Kinda funny, because once upon a when all those years back when TNA tried to crack the India market the *first* time, they were pushing him to the goddamn moon in Ring ka King because he was "hometown" and "looked the shit" even though he was as green as grass. The best example I can think of is if Vince instantly decided David Otunga was ready to be WWE champion after his NXT debut [and I mean his first actual match months before Nexus was even a thing and NXT was a "contest"] and instantly threw him to the top of the card. Sutter won and Sienna is out with Laural Van Ness.

Sienna challenged Allie and Rosemary to a tag match next week.

Moose is out now, didnt say much before Eli Drake interrupted.

Drake and Adonis attacked Moose before he faught back. Dont guess the Impact Grand Championship wont be defended at Slammiversary as Moose will announce his tag partner next week.

Sonjay Dutt wins his first X Division Championship in his home country of India.

Seriously? He's only been wrestling there off and on for 14 fucking years. What a racist bullshit stunt.

Whats racist about that if I may ask? Its not like the guy has been great those 14 years and had alot of other guys who are in WWE now ahead of him. Obvious he was going to win with them being in India but it told a good story.

I don't agree so much on the "racist" part, but I do agree in seeing it as a bullshit stunt.

I can't be the only one who finds it humorous that it looks like iMPACT is copying WWE in hotshotting brown talent for a boost of market share in India. It can't be coincidental that this comes on the heels of "unhindered Jinder" getting the flying checkers king push that is about as transparent as Scotch tape, and now, suddenly, after all this time, Sonjay Dutt is worth enough to become a champion when they just so happen to be in India...


... but THEY WERE DOING IT FIRST! It takes a special kind of fuckup company to be the first at something and still come off as a copycat promotion. Dutt becomes a champion, Sheera gets a trophy, and both were talents they could have/should have been building for years. Years! Instead, it looks like a "me too" answer to Vince.

They're not copying WWE/Jinder. They were IN India and had an Indian guy win a midcard title in his home country to give the crowd a feel good moment. It's kind of just a typical wrestling story. There's a big difference between that and suddenly revolving an entire brand around a jobber just to boost business in a foreign country.

Tom has a good point though, Impact Wrestling did it first with the trip to India. That caused WWE to react the same way they did with the UK tournament and trying to control that market. Jinder being champion is a result of WWE not wanting to lose the Indian market to Impact. WWE being live and not taped though makes it look like Impact did it just because WWE has Jinder as champion.

It worked out just how the WWE wanted it to really. Cant speak for India but here in America WWE spun it as an Impact reaction.

The bigger point I'm trying to make isn't just that it looks reactionary to WWE... but that IMPACT HAS HAD YEARS OF A HEAD START WITH THIS MARKET AND IT STILL LOOKS REACTIONARY TO WWE!

Starting late tjis week as I was watching the NBA Draft and Louisville in the CWS but here we go.

3rd week in India, first match is X Division Sony Six way match. Davey Richards, Trevor Lee, Suicide, Braxton Sutter, Eddie Edwards, and Matt Sydal. Winner get another little trophy.

Its an elimination match and Suicide and Braxton Sutter have been eliminated.

Davey Richards has been DQ'ed and started to atrack Eddie Edwards who was also DQ'ed for defending himself against a guy that was already eliminated via DQ. Dont get that at all but I guess it builds the ruthlessness of the two leading up to their Slammiversary match.

Matt Sydal win the match and the little trophy. Might get a X Division Championship match now.

Laural Van Ness and Sienna vs Allie and Rosemary is next. Questionable whether Rosemary shows up or not.

Rosemary didn't come out during her entrance and Sienna and Larual thought she wasnt coming and went for Allie at the top of the ramp. Rosemary came from under the ring and stopped them and the match has started.

Sienna and Laural won with Sienna pinning Rosemary.

Passed out about half way through.

OK Simple Asshole, now that I have finally caught up on Impact, I wanted to say that your play by play spoilers are not helpful nor insightful. You're just spoiling for the sake of spoiling. There were some Impact things I would have liked to discuss, but I stayed away from this idiotic thread because I knew I'd read something to ruin something else for me. Would you consider a possible format change here?

What do you suggest?

Im more than happy to accommodate other posters but no one seems to watch so I just type what happens in case someone checks in to see whats happening without watching.

I've thought about just posting the recap videos that they put on YouTube. Is that something that would work better?

Refer to the NXT or Lucha Underground threads where the product is discussed, but not spoiled. I have been watching recently because a friend of mine told me he's going to be on the show soon.

Im all for discussion and such and that was the intent when I started it but not alot of discussion about Impact happens around here unless it lolTNA type stuff.

That's essentially how I catch up on Impact anyway.

Well, really almost anything except ROH as of late, I can actually catch an airing of that while at work.

I might switch to doing just that with my own critique of the show as I have grown tired of posting things as they happen but haven't had any objections until Anybody Thrilla here recently. If that would suit more posters and bring more discussion, I'm glad to do it.

A critique of that method on the whole, though:

I get the reason for the "shoddy" editing to help avoid any copyright strikes with consecutive footage matching, but sometimes, whoever compiles the video will cut promos mid word and spots mid move... a bit annoying, but it still gets the point of the whole show across in about 10 minutes.

For the record, I do not agree with the proposed changes.

This was never started as an Impact discussion or review thread. It clearly states that it is Simple Fan's thread. I quite enjoy the "stream of consciousness".

While I understand where Anybody Thrilla is coming from with the spoilers I also dont see how that keeps people from discussing and it hasnt stoped people like Tom Guycott and #1-wwf-fan anyway. I dont watch Raw and Smackdown live so I dont check in on those thrrads until I'm done watching so not to be spoiled, Impact is no different other than instead of a bunch of people its just me and erikman occasionally. As I've also said there isn't alot of discussion about Impact Wrestling unless its lol TNA type stuff or something the front office is or isn't doing, its hardly ever about the product.

Rockstar Spud vs Swoggle in a Mumbai Street Fight is next with a midget referee.

Match brike into a pantsing match as Spud tore the oants off tge ref before the ref tore Sluds pants off and then Swoggle put Spud through a table to win

Rosemary, Allie, and Braxton Sutter vs Sienna KM and Laural is next.

Rosemary won tbe match with a Red Wedding(F5) on Laural Van Ness

Main event time, El Patron, James Storm, Eddie Edwards and Mahabali Shera vs Lashley, EC3, Davey Richards, and Kongo Kong.

Lashley's team attacked Shrea who was first out for his team and didnt participate in the first part of the match but returned half way through to help his team win. Patron hit a stomp on Kongo Kong for the win.

TNA is now known as Global Force Wrestling.

Well technically they haven't been TNA since January. I really think this is happening so they dont have to make new titles and can just use the GFW titles.

The head office was still called TNA, they just labeled everything Impact be sure LOLTNA.

Oh, well hopefully they have made their minds up on what this promotion will be called.
