Yeah, by the looks of it you've got to escape submission the same way you escape pins. Which I guess could keep the pace of the matches up which could be nice...dunno. (The crowd chanting one two three for them is ridiculous though.)

 the Nash role in this game

#BROKEN Hasney 08-14-2008 11:22 AM

That story mode trailer reminded me of DoR2 so much.

Then again, I reckon DoR2 has one of the best story modes in wrestling games, so I'm not complaining.

Xero 08-14-2008 12:57 PM

The storyline looks stupid as hell. So I guess they're striving for realism.

Also, loading screens between each entrance? What kind of bullshit is that?

It might just be my copied disc, but SvR 2008 does that as well.

Xero 08-14-2008 04:30 PM

It probably does but it's unacceptable at this point to have to load something that simple. At least load BOTH.

God why does suicide look so god damn retarded? These guys making it say they're wrestling fan, but a fucking mark could tell you that would never be a main event character. He looks like one of the pictures on those old generic rubber wrestling figures you see in dollar stores.

If the guy in the story is having extensive surgery to change his appearance, then why the fuck is he wearing a mask and bodysuit before hand? Doesn't make any sense at all.

#BROKEN Hasney 08-21-2008 02:55 AM

He's supposed to be very popular. Maybe people already know what he looks like under the mask or some shit. Kinda like Sting and the facepaint. You already know what he looks like but he wears it anyway.

Shaggy 08-21-2008 03:38 PM

So does this game have their actual entrance musics? Or are they going the route WCW Vs NwO was and just give everyone some weird thing.

Disturbed316 08-22-2008 01:19 PM

Hmmm, so no secondary finishers, thats abit of a bummer.

U-Warrior 08-22-2008 07:29 PM

This just became a rental for me.

Xero 08-22-2008 08:23 PM

LOL, WHAT!? FIVE CAW spots?

What kind of bullshit is that? What, aside from preventing someone to make an entire promotions' roster (which makes no sense anyway), is the point of that few, especially in an age with virtually limitless storage capability?

LOL at those big moves being excluded. Any word on "etc"?

7 Grapples. lol.

I knew they'd fuck this up, and they did.

LoDownM 08-22-2008 08:38 PM

This game just went from a rental to never gonna bother for me.

And what's the point of having Team 3D if you can't even do the fucking 3D?

Not going to be paying?

Disturbed316 08-30-2008 01:46 PM

Nope, one advantage of having credit at game and knowing people who work there.

Extreme Angle 08-30-2008 04:14 PM

What do the people who work there do, just give you discy? and with the discy use credit?

......What the shit was that? You beat Kurt Angle up for a few seconds with a 2x4 and then he gets mad and hugs you?

ozzman6669 09-10-2008 08:06 PM

The more i'm playing this shit the more I hate it, there supose to have 8 grapple but every way I try I only found the way to do 4-5 moves, your move change depends if your to the left or right of your opponent, everybody do the same move, in Quebec they change West and Tenay for french commentary that are even worse, I got to read the manual in english cause I don't even understand the translation they made of it.

This shit is only good to wait for smackdown!!!!!

Kenny 09-10-2008 08:31 PM

I got the PS2 version, and there's a lot missing.

There is NO online.

There is NO CAW. When you play story mode you can pick your new name and that's about it. Suicide is just given a new full body costume, which is a pretty cool costume but it doesn't make up for anything. Your finishing move consists of you spinning around your opponent twice, before ending up in a power bomb position, then doing what I guess would be called a sunset flip bomb to finish the move.

The graphics aren't nearly as good as the PS3 and XBox 360 installations. Of course, I was expecting that. But let me put it this way, it's nowhere near as good as Smackdown: Know Your Role (Smackdown 3) either.

There are plenty of glitches. The game froze once, and in one match my opponent ended up stuck inside of the ring. Only his chest and head were visible. Luckily he did find his way out and I got to finish the match.

Almost half the characters are locked, and almost everyone I unlocked so far absolutely sucks. Examples... Demonic DJ, Lenny, Benny, and Mr. Suplex or something like that.

As a "video game" it's not HORRIBLE, but as a wrestling game it's a very big disappointment.

I did get a free TNA DVD though, cause I pre-ordered.

Overall, this game is enough to make God say His own name in vain; and I'm not sure I'll ever be the same.

Yeah that stuff was known for a long time, especially the no CAW and online in the PS2 version.

Maybe next time you will acutally...I don't know...read information on the game before you waste money on it.

Disturbed316 09-12-2008 02:50 PM

Got it earlier and its....ok. Controls take a while getting used to, but get there eventually.

Story mode is pretty funny, but only because of how kayfabe and mark-ish it is. Currently on the tag team part and keep losing to LAX, which is both frustrating and gay.

Ultimate X is a pretty decent mode, but the way you have to get X down is very annoying.

Overall I'd agree with Gamespot review. A fair amount of things they need to improve on, but no way as bad as it could have turned out to be.

Gimme some details mang...

Are the intros really just 10 seconds long?
Are they missing 4356723476 finishers and signature moves like I heard?
How big is the roster?
Are there lots of moves to choose from?

Funky Fly 09-12-2008 04:14 PM

lame

War Zone had more move than that. This game is like WCW/nWo Thunder with better graphics.

I have one question...

What does ozzman have against pluralisation?

Kane Knight 09-12-2008 06:49 PM

I saw this at Gamestop today, and was excited for about fifteen seconds. Then I looked around for shit online, and checked this thread, and I'm kinda glad I didn't even consider purchasing it.

No the controls are much better.

For me this is the first Smackdown with better controls.

For the record, I hated every Smackdown game up until Shut your Mouth

Played a little of it last night.

The graphics are good, but the controls suck.

This could be the most dissapointing game of the year.

UmbrellaCorporation 09-13-2008 08:19 PM

This game goes WAY overboard with the reversal system.

I like it, but it's frustrating. It's fun, and might warrant possibly 30 - 40 dollars, but not 60.

KingofOldSchool 09-13-2008 08:34 PM

Yeah they should have named the game TNA Reversals!: The Video Game

ozzman6669 09-13-2008 08:50 PM

And they did a little mistake, easy is hard and hard is easy!!!

Xero 09-13-2008 10:04 PM

Normally I wouldn't have to ask this, but Ozzman, are you serious?
