You make a dude look indestructible but don't spend enough time building up credible challengers for him. WHO is there for Braun to feud with on RAW, heel wise, after KO?

Corbin? Jinder?

Or, you take the time to develop that credible threat just to have him job clean in the big match and make that build a waste of time and pretty much not do shit else with it. :stares at Samoa Joe:

I really wish Get Him to the Greek was on Netflix now too.

I started thinking about Get Him To The Greek earlier when u said Forgetting Sarah Marshall

When I lived in LA I did extra work at the Greek Theatre once for "The Scream Awards".

M.I.A. performed there and wanted a bunch of people dressed like college students passed out on stage so I got paid to wear track pants and lay on stage for 90 seconds while M.I.A. did her thing #randomslikstory

KO will now cosplay Big Bossman at the PPV. Classic corrections officer Bossman, not Shield Bossman.

Dusty Rhodes was also into hard times.

slik 06-12-2018 12:09 AM

RIP Dusty

Booker T and Dusty Rhodes will be my forever dream team on commentary and I never got it.

The new episode of Photo Shoot tonight is with Goldust. Good as usual.

Helps that both actually have some real direction on RAW unlike other callups on the main roster.

Moon's problem is she got hurt at the worst time possible in NXT and Asuka being way more popular in the women's division. By the time it was her turn to lead the division, NXT Creative didn't have much for her in terms of ideas and a short window to be the top star because of Baszler.

They both kinda got fucked because of injury.

I actually think Ember was supposed to be the one to kill the streak before Asuka hit the main roster, but the injuries to both parties monkeywrenched that. Instead of being able to have a proper build and give Athena that total badass rub, it kinda fell apart.

I feel like Baszy-Basz was kind of an incidental, not a cause. I still think they had the idea of Deville < Baszler < Rousey in the frame of "We'll make our own MMA-type star... wait, we can get an actual MMA girl? Okay, lets start training... oh, the Rousey deal is going to work? Okay!" Consequence of which is that they just threw Deville in one of the carbon copy stables and hoped nobody would notice, and just kinda left Shayna to find her way because they landed the big fish they wanted in the first place. Luckily for everyone, she isn't one-dimensional. Baszler fell into a great ass groove of total smug cunt who has the legitimacy to back herself up, yet can turn around and play chickenshit heel.

On topic: I hate to say it, but let's see how long Ember's direction lasts. WWE doesn't have a great track record with cultivating good things for the long haul, and like to rub all the shiny off the new thing in a couple of short months with oversaturation, then let them fuck off to oblivion and tell them it's their fault they're not being seen.

I know. But how he said it reminded me more of Bubba than Dusty, if you wheel, baby.

I have REALLY been digging Shayna.

I missed Raw again but have seen enough to know that Constable Corbin has provided me with the changes I've needed to support him. He may be a real star now.

Does this surprise anyone in any way? Nikki Bella beat AJ Lee's title record similarly, and she was "injured" for a good chunk of it and didn't do shit. And Steph takes credit for the Women's Revolution (tm) when she stepped into it after AJ coined the prhase. All because fuck her husband;especially since she was constantly getting CM Punk chants when he was supposed to be persona non grata.

Longer term, better booking could have served that petty point WHILE having a better main event picture set up. Yes, even with Roman Reigns, who should have been a heel at least twice by now. Dethroning Brock could/should have been a path of redemption and made the crowd jizz themselves so much, it would look like planned pyrotechnics. Instead, it has been mishandled so much for so long, NOBODY wants to see it. Except Vince.

Me too, on several levels.

Rousey has the name and the jacket, but this chick totally makes me think of a female Piper.

Ya gotta love how they tried to justify Brock passing Punk's old record by saying he might not defend the title as much as some would like, but, hey, it's OK because he's a prizefighter.:roll:

Initially, I completely missed the final word of this statement... lets just say, that's an episode of Raw I could get behind. ;)

That's something else that bugs me in the bounds of "lazy booking": person x can't defend their title within 30 days, so they're stripped/title is vacated/held in abeyance. But Brock can show up whenever the fuck he feels like, and that's 100% okay and is never addressed.

Either be consistent, or vacate the rule. Don't be inconsistent with your storytelling.

Mr. Nerfect 06-17-2018 12:08 AM

I generally agree with the point of cohesion in storylines, but I don't think they've done the 30-day rule in forever.
