yeah, I'll have to go back and look at the date and stats then to see what pace he was on, I either had a valid reason (and it could only be stats related) or mis-typed.
and the outstanding = average was refrencing him saying Tiki has always been an outstanding back, which isn't true. Also, good year and oustanding pace are two completely different things. There are plenty of players having good years but are far from being on an outstanding pace. Wait, I know how I can settle his disagrement. "Hey Trips, hope your kids get Aids" |
no one wants to admit they are wrong :'(

I know, disgusting. Amani Toomer has some shit wrong with his hamstring I think, and Ike Hilliard is just a piece of shit. Has like 35 fumbles this season.
|
Still though its not like Tim Carter is still some nasty probowl WR or something, they don't really have a lot of talent on that team. Toomer isn't even that great, neither is Hilliard. Tiki barber is like the really only good offensive player they got, Shockey is an average TE..everyone is just on his nuts because he flips out and shit.
|
Nah, Shockey was damn good. He used to have great catches all the time, but now he's lost it all or something.
|
LOL you don't "lose it all" after 2 years of being a pro.

Maybe Eli will be the answer for him. |
Nervous Ferret"s 1st annual "What the Jets need to do to win" post
1. Most importantly They need to make Roethlisberger throw the ball. I don't care about all the "how great he is" bullshit. He is still a rookie, and if you give him a chance,... he will fuck up. 2. The way the Jets accomplish #1. They need to "contain" the Steeler's rushing attack. By no means will the Jets ever be able to stop and shut down the steelers. But by containing Duce and The Bus could mean a Jets victory on Sunday. 3. When Ben does throw they need to get immediate pressure, and get inside his head. This will most likely be more difficult than the run-stopping due to the ijury of John Abraham. Okay onto offense 4. Lamont Jordan. He could be the perfect change-up to Curtis Martin and to counteract the Steelers. It would be like trying to fight fire with fire but only fire would prevail. Lamont has hardly played this season so he's completely fresh and could be vital to the stretch run. Lamont 10-15 carries may equal a Jets win. 5. Eat up clock. They need to get 1st downs and keep the Steelers D on the field. Wearing them out in the beggining of the game may be crucial at the end. 6. Recievers need to make plays. Chad will put the ball where it needs to be. The recievers just need to catch it. __________________________________________________ note: That means don't throw it to Anthony Becht. Ever. So thats basucally it. Review: - make Roethlisberger throw, and get pressure on him - contain the steelers rushing attack - Lamont Jordan. And lots of him. - Get 1st downs - NO BECHT! |
Nervous Ferret's 2nd annual "What the jets need to do to win post:
okay What they need to beat the Seahawks: -stop the big play [Alexander will do well, but just hold him to the least amount of big plays as possible. -Shut down Darrell Jackson [he's been big/now shut him down.] -control the ball on offense -LAMONT!!!!!!! |
Come'on Giants don't fuck this up.
Will give the Giants some respect and give the Pats a shot at home field for the playoffs. |
YYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH
|
Sweet..Giants on top right now
|
ELIIII
2 point conversion? Come on coach...retarded. Eli = tearing it up. Shockey going crazy = I like the Steelers a tad more but this is a good game to watch... |
Hines Ward is a piece of shit and I want to throw a brick at his stupid round face
|
lol
Pretty good game. |
Fucking Giants
|
Ok, some explain to me... WTF was the reason for a 2point conversion?
I didn't watch the whole game, did the Giants not have a place kicker? The numbers made no sense to go for two at that point. |
Eli finally did well  the beginnings of a new era!!!!!!
Maybe |
Yeah I don't know why he went for two.
Steeler had been kicking field goals all game, so he might have been thinking two field goals wouldn't beat them? Im not exactly sure... |
I cannot wait until next year for the Giants. LETS GO BILLS!

December 18, 2004 EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) -- The New York Giants joined the list of NFL teams complaining about the officiating. Following their 33-30 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday, the Giants griped about a roughing-the-passer call by referee Gerald Austin and a non-call on a potential pass interference play late in the fourth quarter. ``I guess we must have forgot to send someone a Christmas card over there in the black and white shirts,'' center Shaun O'Hara said after the Giants (5-9) lost their seventh straight game. ``I have never seen so many lopsided calls and that's frustrating,'' O'Hara added. ``You are playing your heart out and you put your heart and soul on the field, and to have stupid calls like that is frustrating.'' Pittsburgh was penalized twice for 14 yards. The Giants lost 55 yards on five penalties. In the past two weeks, Seattle coach Mike Holmgren and Tennessee coach Jeff Fisher have voiced concerns about the officiating. Holmgren complained about a late touchdown catch by Dallas' Keyshawn Johnson that was clearly out of bounds in a Seahawks loss. Fisher complained about an inaccurate blow to the head penalty called by referee Tom White that cost the Titans a game against Kansas City on Monday. The call that annoyed the Giants was a roughing-the-passer against safety Brent Alexander in the second quarter. Alexander, Carlos Emmons and Fred Robbins surrounded Ben Roethlisberger on a third-down sack. Austin blew his whistle and the other two Giants released the Steelers' quarterback. Alexander seemed to be caught off balance when the other two let go and he and Roethlisberger fell. Austin called it unnecessary roughing. The Steelers got 15 yards, a first down and eventually scored a then go-ahead touchdown on the drive. ``I was holding him and we just fell over,'' Alexander said. ``I didn't pick him up or try to drive him or whatever. We just fell over.'' What annoyed Alexander even more was one of the other officials who he was not able to identify told him it was ``a dumb play.'' Three plays after the penalty, Alexander said he was still so annoyed his missed an easy tackle on Verron Hayes on a third-down play. ``I was still complaining and lost my focus on a play that would have gotten us off the field,'' Alexander said. The call came shortly after Steelers safety Troy Polamalu threw Giants running back Tiki Barber to the ground five yards out of bounds on the Pittsburgh side of the field. The officials never saw it, although Barber complained. The Giants' second complaint concerned a deep pass by Eli Manning to Amani Toomer with 3:31 to play and the Steelers ahead 33-30. Toomer had a step on cornerback Willie Williams on a third-and-2 from the Giants 44. Toomer was in stride to catch the pass and Williams stepped on his feet trying to catch up. The officials felt both players were going for the ball and said the contact was incidental. Toomer insisted it was pass interference. ``I was going to catch the ball,'' Toomer said. ``I had him beaten and he pushed me in the back. It's a tough way to lose a ball game, especially since we played so hard.'' </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE> |
I didn't see the first one.
But the 2nd one was not interferance. The defender was looking at the ball, it wasn't even close. Quote:
|
No, actually, it sorta was.

Quote:
The guy had already turned and was looking at the ball before there was any contact. The rule is, the Defender has the same rights to the ball when making a play as a Receiver" It's strictly when making a play on the ball which he was. Had he not turned around, or even if his body was facing the ball, but his head looked at the defender it would have been interference. It wasn't, simple as that. and I was rooting for the Giants yesterday and would have loved to get the call, before you start w/ the whole "You just always talk smack about the Giants" bullshit. |
He gave him a nudge if you looked close enough...Had he not been interfered with, he would have caught it in stride and probably taken it to the house. Iffy call and I'm not really surprised they didnt call it as crap as the refs have been this year.
So, a guy can basically grab a guy and yank him to the ground but as long as he is looking toward the ball it will not be called...k thanks for clearing that up :) |
see Herm, Look what happens when you give the ball to Lamont :D

LAMONTTTTTTTTTT
If they gave him the ball some more against the Steelers, the Jets would have won. |
Hope they can somehow re-sign him. :'(

What is up with ferret's sig
Disturbing |
JETS  One more...or maybe not

If the defender is playing the ball, looking at the ball he can make contact w/ the WR because he is treated as a WR. Had he been looking at the player and not the ball and bumped into him it would have been called. Like it or not, when the body contact was made, he was looking at the ball, the refs made the right call. and trust me, I wanted the Giants to win... now I gotta hope for Baltimore and/or Buffalo to give the Pats a shot at home field for the playoffs. |
To me, being a Giants fan it looked as if the "pass interference" wasn't one at all. Looked like they just got tripped up to me. The INT on that play pissed me off but oh well.
I only caught the end because I was working but from what I've heard Eli played magnificently. I can't really comment on much but to have an outing such as this and being 5-8 shows a little bit of heart. Better that they just didn't give up or lay down or whatever. I consider Pittsburgh to be the best team in the league and to put a scare in them and only lose by 3 is a feat in and of itself. |
was at the Jets game yesterday, 20 rows up from the feild on the 45, awesome game

Jesus christ if I had used Lamont Jordan instead of Willis McGahee than I would have had a huge upset over KoOS in the playoffs :'(

I meant your avatar
Also, VEL, I never said I was surprised they didn't call it. That's how it is but I don't think I like it. 4 arms? It's not hard to be looking at the ball but grab the guy and interfere with him. |

I'm fine w/ the call (and I wanted the Giants to win), simply because it's the same way they've made that call for a few years. It was interesting, one of the sports shows was talking today, if the Refs didn't change the way they called interferance on DB (calling the clutching and grabbing more then they used to) do you think Manning and other QB's would be putting up such great numbers. |

All of you New Yorkers here should be posting getting on the Jets ass, if they don't win they could somehow miss the playoffs right?
|
Nah, if they don't win and eathier Bills or Broncos lose, they will still make it,
BILLS ARE DOWN :D |
Jonathan Vilma is crazy.
|
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
26-21 j.e.t.s. jets jets jets |
ARE JETS GOING TO WIN??????????????
|
Damn, here I am rooting for the Jets and I forgot that if they win, it stops the Minnesota choke. GO RAMS!
|
AGGGGH. St. Louis just pulled ahead. Carolina scored to put them within 3. Buffalo just scored to put them. I was thinking the Jets could afford to lose this but if Buffalo wins, there's a chance they won't make the playoffs. But if the Jets DO win, Minnesota makes it, which just wouldn't be much fun. WHO DO I ROOT FOR?!? I'm so confused! I feel like Dan Aykroyd at the end of that movie Celtic Pride!
|
<---- Totally losing my shit here!
|
RAMS fuckers.

I'm not sure if I should be happy that the Vikings made it

|
Haha nice job jets.. Rams have momentum.. watch out seattle.. here we come
|
I can see the Vikings winning, Michael Smith can too, but I don't feel like explaining my reasoning right now. Be back later.
|
This loss to the Giants better not have discouraged Parcells from coming back next year. Hell, Vinny either for that matter. Don't know why... I just have my moments where I love me some Vinny Testaverde. When Julius Jones had that last TD run, they were so into iton the sidelines. It was great. Then the defense had to go play like shit again and start freaking out and clotheslining Eli and what have you.
