Who cares if he is 4-0? He hasn't pitched that well at all so far this year. Neither has Blanton, but the key thing here is they both have 30 starts left. How many times to people have to explain this to you before you understand?

Evil Vito 04-27-2006 07:30 PM

Delmon Young, baseball's top prospect, has been suspended indefinately for throwing a bat at an umpire.

Fucking moron. He might have to spend another year in AAA now.

Maybe the Mets should offer Victor Zambrano for Delmon Young :shifty:

YOUR Hero 04-27-2006 09:47 PM

Jays brought up a prospect from AAA to fill in for AJ Burnett. He didn't look too bad for the 2+ innings I seen him. He went 4 innings, left the game trailing 3-2. 2 wlaks and 2 hitter batters cost him. Jays have a deep and decent farm system of young pitchers.

Chacin was better last year and he's already better this year

RoXer 04-28-2006 12:08 AM

How? The only answer you could have is he has given up like 4 less hits and has a slightly lower ERA than Blanton yet it is still in the 5's.

Get outta here.

Gertner 04-28-2006 12:13 AM

and blanton is 2-2 and chacin is undefeated.

Nervous Ferret 04-28-2006 12:19 AM

That is pretty sick with Delmon Young throwing the bat. He through that harddd

Dragon 04-28-2006 12:21 AM

You are putting way too much importance on how good a pitcher is on something that can't control completely.

Dragon 04-28-2006 12:23 AM

Anyways, yeah. Saw the video of Young throwing the bat a little while ago. When I first heard of it I thought he just flipped it against the ump while standing right next to him. He walks away so you can't even see him on the screen and then chucks it pretty damn hard, lol. Pretty crazy.

Gertner 04-28-2006 12:26 AM

yeah it's called not giving up more runs than the other team. it's liek grant fuhr in hockey. sure he'd win games 8-7 but all that matter is that he won.

Dragon 04-28-2006 12:30 AM

He can't control how many runs his own team scores, so wins/losses really don't show much about which pitcher is better though. I'm not even talking about Chacin/Blanton just saying in general BTW.

Gertner 04-28-2006 12:54 AM

lol blanton has done shit all. ouch sophmore slump has hit

oh yeah and chacin has pitched so far against baltimore, yankees, boston and minny and he's 4-0. beat that

Joey Slugs 04-28-2006 04:10 AM

If Delmon Young isn't suspended for a year (they should throw him out of baseball for the shit he pulled), there is something wrong with the game.

This stupid million dollar bonus baby fuckhead walks around like he deserves to be there. No one is bigger than the game. It's about fucking time these minor leaguers started fucking acting like it.

Don't give me the "he's got the talent" bullshit either. I had the talent. Most guys that I played with in rookie ball camp had the talent. Never saw anyone of us throwing a bat at an ump because we got rung up.

Fucking bullshit.

Ban him. I don't give a fuck who he is.

The Miz 04-28-2006 11:46 AM

Who is better, Blanton or Chacin. Although most all non-biased people would say Blanton, it still has to be considered a toss-up.

But one thing is clear.

Blanton > Burnett

The Miz 04-28-2006 11:47 AM

I see just 2 wins for Halladay. When is he going to learn how to pitch?

Gertner 04-28-2006 07:40 PM

differnce is. Blanton ERA AND record blows

The Miz 04-28-2006 08:03 PM

I was gonna make a long post about how you are stupid, but nevermind, youre just really stupid basically

YOUR Hero 04-28-2006 09:35 PM

Wait a second. everything I had read, said he just flipped the bat and it hit the ump. You guys are telling me he threw it hard? - If that's the case, he should be banned a minimum 1 year past this season.

Didn't just flip it. He got about 10 feet away or so and flug it at him. You're right.... 1 year minimum.

BCWWF 04-29-2006 02:17 PM

So anyway, Joey Slugs was in the minors?

RoXer 04-29-2006 07:33 PM

Oh, fucking Loaiza. I hate my fantasy team right now.

YOUR Hero 04-29-2006 08:07 PM

Yankees destroyed my Jays today. They scored in every inning. I noted there were a lot of high scoring blowouts today.

BCWWF 04-29-2006 09:11 PM

I don't know what to say about the Twins last two games. Either the Tigers offense really is THAT good, or else their offense is good and our pitching is really, really awful.

The Miz 04-29-2006 10:13 PM

A gift from God to the A's. Down 5-1 to the Kansas City Royals in the 3rd after Esteban Loaiza put up a line of

1.0 IP, 4 H, 5 ER, 6 BB, HR, 0 K

, God takes a giant piss, and it never happened.

YOUR Hero 04-29-2006 10:43 PM

Loaiza should still be given a loss, just for the principle of it.

BCWWF 04-29-2006 11:08 PM

Lol, watched the first inning of that. Pretty bad.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-30-2006 12:27 AM

Red Sox finally pick up a win, with Papelbon getting a save to tie some type of rookie record with saves in April (Why does baseball always seem to have the pointless "records?") Sox started out great this year but they haven't looked too good as of late, Manny got another homer atleast. Still real early, but I'd rather see them doing good instead of shitty haha, Schilling tomorrow so hopefully it's a win. Kazmir always owns the Sox though, so we'll see.

RoXer 04-30-2006 01:58 AM

Wow. My Prayers WERE answered.

ct2k 04-30-2006 09:48 AM

Holy shizer, Twins got destroyed last night:|

Loose Cannon 04-30-2006 09:54 AM

my man Aaron Harang 4-1. He was one of my favorites with the A's. Too bad they got rid of him.

The Miz 04-30-2006 10:24 AM

What happens when you pitch in the NL. But, he would be much better than Esteban Loaiza; Harang's fastball is faster than 70 mph.

Gertner 04-30-2006 11:18 AM

good lord Towers. Not good

YOUR Hero 04-30-2006 12:39 PM

did you see Towers freeze up yesterday when the ball was hit back to him? Damon's scores from third on a sharply hit ball, back to Towers, he double clutches a throw to 2nd, no throw, he double clutches a throw to 1st, no throw finally he double clutches a throw to home plate, which is too late and not accurate. He needs a shrink or something.

Dragon 04-30-2006 06:02 PM

Chacin and Mussina both pitched pretty decent today, Yankees win 4-1. Definitely been the ace so far, Johnson hasn't been too consistent.

Two games at Fenway next, can't wait to see the reaction Damon gets lol.

The Miz 04-30-2006 06:18 PM

Blanton (W) 5 IP, 6 H, 4 ER, 5 BB, 4 K, HR
Chacin (L) 6 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 6 K, HR

I'm beginning to see the light Gertner. W-L is a good way to determine who is better.

Did they boo him hard?

Loose Cannon 05-01-2006 07:48 PM

hmmm, guess they cheered him cause I see a picture of him tipping his helmet

FakeLaser 05-01-2006 07:51 PM

I wish I could tell you, but I'm at work and have to watch the game via Yahoo box scores.

FakeLaser 05-01-2006 07:53 PM

Just downloaded flash on this computer so now at least I have GameChannel...

Dragon 05-01-2006 10:25 PM

I dunno, bringing in probably the worst pitcher in our bullpen in Tanyon Sturtze in a tie game in the 8th seems pretty smart to me. Honestly, who could not see Sturtze letting at least a run up when he came in? Haven't had confidence in Sturtze in quite some time.

It is kind of ironic though that the very reason Myers is brought in this offseason was to get Ortiz out but he gives up a 3 run homerun the first time he sees him and puts the game out of reach.

lol, I dunno. Wasn't the best game played by the Yankees, bad baserunning and whatnot. But that decision by Torre to put Sturtze in there was awful.

MVP 05-01-2006 10:26 PM

AL EAST

Red Sox - 15-11
Yankees - 13-11

Dragon 05-01-2006 10:26 PM

At the first at bat Damon actually got cheered quite a bit mixed in with the boos. You could see a lot of people clapping and stuff. But after that he was booed at every at bat which was expected.

FakeLaser 05-01-2006 10:53 PM

I don't know why Torre has such a hard on for Sturtze. He always puts him in. Hopefully Dotel comes back strong so we only have to deal with Sturtze in mop up situations.

Dragon 05-01-2006 11:20 PM

Yeah, Sturtze was effective for about half a year and Torre just falls in love with him. He trusts him so much in big spots; I hate to see him come out at all but in a tie game against the Sox in the 8th is just ridiculous. Torre sees him as the second set up man to Farnsy, but he shouldn't be anywhere near the game when it is close.

Proctor was in the pen warming up wasn't he? I have so much more faith in him than Sturtze.

Dragon 05-01-2006 11:21 PM

BTW, with Small coming back they sent Matt Smith down to AAA. He didn't pitch that much but he was good while he was here, I don't think he gave up any hits in a couple innings. Really should give him a chance and just find something to do with Sturtze.

FakeLaser 05-02-2006 12:22 AM

Proctor has improved a lot. I think he's gonna be solid. I'd rather have him in the game in the 7th than Sturtze. Sturtze should be used if we are getting crapped on big time and we need someone to eat innings, that is it.

I didn't really get a chance to see much of Smith. I doubt he'll make it back up if Dotel is any good, which I think he will be.

Rotation:
Johnson
Mussina
Wang
Chacon
Pavano

Bullpen
Longman - Small, Wright
Mop-up - Sturtze, Villone
Lefty specialist - Myers
7th - Dotel
8th - Farnsworth
CL - Rivera

Hopefully the staff turns out like that. Not too sure what to expect out of Pavano though. I don't really have much confidence in the guy, but I'd rather have him starting than Wright. Ideally we'd have Clemens, but yeah I wouldn't count on that, if he's going anywhere it's Houston.

Dragon 05-02-2006 12:43 AM

Yeah, Proctor has been good this year. He's been brought in some tight spots too and has done fairly well.

Dotel will be a huge boost for the pen when he returns as well. Dotel, Farnsworth and Rivera will be a great back end of the bullpen if Dotel produces when he gets back.

Pavano is the biggest question mark on this team. I doubt he will come back and produce much better than Wright which is pretty sad. What month did he get injured last season? It must be close to a year since he's been in the rotation. Him getting injured when he does return or is close to returning will be no shock to me so I'm really not gonna count on him for much. Maybe he will suprise me and actually come back and pitch for the rest of the season strong but I doubt it.

I dunno, its gonna be interesting how the rotation situation works out.

FakeLaser 05-02-2006 12:50 AM

I hope he's halfway decent, because I wouldn't be too comfortable with Small or Wright out there.

Bottom line is Pavano is a mediocre pitcher. We'll try to replace him next year with Zito but he's on the decline too. Ditto for Mark Mulder, who will also be a FA. Pettite will be a free agent too but I don't know if he'd return to NY. Kelvim Escobar and Jason Schmidt are the only other 2 free agent starters worth anything and I don't know how they'd fare in NY (wouldn't mind Escobar but I feel like he wouldn't stay healthy).

Dragon 05-02-2006 12:51 AM

Hopefully A-Rod and Matsui get back on track soon too, lol. I swear the last couple times I've seen A-Rod hit he either strikes out swinging on the high fastball or just gets a cheap walk. Trying too hard again.

FakeLaser 05-02-2006 12:52 AM

They'll come around.

Hopefully A-Rod comes around when we need him though.

Dragon 05-02-2006 12:56 AM

Yeah, it will be a boost if he is even halfway decent. I hope we don't trade for Zito near the deadline, we will get robbed on whatever we have to give Oakland.

Interesting to see what the rotation will look like at the end of this year, or next year. I can't wait until some prospects actually start going through the minors, seeing as all of our talent is in A-ball. Phillip Hughes should be great from what I've read and heard. Would be nice to have a pitcher from our system actually develop into something.

FakeLaser 05-02-2006 12:59 AM

Yeah, probably won't be seeing anything like that for about 3 years though. Oh well.

Kinda sad that the last top tier starter we've produced and kept is Pettite.

Dragon 05-02-2006 01:03 AM

It's gonna be a weird time between when Johnson/Mussina are done and some prospects develop. Obviously George is gonna do something, but we are going to have to rely on free agents which really hasn't worked out with the past few we have signed.

FakeLaser 05-02-2006 01:08 AM

Johnson scares the crap out of me. I really don't know how long he can go.

Mussina is looking great this year though, he's healthy and pitching like he did in his prime. He's more of a finesse pitcher so I think he can keep it up for a couple more seasons. Hopefully we can get him a ring before it's too late.

Dragon 05-02-2006 01:12 AM

Yeah, not too sure about Johnson either. How long is his contract for? One more year or is this his last?

As for Mussina he probably could go a while longer. I know we have an option for him next year at like 18 million haha. That obviously won't be picked up no matter how good he does this year. But I've heard he would like to sign a smaller contract to come back next year, would like to see that happen so he could add some stability to the rotation.

FakeLaser 05-02-2006 01:17 AM

If I recall correctly, next year is Johnson's last year. I don't see him pitching for the Yankees beyond that.

Moose will be back at a reduced rate.

Dragon 05-02-2006 01:21 AM

I dunno, don't know how effective Johnson will be after this year. Guess we will see.

lol I missed that, they were chanting "traitor" (or that dude with the sign was chanting "trader") when he was in the outfiled but that wasn't even the best chant. The best one was when Giambi came up in the first and the crowd started chanting steriods.

Damon is a little bitch though, it was like 75% boos then he tipped his cap and got some cheers after he did that. People threw money at him in the outfield, pretty good shit. On top of Mirabelli making a crazy return, overall great game for early in the season. These games always are classics though. Red Sox lead the series 46-45 now :shifty:

One my friends works at Fenway and he said some guy had a stereo right outside of the park with the audio from the Damon interview before last off season where he said he would never go to the Yankees, even if they offered him more money. Kept playing it over and over

FakeLaser 05-02-2006 11:26 PM

People threw 20 dollar bills. Wouldn't mind being on the grounds crew.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 05-02-2006 11:30 PM

They looked fake to me. If people threw legit money then they are idiots haha especially considered the amount of money they paid for those tickets. I saw tickets on stubhub.com going for almost 1G like 3 weeks ago.

Ortiz's homer in that game probably would have been the longest homerun in the history of Fenway Park if the wind wasn't blowing straight in from center field. He still hit out with the wind, it hit the bat right at the perfect spot. The wind saved a few homeruns that game though.

Lackey was the instigator. He yelled at Kendall for wearing a ton of armor and Kendall yelled back and charged the mound. Lackey has 6 inches and 30 pounds on Kendall so I don't see how he was being a faggot.

The Miz 05-03-2006 11:40 AM

All Kendall did was crowd the plate, which is not illegal. Lackey did the only thing Angels players/fans/coaches know how to do, whine and complain. Lackey instigated the entire thing, and his punishment is sitting out 1 whole start. But yeah, Kendall's a fag.

I'm glad it was Kendall charging Lackey and not Posada charging Beckett, then ESPN would have a 3-hour special on it. They might even create a new channel so they could have 24-hour coverage on it.

MVP 05-03-2006 12:46 PM

So why did he have to charge the mound over a comment? It's not like he got beamed. Lackey may have instigated, but Kendall was the one who started the physcial fight regardless of Lackey's size advantage. Kendall should be suspended as well.

Supreme Olajuwon 05-03-2006 02:18 PM

It's the American League. A batter can't let a pitcher talk shit because he won't bat during the game. Kendall should get suspended but he did what he was supposed to do.

The Miz 05-03-2006 06:09 PM

lol neither one of them have been suspended yet, so what are you even complaining about? Don't worry; penis-loving, skirt-wearing, flamboyant homogayfag Kendall is going to get suspended.

MVP 05-03-2006 06:48 PM

I read that Lackey was the only one who got suspended, which would have been bullshit so I said something.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 05-03-2006 06:58 PM

Kendall is mad cuz he hasn't hit a homerun since 2004

RoXer 05-03-2006 07:13 PM

lol

The Miz 05-03-2006 07:27 PM

It actually couldn't have worked out better for the A's, they got Lackey out of the game, they won the game, and now they have Kendall and his T-ball swings out of the lineup for 3-5 games.

The Outlaw 05-03-2006 08:30 PM

Didn't the same thing happen with Kendall and one of his current teamates not too long ago?

Jesus Shuttlesworth 05-03-2006 08:49 PM

From what I've heard, it doesn't really seem like one guy as at fault. Like Kendall has a rep for leaning out to get hit so Lackey said something about his elbow protector. Then a fight started, don't really see how you can blame anyone, if anything I would thing it would go more towards Kendall but I haven't seen the play yet, so I can't pass judgement.
