Could be interesting but that'd also leave Raw short on big names for the Rumble match itself unless some guys pull double duty. Never really liked the idea of people entering the Rumble after they'd already had a title match that night.

This is like starting the Road to Wrestlemania with a flat tire one your unicycle.

This would have been way better if for weeks it was Jericho and Owens getting the upper hand all the time and then you have Reigns and Rollins getting that sweet revenge moment.

Instead it was mostly the other way around and Rollins and Reigns coming as just big sore losers or heels.

The tag match was the highlight of the show tbh. They also made Sami look good for hanging with Strowman.

Everything else was "par for the course"/boring.

It's too much to ask for WWE to end a PPV with the heel champion standing tall. Jeri-KO just outsmarted Reigns but OH WELL, let's have Rollins and Reigns get their revenge now instead of having that kick off Raw.

WM will be filled with many people who are not currently on our screens. By WM time KO/Jericho will be in a #BLOODFEUD, Seth will be pre-occupied with HHH and Roman will be full throttle in a "Battle of the Giants" with Braun Strowman.

But just thinking about it they have The Rock, The Undertaker, Kurt Angle, John Cena, Randy Orton. If WWE ever acquire the TNA tape library and their World Titles become canon you'll have AJ Styles too.

Probably could sell Kane and/or Big Show as headliners too if they really were pressed to. Maybe Daniel Bryan too.

Doubt the WWE would risk blowing two potential big headliners in one year considering the pool of them is shrinking. Them having big problems creating huge stars over the years is going to really bite them back once they need to start pulling headliners from Cena's era of stars.

At least in Macho's case, it was ok to put him and Nash in the same year mainly because of Macho's passing and the WWE not wanting the headliner to be a deceased person for speech reasons.

The ending to The ironman match was one of the single dumbest finishes to a match that ive seen in a while. Sasha should have tapped out a lot sooner than 3 seconds left for it to have been believable.

The Stroman match was also poorly done with regard to timing.

Either way, that's really bad.

I think people are being way too hard on this event. With 17 PPVs a year, the WWE has to do something to keep people hooked, and that sometimes means starting THREADS people! Threads!

* Rusev and Big Cass are both the future, and possibly a future WrestleMania main event. It makes no sense to have Rusev beat Cass or vice versa. By using the countout you protect your equity in both men. Genius.

* The New Day have been champions for ages and beating them actually means something. Cesaro & Sheamus as your new RAW Tag Champs proves that they are worthy team and a team for the ages, instead of being just two guys pushed together in a tag team. Very European Champs, baby! Genius.

* Sami Zayn proved that he can hang with the big men. It's a good thing too, because I was starting to lose faith in him. The WWE have told a brilliant story of Sami choking at crucial moments, and just as we're about to give up, he proves he can hang with THE UNDEFEATED Braun Strowman. Now I want to see them fight again and again to see if Zayn can actually win. I doubt they will fight at the Rumble, but I expect them to interact. A lot of people are saying it will be Reigns vs. Strowman at WrestleMania, but I wouldn't be opposed to these two men facing off in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal to prove what gladiators they are. Genius.

* Seth Rollins needed to beat Chris Jericho, who has been so well protected, beating AJ Styles and Sami Zayn in crucial PPV matches this year. Rollins will continue to call out Triple H, who is a few grades above Jericho (no offence to Jericho), so he needed to win this to look like he belongs in the main event with The Game. Given how many able talent they have on the roster, a Fatal 4-Way for the Universal Title at the Royal Rumble would not be out of the question and could possibly be an early Match of the Year candidate. Triple H will cost Rollins there and help his boy win. But who is his boy? Genius.

* The cruiserweights are still struggling, but that is just because they aren't as special as they were in the 90's. But people are easy to manipulate, so I'm sure the fans will eventually care. A lot of people don't see the logic in having a small guy division when your main event is filled with smaller guys, but what people don't get is that it makes them look BIGGER and that helps the real stars of the show. I think they could have switched the title here to keep things interesting though. Maybe back to TJ Perkins, since he's going to be a future star and people will accept him if he keeps winning championships. But they now have Heel Neville which is great and it will allow Neville to get good at acting, which he sorely needs if he is going to be a future WWE UK Champion. Genius.

* I'm a bit iffy on the Women's Title match, just because I think they should have swapped the belt again to keep things interesting, but I suppose they need to keep Charlotte's one-on-one PPV streak alive. I felt the story was good though, and I just wish these two could have more rematches, because I think they could change the world with the stuff they are doing. But if Sasha can't get any more rematches, I hope they get Sasha on SmackDown for a match against Alexa Bliss, Becky Lynch, Nikki Bella, Natalya, Naomi, Carmella and Eva Marie for WrestleMania. The more hot girls the better. Genius.

* Such a clever ending to the show. Now fans are biting to see Reigns get the Universal Title. With Rollins in there, there will be drama as to who gets the shot. I'm actually wondering if instead of doing Triple H vs. Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman and Kevin Owens vs. Chris Jericho, if they do The Shield vs. Triple H, Kevin Owens & Chris Jericho at WrestleMania. Now THAT would be a special attraction. I don't even think they need to do a Universal Title match at WrestleMania this year. Give the WWE Title match room to breathe and have the Uni Title locked around Owens waist for even longer. Given that he's the champion, you can probably have him take the pin at Mania in order to set up his post-WrestleMania challenger. Genius.

So as far as WrestleMania is going (at least from what we can gather from this show, I hope it looks something like this:

* Triple H, Universal Champion Kevin Owens & Chris Jericho vs. The Shield

* An Undertaker classic

* Alexa Bliss vs. Sasha Banks vs. Becky Lynch vs. Nikki Bella vs. Carmella vs. Natalya vs. Naomi vs. Eva Marie for the SmackDown Women's Title

* Braun Strowman vs. Sami Zayn

Starting to look like a real Supershow.

Even if it's against the Shield in their first match together in 2 years? I don't know if the Rumble winner will go for that belt it's only been around since August. Does seem like it could happen. Although Rollins and Triple H is the match that will probably take place.

I don't see them rehashing a 5 or 6 pack challenge for an established title either. Eva Marie getting a match ever again does seem insane especially at a WrestleMania. Total Divas ratings are down. Total Bellas is now established. Total Divas will be soon canceled and Eva Marie's career will be over.

Being there live thoughts:
Expectations were low but I actually enjoyed myself

Tag Match was by far match of the night. It was time for a change but was still surprised didn't wait till Rumble

Heel Neville was needed too. Cruiserweights were dying a slow painful death last night.

I thought the Iron man stip killed crowd first 20 mins as we pretty much figured nothing was happening to the end.

Charlotte had to get it back for the Bayley chase to Mania. That is why I hated the last change to Banks. Sasha and I'd say Nikki Bella need to switch places/Brands.

I actually liked the psychology in the Braun Sami match. Timing was a little off at the end but it was effective.

End was kinda dumb. I was under impression show ended was Owens and Jericho in ring but the rest was to "send the people home happy" Nope. Could not care about Roman or even a Face Rollins. Rollins is fantastic but he quite frankly stinks as a Babyface.

Sasha losing was an Omen of things to come. Trust me, I know.

Good show overall although I had to watch the show in pieces instead of all at once and I never got to the CWs or the Stroman match.

What I saw was what I would call a run of the mill show. Tag title was a great opener, and it's the right time for the title switch. It'll be interesting to see if New Day tease a breakup now as all three guys have singles aspirations. The New Day thing is a great money maker, but these guys want to be top stars one day.

Women's match was slow but picked up to a nice finish. I'm becoming less of a fan of Banks. I don't know if it's just that Charlotte Flair is so good that she looks mediocre in comparison or she's actually gotten worse since NXT. I find myself hoping nobody beats Charlotte Flair and they build her up as unstoppable. It'll be interesting to see what Bayley is able to bring to the table.

Main event was a fun match. Not crazy about the finish, but in a Network era it's easy to do that stuff to tell a long term story. I really want to see Jericho vs Owens for the belt, but long term you need the title on Reigns because he's the money player of the group.

Neese & Neville need to be a team!!
