I just secured NBA TV and I didn't know I lived without it.

Schlomey 11-18-2009 03:07 PM

I had it all of last season. Sundays were my favorite. They showed about 30 of the best minutes of the top 10 games of the week that are mostly out of market for me. Wow that was topps. :( im gutted this year.

SammyG 11-18-2009 04:43 PM

Why don't you have it now? Do you have DirecTV? cuz i know it switched channels on there.

SammyG 11-18-2009 04:47 PM

lol Phil

By J.A. Adande

Hmm, could there be some latent frustration in Phil Jackson about Pau Gasol’s slow-to-heal right hamstring?

Before the Lakers played the Pistons Tuesday night, Jackson said Gasol went through practice Monday and shootaround Tuesday morning and Jackson hoped Gasol would be able to play in the game. Alas, he remained on the inactive list. When Jackson was asked if he was concerned Gasol was being gun-shy, he jumped in and said, “That he’s a hypochondriac and might be a baby and won’t come out and play? Is that what you’re trying to say with that question?”

That drew laughs. Then Jackson turned TV critic, referring to Gasol’s guest appearance on “CSI: Miami.”

“I think he got injured on CSI and he’s not telling us the truth,” Jackson said. “I watched that program last night just to see if that was what [happened]. And then he dragged that kid out of the car; I’m sure that’s where he got that injury.

“I never watched [the show] before. I was totally amazed that people watch it. I can’t believe people actually watch that stuff.”

When someone compared Gasol’s acting duties to Andrew Bynum hoisting a Playmate at a Playboy Mansion party while out with an injury last season, Jackson stayed on his roll.

“That’s good for his shoulders,” Jackson said. “It’s another thing to be dragging someone and stretch your hamstring like Pau was doing.”

And finally, on Pau’s future in the acting biz: “I told him to keep his night job.”

We switched from DirectTV back to Suddenlink Cable. Cheaper & everything else is the same..I couldn't justify paying like 60 extra bucks a month simply for 1 channel.

Juan 11-18-2009 07:41 PM

I got NBALP for the first time this year and now get NBA TV also. I love it

OssMan 11-18-2009 09:02 PM

Antawn Jamison back tonight. Him and Butler and Arenas look amazing together. Fucking hate LeBron and his stupid crab dribble.

DaveWadding 11-18-2009 09:10 PM

Schlomey, I will share my NBATV with you...but you can only have the shows with Rick Kamla on them.

OssMan 11-18-2009 09:28 PM

Holler at your Boykins

SammyG 11-19-2009 03:48 AM

Hahahaha. I do like the Wizards. Mike Miller needs to stop wearing that stupid undershirt though, same with Jamison.

So psyched for Pacers fifth win in a row last night. I'm going to the Knicks game tonight to watch them go for six in a row. Gonna be immense. Roy Hibbert is going to dunk on somebody's face and make their kids cry.

I cant believe they let up on the Knicks and lost that game. Un fucking real. They wont make the playoffs doing that shit.

Splaya 11-19-2009 01:44 PM

Today is the 5 year anny of Artest going to play with people in the crowd in Detroit

I think Jamison wore it cause of something to do with his shoulder. Mike Miller is the most hilarious guy of all time though

Love this Wizards team so much.

Arenas, Butler, Jamison all healthy
Mike Miller
Earl Boykins
Andray Blatch going crazy
I miss Darius Songaila though

Oh my god, I was so pissed. They stopped running the offense through Granger while he was on fire and that fucking killed them. It didn't feel like they made a shot that wasn't a free throw in the second half. When Granger fouled out, it was over.

At least Hansbrough looked good and Hibbert continued being awesome. It just wasn't enough. I really hope they get their shit back together. During the five game win streak they really looked like a playoff team. Especially against the Celts.

Juan 11-20-2009 02:45 AM

Hate to pull a SammyG here, but with Pau back, this Lakers team is poised for another championship.

SammyG 11-20-2009 05:06 AM

Fuck you Juan, and my God , seeing Pau back out there was amazing.

Skippord 11-20-2009 06:58 AM

yep seeing players who have played for my favorite team for a while playing is pretty amazing usually

RP 11-20-2009 09:05 AM

Granger vs Lebron tonight. Granger is gunna be on fire tonight. He's been red hot lately.

Schlomey 11-20-2009 09:17 AM

Let me just say that the Bulls are disappointing me this year. They have had a few wins but they have NOT performed well at all in the good games. Win or lose I was hoping they would at least give The Celtics & The Lakers a game...fuck all that was a boring show last night :(

The Gold Standard 11-20-2009 02:51 PM

I am so mad. Why would the Knicks not want to sign AI. They are doing nothing this year, at least throw someone out there who can put on a show night in and night out.

Donnie Walsh said there is no place to play him because it would hurt the development of everyone, THE ENTIRE TEAM WILL BE GONE NEXT YEAR!! AND WE DON'T EVEN HAVE A 2 GUARD WHICH IS WHAT AI PLAYS!!

I hope Donnie Walsh likes how Jennings and Gordon are playing because at we should have drafted one of them to get our 2 guard.

Splaya 11-20-2009 03:02 PM

Gold Standard, take it from someone who had Iverson last year (Pistons). He is nothing more than a cancer. When he doesn't get his way, he cries. If he were to struggle in NY, D'Antoni would regulate him to the bench. AI would have been released by the end of the season again, would have played for 2 teams this year, made about a million dollars to whine and cry about not getting enough playing time. Just trust me, AI is past his prime and needs to accept that he is either coming off the bench, or he is retiring.

The Gold Standard 11-20-2009 03:33 PM

As a Knicks fan, what else is there for me to look forward to this season. We are terrible. It would only be a one year deal and if he sucks, it can't be as bad as it is now. The Pistons were in a different position when they had AI then the Knicks are now. I understand your feelings about him, because I would be the same way if I were a Pistons fan. But, AI playing everyday is the type of player the Knicks need for this year to put butts in the seats and get some more TV ratings. If he pulls the same thing he did in Memphis and Detroit. they release him and lose nothing because they are back to where they are now.

Schlomey 11-20-2009 03:40 PM

Harrington is a bright spot. I love it when he gets on fire and can hit a dozen threes.

See that is where you are wrong. What the team is doing now, is trying to build chemistry with the players that are there for the long term. Iverson would come in and destroy that. Just saying is all. He will stunt the growth of the players. You need growing pains, and losing will do that for the Knicks. The possibility of having Lebron there next year will greatly enhance those players skills.

McLegend 11-20-2009 08:41 PM

Iverson :(

Bring him back.

The thing is though, the majority of these guys won't even be back because of their attempt to get LeBron and 2 other key free agents, so there is no chemistry to build because everyone will be a FA except, Hill, Douglass, Gallinari, Chandler and Curry. The other 10 have a strong possibility of going somewhere else and they will probably get rid of Curry somehow, so there are only 5 guys there who are adequate at best.

Emperor Smeat 11-21-2009 02:30 AM

Knicks haven't had good chemistry since maybe the last year of Ewing. Since he left, they only made the playoffs 2 times and only went one time with a 40+ win season (2000-2001).

Problem is either they try to rebuilt and then tear it down after 1-2 years when a normal rebuild is a good 3-5 years or they kill their cap with a few bad signing each year which leaves them with no room for trades or improvements. Both end up hurting the team mentality and chemistry.

Emperor Smeat 11-22-2009 04:03 PM

What a buzzer beater by KG to end the game against the Knicks. Crowd went dead quiet when it occurred.

Juan 11-23-2009 05:09 AM

Those kind of shots aren't illegal anymore, for the record.

Champion of Europa 11-23-2009 02:34 PM

Jesus Christ, Pacers. Get your shit together. We were doing so well and then we lose to goddamn Charlotte. Badly.

Let's hope we can get back on track in Toronto, but its gonna be hard. Bosh has been a beast. If anything, we'll beat the Clippers back home.

DaveWadding 11-24-2009 01:26 PM

Think its hilarious how he draws a double and still shoots over the backboard instead of passing to Farmar for the wide open 3.

Buzzkill 11-24-2009 05:05 PM

Oden 24/12 in 27 mins sonnn

Stop nitpicking. Farmar has one of the most inconsistent 3 pointers on the team, sans Sasha Vujacic.

DaveWadding 11-24-2009 05:38 PM

I dont give a fuck, he's wide open.

C'mon, the pass to Farmar had a lesser degree of difficulty that the shot.

DaveWadding 11-24-2009 08:18 PM

and besides what the fuck does my skill on a basketball court have to do with Kobe being a ballhog?

Juan 11-24-2009 08:31 PM

lol not the ballhog argument. come on man

DaveWadding 11-24-2009 10:14 PM

I'm just saying. It was a cute shot, but if I were the Zen Master, I'd kill him for not seeing the help coming and hitting the open guy.

Juan 11-24-2009 10:20 PM

I'm sure you'd be saying the exact same thing if Steve Nash had made a shot like that.

DaveWadding 11-24-2009 10:29 PM

Steve Nash wouldn't TAKE a shot like that.

ok you win. Kobe is a rapist and a ballhog.

Emperor Smeat 11-25-2009 01:18 AM

Mavs have to be embarrassed after today's game. Lost to Warriors who only had 6 players available.

LOL ESPN, Warriors end game on 24-7 run and had 3 guys play whole game.

SammyG 11-25-2009 04:12 AM

... and one of them was the Space Cadet.

owenbrown 11-25-2009 09:25 AM

I'll admit that was a good shot by Kobe but it looked like he stepped out of bounds

Loose Cannon 11-25-2009 01:32 PM

why did the Warriors only have 6 guys? They're not some rec team. lol

SammyG 11-25-2009 03:08 PM

There is absolutely no way he stepped out of bounds before the shot. Open your eyes. It's not even close.

Injuries and/or foul outs are the only answers. Plus they are the Warriors.

another step to his right from looking at the backboard cam he could have been called out of bounds but still a good shot

SammyG 11-25-2009 04:01 PM

Well, lol, another step to the right and yeah he's out of bounds. But he... didn't... take... one....

Emperor Smeat 11-25-2009 06:03 PM

Rumors of Iverson going to the Celtics end since he is officially retiring at least for rest of the season and most likely his career is over.

Juan 11-25-2009 06:58 PM

What a sad end to his career. Can't help but feel a little bad for the man.

SammyG 11-25-2009 07:07 PM

Champion of Europa 11-26-2009 09:53 PM

I'm not as upset Pacers got put down in Toronto. Chris Bosh is a beast, especially this season.

I'm happier we beat the Clippers, who had Gordon back, without Granger. It was a nasty game, but we did it.

SammyG 11-27-2009 03:14 AM

lol, Artest and his sister being investigated for welfare fraud... And Artest got pulled over on the highway and was searched for guns/drugs the other day. Got a speeding ticket too. HAPPY THANKSGIVING RON

Per Ben Maller via Stephen A Smith, Allen Iverson will probably sign a deal with the 76ers sometime over the weekend.

That is ridiculous. ANY superstar that plays to that age has to accept a potential bench role.

It's not like people are passing on him because of some unfortunate injury or he just wanted to work really hard and be part of any team and nobody would bite...

This is his own fault for being a massive egotist with zero ability to make the best out of whatever position he's put in.

Huge baby.

How many Superstars actually change their game? Not that many.

You aren't wrong, but there is no way Allen Iverson is going to change who he is at this point.

Loose Cannon 11-28-2009 09:51 PM

Iverson has been one of the best on his team or in the league since he probably started playing sports. Trust me, it's not easy to just accept coming off the bench when you've been so good for so long. I don't think it's sad or pathetic at all. Coming off the bench when you never have before is not an easy thing to swallow.

Juan 11-28-2009 10:05 PM

I don't think he was the best player in Detroit or Denver.

Loose Cannon 11-28-2009 10:05 PM

"one of the best" I made sure I put that because I knew someone would type what you just did ;)
