Okada-Ospreay sounds great. Glad they're continuing to blur the lines on the junior heavyweight/heavyweight divisions. Hope they move KUSHIDA up sometime soon.

Fignuts 02-14-2018 06:55 AM

Really been enjoying Being the Elite. Tempted to go back and watch all of them.

Evil Vito 02-14-2018 08:29 AM

There is way more storyline advancement and character development on Being the Elite than the average episode of Raw.

Simple Fan 02-14-2018 12:00 PM

Being The Elite has been pretty good. I started watching back in the summer and look forward to every episode now.

Mr. Nerfect 02-20-2018 09:03 PM

I'm yet to see one gif or video of The Bullet Club that makes them look like anything other than geeks. Can anyone share something good?

Fignuts 02-21-2018 01:26 AM

No.

mike adamle 02-21-2018 05:16 AM

So you're judging everything by 3 second gifs instead of watching the actual show? Is that why you hate everything?

Noid is too deeply entrenched in his opinion on Bullet Club to ever be objective about them.

Evil Vito 02-21-2018 07:16 AM

Cornette did a 14 minute review on Jericho vs. Omega. Spoiler alert: he thinks the match was only watchable because of Jericho. He then spent a good deal of the review by AGAIN complaining about Omega no-showing an ROH show and wrestling a child.

Ol Dirty Dastard 02-21-2018 08:18 AM

Noid is just going through a phase. It's common throughout puberty.

#BROKEN Hasney 02-21-2018 01:52 PM

I think the bigger challenge is finding a Noid post without him looking like a geek

I'm judging them by the content I have seen. It has not encouraged me to seek out more content. That is the job of content. I know it's hard for simple minds to understand.

Jericho did lead that match really hard.

Lol, challenge accepted. Show me something good and I'll give as objective an analysis of it as I can. It's possible you're just throwing shade because they're an overrated act. Subjectively, I don't like them because I find them self-indulgent and not very funny when they're obviously trying to be funny. Those are my tastes. But show me something that's got some meat. I tried to be open-minded about it, but you cunts get butt-hurt when people don't fall into line and mark out over their attempts to be memes.

Mr. Nerfect 02-22-2018 05:57 AM

If adamle gets any funnier, he'll be offered a job with DDT.

mike adamle 02-22-2018 06:33 AM

Would love a job with DDT. Would also cement the fact that I've done more in my life than Noid.

mike adamle 02-22-2018 06:35 AM

Not completely New Japan related but I just got tickets for Rev Pro in New Orleans on WrestleMania weekend. The main event:

You lean on that attempt at a slam a lot. I mean, it's obviously projection and it's quite sad you hate yourself that much, but I do wish you the best.

Do it yourself, nobody gives a fuck about your opinion. Watch it or don't. Stop being a whiny bitch about things you haven't even seen.

mike adamle 02-22-2018 10:36 AM

Or just stop being a whiny bitch in general.

Ol Dirty Dastard 02-22-2018 10:56 AM

Noid suffers tragically from 'smartest guy in the room' syndrome. If you question his views, he merely doubles down.

mike adamle 02-22-2018 11:25 AM

Well when he isolates himself 24/7 with Jim Cornette podcasts as his only lifeline to the outside world those two opinions are the only ones that matter.

Evil Vito 02-22-2018 12:14 PM

Although he's easily influenced by Cornette, I certainly hope Noid doesn't attempt to eat a Wendy's triple cheeseburger while driving 70 MPH down the freeway.

I for one hope he does... and will gain immeasurable respect for him if he accomplishes said feat.

#BROKEN Hasney 02-22-2018 01:32 PM

Fucks sake, shade thrown at DDT now. How low can Noid sink?

I enjoy DDT in very small doses.

And Omega should be kissing Cornette's feet. More people hear about him through Jim than through his actual work.

I stand by the fact that Omega isn't the best wrestler in the world (AJ). OR IN New Japan (Naito). Or even in the Bullet Club (Cody or Scruill).

You asked and we told you to go watch Tama in the G1 which you said you would and haven't, instead you whine about a 3 second gif.

I've tried, and everything I've seen has been high school theater. I'm asking if there's something I'm obviously missing, because it's easy to judge someone's body of work by the stuff that gets the most air time, as opposed to some earlier stuff or better stuff, and most people have the common sense to be able to differentiate between what is actually really good and what they're just on the bandwagon of. "Listen to this artist's song if you're just getting into them," "Dude, everybody's seen that film, but you should really see them in this."

You don't give a fuck about my opinion, and that's cool, you speaking-for-everybody fuck. A lot of people around here still engage with me and have gone on record saying "Noid's a great poster." Joking aside, some people do care about my opinion, and even if they don't, I'm still allowed to share it and point out the irony of you calling someone a whiny bitch.

Also: I am talking about the things I have seen. I'm asking if I'm missing something really obvious. Turns out I'm probably not.

This is actually quite off the mark. I love learning new things -- it's the only way to get smarter. I'm constantly asking Gertner about things, and I'm in here asking people to show me stuff. I constantly defer to the wisdom of great posters that occasionally come through this space.

Are you still butt-hurt because I called you on your shitty fence-sitting position in the other thread?

Dale: Anyone who doesn't like racist slogans is self-righteous.

Also Dale: I'm nuanced.

Yeah, mate -- I've got the syndrome.

Not easily influenced by Cornette at all. I had my guard up when I first listened to him, and his reasoning on most subjects has won me over. There are many things I don't agree with him on. I don't think Dolph Ziggler is the "perfect professional wrestler," for example. This is a straw-man, and when you defer the authority of mike adamle, you're already selling yourself short.

I'm talking about The Bullet Club as a whole, genius. I haven't gotten around to watching those Tama matches yet, but I will. Believe it or not, I've been busy, adamle. I'm not talking about Tama's singles work, I'm talking about The Bullet Club as a whole looking like geeks playing "let's start an improv group."

The irony of any of you labeling anyone a "whiny bitch" is hilarious. Dale gets sore when he's out of his depth, but at least has the sense to have fun. I can literally feel the hurt feelings of the rest of you though. Sorry for not thinking Cody is amazing for pretending to be a bad-ass and throw a chair across a room. Such skill. Such ferocity. And since you've asked me to form an opinion on what I've seen, I can conclusively say that The Bullet Club sucks.

I enjoy DDT in gif format, but I'm happy it exists.

I very much doubt the Jim Cornette part. He's not in the top 40 sports podcasts so I'd probably guess not a huge amount of people want to listen to old men yelling at clouds..

As for the last part, I'd aree with AJ if we're talking body of work, but not last year. Not about Naito, his match with Okada cooled me a little bit and Cody has only had 2 good matches since he left and one of them was with Ibushi who is incredible. Love Scurll and I think he could be one of the top guys, but I think he needs that breakout 1 on 1 match to really show it in NJPW. Some of his PROGRESS stuff is great.

Mr. Nerfect 02-23-2018 07:48 AM

Actually, on Cornette: He gets more than 300,000 listeners a month, last I heard, so there's actually probably something to what 'Kai is saying there. I mean, if you can do basic math. 100,000 New Japan World subscribers worldwide. Omega's YouTube videos also only average about 100,000 people. They generally do better than Cornette's videos, but not when you factor in the podcast listens. Videos that have been up for years often have more views than Omega's content too.

But yes, Cornette isn't in the Top 40 sports podcasts, of which the only other wrestling shows are She Hates Wrestling and Steve Austin's. Your point being?

#BROKEN Hasney 02-23-2018 08:00 AM

When you get podcast stats, it's all raw, there's no user or session cookies in play so the listeners numbers are essentially raw downloads, so divide that bad boy by 3.5 for the weekly podcasts for the repeat listeners (there will be some uniqueness obviously) and we get to the number of individuals that listen.
