Hahaha, fucking love Danny Burch.
He's just this fucking madman. Love it. He's an excellent enhancement guy that could get so over in his own right. To mass audiences, I mean. He's already over at home.
Danny Burch is fucking sick.
Welcome to the party.
Oh damn, Dunne vs Damien, sign me up to watch that match any day of the week!
I don't like the finger break spot, but I do like that it leads to the finish with Dunne.
Punishment Martinez using the Generic Finish.
Good look for Damien Priest, but it's a big stagy.
Undisputed Era talking about Finn Balor in front of Cathy Kelley... AWKWARD!!
Don't care for Damien Priest.
Lol, "you guys are the freakin' best"
Cathy Kelley looks unbelievably like one of my friends.
I think Street Profits might win the belts back here.
Lol, Kyle O'Reilly is such a dick.
I used to not like the guy, but I've got time for this wanker.
Dawkins is a big boy.
Kyle O'Reilly has gotten so much better in NXT.
Prediction for the big angle: The Undisputed Era end up fighting with a bunch of babyfaces. Velveteen Dream gets involved. Tommaso Ciampa makes his return.
Dawkins' has an impressive looking spinebuster. His offense against smaller competitors looks pretty tight.
I like the Street Profits, but I think their gear could use an upgrade.
Montez Ford moves like no one I've seen. I don't think it's a good or bad thing, per se. He's just very...springy.
Montez's hang time is something else.
Lol, O'Reilly's running man.
Fish is solid. He makes it look like a struggle, even when he's "talking." Feels like it could be trash talk.
That was fucking sick.
A proper hot tag! These guys have been listening to Cornette.
Was that rebound lariat shade thrown at Moxley?
Even without the overrun, this show killed AEW. Anyone who says different is lying to themselves.
Way too early to go for the tag again.
Damn, Adam Cole is having a bad night!!!!!!
GOLDIE, COME HOME!
A solid ending to the tag team bout.
CIAMPA!!!
I liked the tag match. Had the feel of the old Gargano & Ciampa/Revival matches. Ford's tope con hilo was awesome. I got legitimately frustrated for them at the end when Roderick Strong got involved.
Far from the best TV I've ever seen, but I'm glad I watched. Might come back next week. :y:
For quite awhile when both guys were on the indy scene, I could not tell the difference between Joey Janella and Matt Riddle. It was like the running gag of Adam Cole and Adam Page in RoH.
Now, whenever I see Matt Riddle, I can only think of King Slender from the old NES Pro Wrestling game. |
After catching up on both, I can't help but feel like WWE is counterbooking AEW. I mean, I know it is "obvious", but I mean there is no fucking way we would have the matches, "returns", and other appearances we got otherwise all on one show. And I don't just mean the quality, but the matchups. Like, Dunne vs Burch would have been a main event NXT match a couple of months ago, not a throwaway midcard matchup.
And as enjoyable as it is, I hope they don't ruin it by flaming everyone popular out in just a few months. Like, I don't want NXT to become like RAW did, in that every week had to be a PPV caliber card and all the "big stars" have to be on TV every week and accelerating storylines because they feel they need to keep eyeballs. I kinda fear they're stepping into something they can't come back from, and the special thing NXT has become over the course of the last few years will suffer long-term because of it. |

NXT has very quietly out-AEW'd AEW. They feature more women and people of diverse backgrounds. There were as many women on the first two-hour show as there are listed on AEW's official women's roster.
