Simple Fan 06-08-2017 09:28 PM

This should be interesting. Larural Van Ness vs Rosemary.

KIRA 06-08-2017 09:30 PM

This sounds like somebody tried to ripoff Marilyn Manson's The Nobodies and just completely failed

KIRA 06-08-2017 09:32 PM

Seriously how are they not getting sued for that song

Simple Fan 06-08-2017 09:33 PM

Allie is no Bayley, she can get extreme.

That was her theme for a while with Decay. Changed around the time the new regime took over so they probably didn't want to pay for it and made their own theme.

KIRA 06-08-2017 09:37 PM

Ok for a minute I was like I'm not crazy I own the album that song is on.

KIRA 06-08-2017 09:41 PM

The most exercise either of these men have gotten in years from the looks of it

Simple Fan 06-08-2017 09:51 PM

Patron vs Chris Adonis for the GFW Championship. Eli Drake is with Adonis and interfering at every chance ge gets.

Simple Fan 06-08-2017 09:59 PM

Patron wins but is being beat up by Drake. Lashley just watching but Moose made the save.

I thought he was already in ROH and was doing both at the same time.

Yeah he was but recently has said he plans on signing with a company soon and has been on ROH more lately and has become the Young Bucks new boy toy so he'll probably sign with ROH. Also going affer the ROH World Championship at their next PPV.

#1-norm-fan 06-10-2017 01:10 AM

He should win it. Love Cody. Just "Cody" is an awful name though. Fuck WWE.

#1-norm-fan 06-10-2017 01:13 AM

It would be cool if he just went by "The American Nightmare" but I feel like he needs some light facepaint or something to go with it. "CAWdy" with a name like that might be weird.

Have a feeling he will. ROH TV announcers still call him Rhodes and stuff he's just announced as The American Nightmare Cody when coming to the ring.

Kinda funny, because once upon a when all those years back when TNA tried to crack the India market the *first* time, they were pushing him to the goddamn moon in Ring ka King because he was "hometown" and "looked the shit" even though he was as green as grass. The best example I can think of is if Vince instantly decided David Otunga was ready to be WWE champion after his NXT debut [and I mean his first actual match months before Nexus was even a thing and NXT was a "contest"] and instantly threw him to the top of the card. Essentially; the shits.

Essentially, he's more legit now than he was then, and he's relegated to comedy fodder.

Simple Fan 06-15-2017 08:51 PM

Storm made the save and tired to get EC3 with the belt but he ran.

Simple Fan 06-15-2017 08:58 PM

Spud and Swoggle got into it at lunch today befor the battle royal and apparently Spud hates short people.

Simple Fan 06-15-2017 09:06 PM

Shera was about to take out Mathews when Lashley saved him and Josh put the Steiner Recliner on Shera. Patron made the save this time as Lashley and Josh ran.

Simple Fan 06-15-2017 09:34 PM

Whats racist about that if I may ask? Its not like the guy has been great those 14 years and had alot of other guys who are in WWE now ahead of him. Obvious he was going to win with them being in India but it told a good story.

#1-norm-fan 06-15-2017 11:53 PM

Because giving someone a title to appeal to the people of India just because he's Indian is racist. OBVIOUSLY.

Tom Guycott 06-16-2017 12:37 AM

I don't agree so much on the "racist" part, but I do agree in seeing it as a bullshit stunt.

I can't be the only one who finds it humorous that it looks like iMPACT is copying WWE in hotshotting brown talent for a boost of market share in India. It can't be coincidental that this comes on the heels of "unhindered Jinder" getting the flying checkers king push that is about as transparent as Scotch tape, and now, suddenly, after all this time, Sonjay Dutt is worth enough to become a champion when they just so happen to be in India...

... but THEY WERE DOING IT FIRST! It takes a special kind of fuckup company to be the first at something and still come off as a copycat promotion. Dutt becomes a champion, Sheera gets a trophy, and both were talents they could have/should have been building for years. Years! Instead, it looks like a "me too" answer to Vince.

#1-norm-fan 06-16-2017 07:04 AM

They're not copying WWE/Jinder. They were IN India and had an Indian guy win a midcard title in his home country to give the crowd a feel good moment. It's kind of just a typical wrestling story. There's a big difference between that and suddenly revolving an entire brand around a jobber just to boost business in a foreign country.

Tom has a good point though, Impact Wrestling did it first with the trip to India. That caused WWE to react the same way they did with the UK tournament and trying to control that market. Jinder being champion is a result of WWE not wanting to lose the Indian market to Impact. WWE being live and not taped though makes it look like Impact did it just because WWE has Jinder as champion.

Simple Fan 06-16-2017 11:50 AM

It worked out just how the WWE wanted it to really. Cant speak for India but here in America WWE spun it as an Impact reaction.

The bigger point I'm trying to make isn't just that it looks reactionary to WWE... but that IMPACT HAS HAD YEARS OF A HEAD START WITH THIS MARKET AND IT STILL LOOKS REACTIONARY TO WWE!

Simple Fan 06-23-2017 01:57 AM

Starting late tjis week as I was watching the NBA Draft and Louisville in the CWS but here we go.

Simple Fan 06-23-2017 02:01 AM

3rd week in India, first match is X Division Sony Six way match. Davey Richards, Trevor Lee, Suicide, Braxton Sutter, Eddie Edwards, and Matt Sydal. Winner get another little trophy.

Simple Fan 06-23-2017 02:11 AM

Its an elimination match and Suicide and Braxton Sutter have been eliminated.

Simple Fan 06-23-2017 02:16 AM

Davey Richards has been DQ'ed and started to atrack Eddie Edwards who was also DQ'ed for defending himself against a guy that was already eliminated via DQ. Dont get that at all but I guess it builds the ruthlessness of the two leading up to their Slammiversary match.

Simple Fan 06-23-2017 02:20 AM

Matt Sydal win the match and the little trophy. Might get a X Division Championship match now.

Simple Fan 06-23-2017 02:26 AM

Laural Van Ness and Sienna vs Allie and Rosemary is next. Questionable whether Rosemary shows up or not.

Simple Fan 06-23-2017 02:30 AM

Rosemary didn't come out during her entrance and Sienna and Larual thought she wasnt coming and went for Allie at the top of the ramp. Rosemary came from under the ring and stopped them and the match has started.

Simple Fan 06-23-2017 02:32 AM

Sienna and Laural won with Sienna pinning Rosemary.

Simple Fan 06-23-2017 10:42 AM

Passed out about half way through.

Anybody Thrilla 06-23-2017 12:59 PM

OK Simple Asshole, now that I have finally caught up on Impact, I wanted to say that your play by play spoilers are not helpful nor insightful. You're just spoiling for the sake of spoiling. There were some Impact things I would have liked to discuss, but I stayed away from this idiotic thread because I knew I'd read something to ruin something else for me. Would you consider a possible format change here?

Simple Fan 06-23-2017 01:19 PM

What do you suggest?

Simple Fan 06-23-2017 01:22 PM

Im more than happy to accommodate other posters but no one seems to watch so I just type what happens in case someone checks in to see whats happening without watching.

Simple Fan 06-23-2017 01:30 PM

I've thought about just posting the recap videos that they put on YouTube. Is that something that would work better?

Anybody Thrilla 06-23-2017 01:52 PM

Refer to the NXT or Lucha Underground threads where the product is discussed, but not spoiled. I have been watching recently because a friend of mine told me he's going to be on the show soon.

Simple Fan 06-23-2017 02:28 PM

Im all for discussion and such and that was the intent when I started it but not alot of discussion about Impact happens around here unless it lolTNA type stuff.

XL 06-23-2017 04:22 PM

Yeah, this isn't the NXT thread though.

That's essentially how I catch up on Impact anyway.

Well, really almost anything except ROH as of late, I can actually catch an airing of that while at work.

I might switch to doing just that with my own critique of the show as I have grown tired of posting things as they happen but haven't had any objections until Anybody Thrilla here recently. If that would suit more posters and bring more discussion, I'm glad to do it.

Tom Guycott 06-28-2017 12:16 AM

A critique of that method on the whole, though:

I get the reason for the "shoddy" editing to help avoid any copyright strikes with consecutive footage matching, but sometimes, whoever compiles the video will cut promos mid word and spots mid move... a bit annoying, but it still gets the point of the whole show across in about 10 minutes.

XL 06-28-2017 03:54 AM

For the record, I do not agree with the proposed changes.

This was never started as an Impact discussion or review thread. It clearly states that it is Simple Fan's thread. I quite enjoy the "stream of consciousness".

Simple Fan 06-28-2017 12:15 PM

While I understand where Anybody Thrilla is coming from with the spoilers I also dont see how that keeps people from discussing and it hasnt stoped people like Tom Guycott and #1-wwf-fan anyway. I dont watch Raw and Smackdown live so I dont check in on those thrrads until I'm done watching so not to be spoiled, Impact is no different other than instead of a bunch of people its just me and erikman occasionally. As I've also said there isn't alot of discussion about Impact Wrestling unless its lol TNA type stuff or something the front office is or isn't doing, its hardly ever about the product.

Simple Fan 06-29-2017 09:47 PM

Just getting in and starting to watch. Hyping Slammiversary right now. Show is starting with contract signings.

Simple Fan 06-29-2017 10:00 PM

Low Ki and Trevor Lee vs Sonjay Dutt and Matt Sydal is next.

Simple Fan 06-29-2017 10:11 PM

Decent tag match, Sydal and Dutt won after Sydal hit a shooting star press on Trevor Lee.

Simple Fan 06-29-2017 10:15 PM

Eli Draje and Chis Adonis vs The Mumbai Cats, two masked wrestlers.

Simple Fan 06-29-2017 10:25 PM

Rockstar Spud vs Swoggle in a Mumbai Street Fight is next with a midget referee.

Simple Fan 06-29-2017 10:36 PM

Match brike into a pantsing match as Spud tore the oants off tge ref before the ref tore Sluds pants off and then Swoggle put Spud through a table to win

Simple Fan 06-29-2017 10:39 PM

Rosemary, Allie, and Braxton Sutter vs Sienna KM and Laural is next.

Simple Fan 06-29-2017 10:51 PM

Rosemary won tbe match with a Red Wedding(F5) on Laural Van Ness

Main event time, El Patron, James Storm, Eddie Edwards and Mahabali Shera vs Lashley, EC3, Davey Richards, and Kongo Kong.

Simple Fan 06-29-2017 11:13 PM

Lashley's team attacked Shrea who was first out for his team and didnt participate in the first part of the match but returned half way through to help his team win. Patron hit a stomp on Kongo Kong for the win.

Well technically they haven't been TNA since January. I really think this is happening so they dont have to make new titles and can just use the GFW titles.

#BROKEN Hasney 06-30-2017 05:47 PM

The head office was still called TNA, they just labeled everything Impact be sure LOLTNA.
