WiiFlow

Savio 07-15-2010 09:58 AM

Also Wii Sports Resort has to be the hardest game to get to work because of that stupid intro.

OssMan 07-17-2010 11:57 PM

I updated my Wii, I want homebrew channel back

G 09-03-2010 06:15 PM

I'm trying to play MK online, but it won't connect to the WFC. Do I need the latest (4.3) update to play online?

OssMan 09-03-2010 06:26 PM

Yeah you do. But there is a new hack called Indiana Pwns that you can do to get the homebrew channel back if the update deletes it. Dunno how it affects your bootlegged games at all though. All you need is a copy of Lego Indiana Jones.

G 09-03-2010 06:30 PM

Lots of ppl @ gbatemp are saying they can get on just fine, and some are still on 3.3.

Xero 09-03-2010 06:34 PM

Question: How well do the emulators for the 8 and 16 bit games run? How is the compatibility? Don't really give a shit about Wii Online play and can get around not fucking with Wii Ware as long as I can play regular (official) games.

Basically would do this specifically for emulation, if I do it. As it is my Wii sits and collects dust except for Gamecube games, which I could use my Gamecube for...

Savio 09-03-2010 07:46 PM

This guy has a whole bunch of wads:

They run perfectly. Even the N64 emulator I have runs a few games at like 99%.

Savio 09-05-2010 08:04 PM

Anyone know where I can find a backup NyxQuest wad?.......

G 09-05-2010 09:54 PM

I don't know what NyxQuest is, but this is what Google turned up.

MVP 09-11-2010 12:51 AM

I just installed the Homebrew Channel today and put all of my SNES and N64 roms on it. I guess I know what I'll be doing for the rest of the night.

G 09-11-2010 12:53 AM

Playing all of your SNES and N64 roms through the Homebrew Channel?

OssMan 09-11-2010 01:35 AM

Let me know if all your N64 roms work

OssMan 10-21-2010 02:46 PM

Trying to avoid the system update that comes with new games, anyone know how

Vietnamese Crippler 10-21-2010 03:13 PM

Don't you have Preloader, or something similar, installed? It should have an option to block disk updates.

OssMan 10-24-2010 02:02 AM

Do not have Preloader.

V 10-24-2010 08:52 AM

get preloader then, it's good for brick recovery, and has all kinds of good hacks you can place into your wii. like skipping pressing "a" when you turn it on, blocking region locks, etc.

G 10-24-2010 10:37 AM

love the auto press a thing

Vietnamese Crippler 10-24-2010 10:42 AM

Also, it's called Priiloader now, just FYI.

Savio 11-04-2010 12:07 PM

G you get goldeneye to work?

G 11-04-2010 04:57 PM

yah

G 11-04-2010 09:32 PM

I'm on 4.2

Are you running games off a USB drive or burnt disc

G 11-04-2010 09:33 PM

Savio 11-04-2010 10:33 PM

I use USB.....holy shit that looks mad helpfull bout to use it.

G 11-04-2010 10:37 PM

Hmm

Well, to start with set the 002 fix to anti. Not sure what the difference between that and "yes" is, but it couldn't hurt to try. Which loader do you use? USB Loader GX

One thing from that list that sticks out to me, is the IOS249 rev 10. I am on rev 19. Not sure if that will help, but try it. I'd get you a link, but everything I installed came in a package.

If that doesn't work, we can try something else.

Savio 11-05-2010 06:01 PM

I use WiiFlow...I'm gonna try upgrading to 19 right now. Can you post yours?

G 11-05-2010 09:29 PM

I was gonna say that, but they mostly deal with music games. Remember, you're loading 007 with IOS249, not 222 or 223.

Download USB Loader GX and try using that

Savio 11-06-2010 09:14 AM

already have that channel...its not working at all now. Also I have this weird issue where I always have to unplug my back up harddrive then plug it back in to get it to work.

I wonder if the same thing causing punch-out not to work is 007s problem

G 11-06-2010 02:00 PM

maybe

All I can really suggest now is to start over like I recently did. Every game works for me and I haven't had a problem since. I did though have to downgrade back to 222 and 223 rev 4. The guide calls for rev 5, but I had a problem with Monster Hunter Tri working.

http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=171901

Savio 11-06-2010 04:08 PM

:-/ read the link...how would I start over just reinstall my IOSes?

G 11-06-2010 07:29 PM

I'm not too sure since you're already on 4.2. I did everything when I was at 4.1, so I installed everything in the guide. You could try starting at Modify 4.2. Make sure you back up your NAND first.

Savio 11-06-2010 08:13 PM

you might not have seen my rep, i got it to work I had to update all my ios's under 28

G 11-06-2010 08:29 PM

oh ok cool. glad you got it working

Cooler Tom Schuler 11-07-2010 11:35 PM

Good evening gentlemen. My name is Tom- long time reader, first time poster.

So, I've used the Smash Stack exploit to add the Homebrew Channel and added the Homebrew browser. Not entirely which route to use next as there seem to be many viable options. What do you fellows recommend?

Savio 11-08-2010 12:02 AM

  1. Download Homebrew Browser, lot of useful tools you can get off there.
  2. Register at Demoniod.
  3. Buy Backup Hard-drive.
  4. Take 2 pills and call me in the morning.

Cooler Tom Schuler 11-08-2010 12:30 AM

1. Already did.
2. Have been for years.
3. Not in the budget.
4. Any two?

OssMan 11-08-2010 02:17 AM

Are you trying to just play emulators and stuff, or do you want to do serious hacking, like making bootleg games and whatnot. If you just want emulators then download them from Homebrew Browser and then put your SD card in your computer and put all the roms in the folders that they will give you. If you want to do more serious stuff, ask G

Savio 11-08-2010 06:02 PM

Yeah I agree with Assman what are you looking to do?

Cooler Tom Schuler 11-08-2010 07:00 PM

I'll probably do a little emulation, but mostly I'm looking to do burned games.

G 11-08-2010 07:19 PM

Before we get you started with burning games, let's make sure you can play them first. When did you buy your Wii?

Cooler Tom Schuler 11-08-2010 07:32 PM

2007

G 11-08-2010 07:36 PM

Ok. You are good. Recently, Nintendo has used a special disc drive in some Wiis that will not play burnt discs.

What firmware are you on?

Cooler Tom Schuler 11-08-2010 07:53 PM

4.2

G 11-08-2010 08:07 PM

Alright

Familiarize yourself with this. Go ahead and get the files by emailing that address and set up your sd card.

Cooler Tom Schuler 11-08-2010 09:08 PM

Or 4.3. Seems I can't remember things I looked at yesterday.

Cooler Tom Schuler 11-08-2010 10:06 PM

Alright, so, I've completed everything down to the "congrats". Of the many options presented after this point, what would you recommend?

G 11-09-2010 05:28 PM

It's been awhile since I've used a disc loader, but I believe I had the most success with NeoGamma. I think it's the one that starts with black (rap) music.

What do you mean "have to connect to save"

Cooler Tom Schuler 11-10-2010 08:56 PM

Nevermind, I misread it. Silly me. It was saying save data is required to connect to Nintendo Wifi. Oops, opposite.

G 11-10-2010 09:01 PM

Oh, yeah. And don't be afraid to take any game online, you're not gonna get banned or anything.

G 11-14-2010 01:30 PM

if anyone is interested, i got black ops working by installing cios 249 rev 20 with base 57.

Savio 11-15-2010 11:02 PM

how does it play?

G 11-16-2010 07:08 PM

runs fine for the most part. it'll lag and skip every now and then. it also freezes when you try to change weapons while setting a custom class, so i have to use default classes so far. gonna look into it.

Emperor Smeat 11-16-2010 08:08 PM

Is it the game itself that is causing the lag and freezing or do you think its more because of the Homebrew program itself since I've heard a few games have some problems when it runs on the program?

G 11-16-2010 08:58 PM

the lag i'm sure was because i was downloading something. not sure about the freezing though, because every other game i play runs fine.

G 11-18-2010 09:25 PM

fixed it by using wiiflow. for some reason it doesn't like usb loader gx

Cooler Tom Schuler 12-20-2010 11:25 PM

I got a new USB drive and switched over to WiiFlow. Marvelous indeed.

Extreme Angle 12-21-2010 07:01 AM

Has this changed at all? I updated my D2Pro chip, then put in my epic mickey copy, updated wii, now the back up launcher doesn't work and homebrew is gone.. Mickey works though...
What should I do?

G 12-21-2010 08:02 AM

What kind of update did you do? If you did it through Nintendo, it erases Homebrew.

OssMan 12-21-2010 10:19 AM

Last time my homebrew got erased I used Indiana Pwns to get it back.

Extreme Angle 12-21-2010 12:21 PM

Yeah through nintendo... Is there anyway to bypass the update?

G 12-21-2010 03:58 PM

I don't know about hard modding like you did, but us soft modders use loaders which bypass it. I *think* there are programs that take off the update before you burn the disc.

IC Champion 01-02-2011 09:25 PM

Can this shit ruin your Wii if you get caught or anything?

G 01-02-2011 09:59 PM

no. it's nothing like the xbox

Dave Youell 06-05-2011 06:15 PM

Ok, shit.

My kid got a proper game for his bday and it's been run with an update. So I'm now on 4.3e (or 3.4e, well it's updated anyway) and thus, my gamma channel is up the fritz, won't work just closes down.

Only workarounds I've found require me to get a proper copy of Lego Indiana Jones ala Twlight hack, are there any other ways I can make my channels work without getting Indy?

G 06-07-2011 11:23 PM

One of the following games is required if on 4.3 firmware.
- Super Smash Brothers Brawl, All Wii's.
- Yu-Gi-OH 5D's Wheelie Breakers, All Wii's.
- Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, All Wii's.
- LEGO Batman, All Wii's.
- LEGO Star Wars, US/Europe Wii's ONLY.
- Lego Indiana Jones, US/Europe Wii's ONLY.

OssMan 06-07-2011 11:32 PM

Indiana jones is like $15

G 06-07-2011 11:40 PM

Dave Youell 06-08-2011 04:36 PM

Ok, no probs, guess it's only fair that Nintendo get some cash back from me.

I did try the Smash Bros in a cheeky test, didn't work. Nevermind, thanks guys

Savio 12-02-2011 07:36 PM

Skyward Sword and Blazing Angels dont work on "Wii Flow" for me (havent tested any other loaders but WiiFlow is the most promising). I am not surprised about SS but Blazing angels is pretty old. what IOS do I need for that?
