Such a great show. Another easy, breezy two hours. Moxley is a fucking star.

I'm not the only one who noticed.

Jon Moxley is a Fucking STAR. Rocket ship him; especially in the underdog, fight authority role. I can 100% believe current WWE did not see it just because of their formulaic setup. 2 decades ago Vince would have been focused enough to recognize it and run with it.

SCU winning kind of surprised me; I was cheering for The Lucha Brothers, especially considering they already knocked off The Young Bucks at All Out. SCU has consistently had some of the best matches all throughout AEW's run in pre-shows, Dark or opening matches so kind of glad they have gotten the nod here.

Plus, this outcome also gives fans some more options to build towards... Lucha Bros, Young Bucks reigns, etc.

Being fair, they have the same problem with Nyla Rose currently. You're supposedly pushing "The Native Beast" as an unstoppable monster - was almost the first ever AEW Women's Champ - and she's winless.

Tangential: I wonder about this win-loss thing. I mean, will it be cumulative, or seasonal? If they get their poop in a group and use All In as their Mania/Slammiversary type show, will the records reset like a sports season to move people up/down the card?

Part of the issue they're running into with the win loss thing is they're still really early in their run, and they don't overuse or over expose their talents. Nyla could easily get some wins with a couple of squashes.

Overall, I love what I've seen. Everything is easy to watch. It makes sense. I do think the right guys are winning. And they're building up their big guns. I think Moxely is the obvs choice to eventually dethrone Jericho, and the way they're building him up is perfect. He's been electric every time he's been used, and the whole unsanctionable thing is great.

I get the record isn't be-all end-all and that it's "early", but still, as it stands, to correct that, Nyla *needs* those squashes to happen for this bookkeeping business to make sense... otherwise it kinda hurts when you have JR putting over how dominant she is while goose eggs show up on the TV screen. Guevarra being the young gun in the big inagural heel stable is way less intimidating when the guy is still winless. Shawn Spears being paired with Tully seems like a huge waste of potential when, once again, there are no wins. Sure, there is plenty of time to course correct, but as of right now, it comes off as a bit hokey and wrong. We'll see how it shakes out in a few months.

I wish they didn't involve Tony Kahn in the Moxley program. He said he wouldn't be an on screen authority figure and he's already got one foot in the door on that one.

Shanna is 10x better than Britt Baker. I just want to learn all about Shanna now, she's from Portugal and has wrestled in all of the womens fed's and has a GREAT butt. She's not PERFECT like Alexa Bliss but she is a SUPER ATTAINABLE REAL WORLD HOT. And that makes me love her with all my heart.

Damian Rey 2.0 11-02-2019 10:28 PM

I'm big and hard on Shida, but man Shanna looked good and worked a great match.

Just finished watching this show instead of Monday Night RAW.

Started watching yesterday actually, but got bored during the Adam Page vs Sammy Guevara match and turned it off. I am not a huge fan of either of these people as singles rasslers. Especially don't buy Adam Page as a big top tier singles guy.

The women's match was probably AEW's best. Seems to me like they picked the wrong Japanese lady to be champ.

Not sure what the deal with Brandi Rhodes is... didn't even realize that was her last week, thought it was some other braud. Now she's.... I dunno... into satanic voodooism or something? I think she'd be better off being used as Cody's valet..... unless she has actually become great in the ring after her departure from WWE.

Bunch of fun matches... the Ricky and Morty stuff was weird, but was done with a team that "just loves to have fun", and the match was pretty short so I didn't mind it.

Was hoping that they would stay away from "contract signing" segments, but I loved the lead-up with Cody in the limo. As far as the signing, it was good too I guess. Jericho was great as always, and I like that they are turning Hager's knee to the groin into a thing.

Kenny Omega..... I have no idea what that whole entrance was about, but every single week Omega gets farther and farther away from the "potential top star power" I saw in him. Honestly, the best thing for him would have been to get away from Young Bucks and all his buddies. I think he actually would have been presented a lot better in NXT/WWE. Here he just seems like..... I dunno.... they tell you he is a big deal, but he just.... doesn't seem like one.

Moxley's promo was great though, maybe the best I've ever seen him, I can't remember. I can see him only getting bigger and bigger. He's got that "ring can't contain his energy" kind of feeling right now, which I haven't seen in a long time.

Tag Team Title match was good, a bit surprised SCU won, especially the way they did... but I ain't even mad, bro.

Overall another fun show, but probably the lowest quality so far.
