, got redundant after a while with it's bleak color scheme. Only been around the first two areas but it already looks more vibrant while maintaining that fallout atmosphere.
