Still random RVD being there since he's TNA. What are they getting out of it

Anybody Thrilla 07-22-2019 10:50 PM

Booker T should finally make good on his threat to Hogan TONIGHT.

Emperor Smeat 07-22-2019 10:50 PM

So did WWE release Alicia Fox and not tell anyone about it?

Still doesn't make sense why she was announced among all the former stars and legends advertised for this show unless she doesn't work there anymore.

Lock Jaw 07-22-2019 10:51 PM

Still don't know who the blonde with the long hair is.... Jillian Hall?

Anybody Thrilla 07-22-2019 10:51 PM

Boogeyman should not be on that fucking stage.

RP 07-22-2019 10:51 PM

Boogeyman has a title run in him for sure.

The worst part is I don’t think most of the people on stage don’t actually have Legends contracts like Boogeyman does.

I'm not even bothered by his contract, but that character shouldn't just be paling around with Jillian Hall and Melina. Looks ridiculous.

rez 07-22-2019 10:55 PM

I need to find some Broken Skull IPA....reading it's actually pretty good.

Anybody Thrilla 07-22-2019 10:55 PM

AUSTIN: Some of us crap ourselves!

(Zoom in on Mark Henry, nodding vigorously)

Anybody Thrilla 07-22-2019 10:56 PM

What the fuck is Austin talking about?

Evil Vito 07-22-2019 10:56 PM

Lol Cena not out there with the rest. He really did have to leave.

Triple A 07-22-2019 10:57 PM

austin listing things he ate last night 39857879x more entertaining than anyone currently on the roster

RP 07-22-2019 10:58 PM

Vince needs to give Austin a blank check to be the RAW GM.

Lock Jaw 07-22-2019 10:58 PM

Good ending, but would have been better with Christian cutting the final promo of the night

Anybody Thrilla 07-22-2019 10:58 PM

Terrible ending, but I didn't COMPLETELY hate the show.

Surprised that he hasn't been lured back for one more match via some Saudi money

Triple A 07-22-2019 10:59 PM

Kelly Kelly so hot

RP 07-22-2019 11:00 PM

Any reason The Rock or Big Show wouldnt be there?

Emperor Smeat 07-22-2019 11:01 PM

That might have been the most rambling Stone Cold has ever done in a promo.

Meltzer did mention he originally wasn't meant to be on tonight's show due to being very busy with another film. Guess he managed to get a compromise made in order to show up at the beginning.

rez 07-22-2019 11:01 PM

Figured Hurricane was gonna eat a stunner

Anybody Thrilla 07-22-2019 11:01 PM

You can't just double fist IPAs like they're Steveweisers.

Evil Vito 07-22-2019 11:02 PM

Love how USA forced WWE to fly all of these people in for a nostalgia show rather than let them build to the second biggest PPV of the year

Evil Vito 07-22-2019 11:04 PM

Not even an angle to try to hook people for next week

The Rock is probably doing Hobbs and Shaw promo. As for Big Show, Red Lobster is currently in the middle of Crab Fest.

Evil Vito 07-22-2019 11:06 PM

The 24/7 stuff made the show worthwhile.

That said I haven't fully enjoyed a nostalgia show since the Raw 15th Anniversary Show and I'll always view that show with rose colored glasses because I was there live and it featured a battle royal that included Steve Blackman.

Emperor Smeat 07-22-2019 11:07 PM

Very underwhelming show tonight based on the hype going into it. Only the 24/7 stuff and Austin's drunk promo were interesting from the legends/former stars side and the non-reunion stuff was average at best.

I kinda assumed that would get covered on SmackDown since Truth works all the shows.

Anybody Thrilla 07-22-2019 11:11 PM

Raw is replaying on USA at 11:45, for some odd reason.

Austin 13,000,000,000,000 x more charismatic than anyone on current roster was my big takeaway from RAW tonight

Apparently this was the size of the crowd for Smackdown's house show while RAW Reunion was going on. Doesn't seem like it got any better as the show went on according to the same reporter from PWTorch.

GD 07-23-2019 12:30 AM

At first I thought that they were cooling down the wildcard format with just Carmella appearing on RAW. But then I realized that we also had RVD appear on the show :shifty:

slik 07-23-2019 01:18 AM

A comment I have seen repeatedly across the internet about RAW Reunion is that it came across as a series finale.

Interesting.

Anybody Thrilla 07-23-2019 01:32 AM

Ohhhhhh, maybe the restart is NOW

Emperor Smeat 07-23-2019 01:51 AM

According to the Observer, this show had a bunch of rewrites made not because of Vince but because Creative wrote and planned out the show before any of the legends and former stars got medically tested first.

Droford 07-23-2019 03:03 AM

My only takeaway was all the women on the active roster and Kelly Kelly Candice Michelle and Alundra Blayze won the 24/7 title

Bleh.

I'm holding out hope that he'll promo in the street clothes, but have matches as The Fiend.

I would not have Bray do any promos in the ring. If he needs to do a promo, then it needs to be a Firefly Fun House taped segment. Let the two "characters" be separate. There is no reason for Bray to do a promo in the ring.

Evil Vito 07-23-2019 07:13 AM

In a record that seems like it’ll forever be safe, Pat Patterson became the oldest champion in WWE history at 78 years old.

ClockShot 07-23-2019 07:14 AM

Buzzed through the results over on the main page.

Doesn't look like I missed much. Some of ya's was right in predicting the 24/7 belt being a hot potato for the night.

Meh, so did Raw 1000 and Raw 25.

James Steele 07-23-2019 09:10 AM

Raw 1000 at least had CM Punk’s heel turn.

Simple Fan 07-23-2019 11:55 AM

Thought it was a good show. Cena was a surprise to start the show. Biggest surprise for me though was RVD showing up and Street Profit dude talking about the smoking session. Can't go wrong ending the show with Stone Cold.

I didn't like that throughout the show the legends and the faces won everything. They completely shit on The OC, could have had the NWO back the OC at leadt. Best thing to come from that though was the possibility of HBK vs AJ Styles bit at the end. Good show but sad they have to pull this to have one.

Simple Fan 07-23-2019 11:59 AM

Also didn't recognize Madusa and thought she was Ivory at first going by what she was wearing. Didn't get the "won't have it long" line until she was walking to commentary and I realized it was her.

James Steele 07-23-2019 01:18 PM

AJ vs HBK

Anybody Thrilla 07-23-2019 01:27 PM

I was opposed to HBK coming out of retirement, but since he already has, I'd love to see a program with AJ. Hopefully culminating in an AJ win where he acquires the moniker "Heart Break Man".

XL 07-23-2019 04:17 PM

Nah that ending was awful.

Anybody Thrilla 07-23-2019 04:43 PM

Terrible, honestly. But maybe they're finally putting all that shit to bed? Hopefully? Please?

Fuck.

Evil Vito 07-23-2019 05:39 PM

Willing to bet they do another nostalgia show in 6 months

rez 07-23-2019 05:45 PM

So there's Smackdown tonight and Smackdown this weekend on the network?

Sepholio 07-23-2019 07:21 PM

Stone Cold was channeling his inner Scott Hall last night.

Rammsteinmad 07-24-2019 10:41 AM

Terribly predictable and generic legends show.

Rammsteinmad 07-24-2019 10:46 AM

Wish they'd stop using the same old guys over and over. Wanna see people return that we haven't seen since they left. Ken Shamrock appearance would be awesome! John Morrison! Carlito! Even some WCW throwbacks like Norman Smiley would be fun.

Loose Cannon 07-24-2019 11:41 AM

Hall and Nash are actually 60 years old now. had no idea.

Lock Jaw 07-24-2019 12:36 PM

Nash still looked great. Out of the legends, except for Christian of course, he looked most like the one who could legit come back for a match and not seem totally out of place.

Evil Vito 07-24-2019 04:14 PM

Imagine if they had, for example, had Steve Austin endorse Kevin Owens in his feud with Shane McMahon. If they'd had Samoa Joe choke out Hulk Hogan. If they'd actually acknowledged Alundra Blayze as a genuine trailblazer rather than a reductionist "the one that put a belt in the bin", and used her to put over Becky Lynch or Alexa Bliss.

It wouldn't have been at all difficult to use this show to put over some current talent, or move things forward somehow. Even having Seth Rollins actually put over by The Kliq rather than looking like the dorky kid wanting to hang out with his older brother's cool friends would have been something.

Anybody Thrilla 07-24-2019 04:25 PM

Wasn't Sid supposed to be on this show?

Fignuts 07-24-2019 04:25 PM

lol @ alundra getting worked into a shoot on twitter

Evil Vito 07-24-2019 04:44 PM

Another thing that feels played out about anytime they bring back legends is that they always have to be portrayed as a face. Kevin Nash has said a few years ago that he loved what Bullet Club were doing in Japan. Couldn't Hall and Nash have stood behind the OC and made it a 5 on 5 instead of just merging DX and nWo into a babyface supergroup because Kliq?

I just think you can add more to stories to not only use legends to put over current talent but to also let those characters stay true to themselves. I remember when Edge had to play the helpless legend in peril when Rollins threatened to break his neck with the Curb Stomp if Cena didn't agree to reinstate the Authority. As soon as Cena relented, Edge should've popped right up and he and Rollins have a laugh. Rollins enlisted a fellow sleazeball to trick Cena. It's totally something Edge would've done at the height of his career during the Rated-R Superstar days.

Pffft! Why do an arcing storyline to help put current guys over when you can just have "legends" cameo every once in awhile?

Yes, I thought the whole time Nash and Hall would attack the rest. they even were behind the other guys for a few seconds when they were doing the stare down and i thought yes they are going to do it. and then i remembered they don't do anything out of the ordinary anymore

KIRA 07-25-2019 09:16 PM

For me it just cheapens the memory.

WWE is more sophisticated than that now.
