Poor yash... http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?id=65544 Yashin out 10-12 weeks with wrist injury 12/24/2003 UNIONDALE, N.Y. (CP) - Star centre Alexei Yashin of the New York Islanders is expected to miss 10 to 12 weeks after a gruesome wrist injury suffered in Tuesday night's 4-2 win over the Philadelphia Flyers. Yashin suffered partially severed tendons in his wrist after his right arm was cut by the skate of Flyers centre Michal Handzus during a goalmouth scramble. He underwent surgery and will be in a cast for four weeks before rehabilitation can begin. Team doctor Elliot Pellman says the injury is not career-threatening and Yashin is expected to make a complete recovery. ``The reality is the injury actually could have been even worse," Islanders GM Mike Milbury said in a statement. ``Still, it's a big disappointment for our team and our fans. Alexei is one of our leaders and had been playing some of his best hockey over the last few weeks. But throughout the history of this league, the good teams have always found a way to step up when one of their top players goes down. ``I know our guys will do the same." Yashin, who is making $8.4 million US this season, is tied for the team lead in scoring with 24 points including 12 goals in 33 games. The Isles (15-15-2-1) are ninth in the Eastern Conference, one point behind Tampa Bay for the final playoff spot. |
I've got so many injuries going on right now too.
|
Kayria ({)
|
I want to team up the tag team champs :'(
When is Kariya back? "Indefinately" is just bollocks  |
Speaking of injuries, Heatley skated the other day.
I'm going to laugh at everyone when he comes back in February and helps me win every league. :shifty: Well, it COULD happen (McWOOOOOOORLD) |
I will also laugh, when Mike Johnson and Paul Kariya come back into my team, and molest everyone
|
oooo man
Forsberg, Cechmanek, and now Yashin I am fuc</>ked for a while. however, Forsberg is due back this weekend. he should act like 5 or 6 Yashins anyway with the way he's (Yashin) played for the last 2 years. but Cech :( . Raycroft is gonna have to carry my goaltending for now. I'm obviously looking to trade for a goalie now, so offer me some stuff. |
Whew, lucky break there with Yashin
Now you have another scapegoat for when you're still losing 8-2 and Forsberg's playing |

Yay, I forgot to dress Ilya, and now Yahoo won't let me play Modano because apparantly "his team has already played." Considering Dallas doesn't play for oh about 10 minutes, I'm pretty pissed off.

I wouldn't mind a half-decent starting goalie for Handzus or someone mid-cardish :o
|
<font color="#ccffcc">
not a bad week. won 9-1 and 9-2 in leagues 1 and 2 respectively. league #2 should be a good battle for top spot. </font> |
I got killed by the hosers :'(
in the Rajah league I didn't make goalie starts so I went from 8-1, to 6-4 I R mad-sad |
what the hell is going on :tear:
my guys have yet to be healthy at the same time. Murray and Kovalev are wayyy underachieving, and the ****ing bruins are tying left and right which gives me no wins for raycroft. And what's with all of my opponets getting SHPs in the last like 4 weeks? 14th place bullshit  don't worry, I'll make a comeback |
Quote:
yeah same happened to my opponent in league number 2, didn't realize they give out a win in the shutout catagory as well. </font> |
Wow, I ended up tying... not bad, I say. Being down 1-9 then coming back to 5-5 is pritty hottt
Still on top in league #2  Facing da_king though, who's 3 points behind me... this'll be a good week |
ouch @ hero's D.
Ozolinsh is out for 10 more weeks. Now he has 3 on IR and one N A |

LOL @ St. Louis |
Weight still had an assissssst
And Recchi is the man  Straka has a goal tonight too :[ |
How's that for some powerplay, Mr. Tkachuk  :shifty:
|
Im looking to make some deals
anyone is up for Grabs. I'm stacked with too many New York players. I have 4 NYI's and I'm looking to cut down to like 2. I have 3 rangers and that's not a big deal really but I'm looking to trade Kovalev. I'd like to deal some of my Bruins. Murray, Knuble (who are, like Thornton currently struggling but that line is too good to keep it up), Jillson and Potvin. and for D, everyone is up there too. Leetch is Leetch. McCabe gets points and PIM, Tarnstrom gets mostly powerplay points, and Rafalski is a great +/- and point man. I want to shake things up. Take a look at my team and offer something. |
I'd want Cechmanek, but I dunno how long he's out for, and I dunno what you'd want for him :o
|
well If I'm gonna trade my #1 goalie I'd want a goalie in return
like a lesser goalie and a forward or something. But I dunno about trading any of my goalies because I need help there  ANT, would you like a forward? or a Dman? |
I dropped Hedberg, so I have nothing to offer in Goaltending :o
I was thinking though with him being injured though, that could maybe get him at a "discounted" price as opposed to if he was playing, I dunno. A starting goalie who isn't shite is my #1 priority right now, Kovalev interests me a little but I don't really want to go out of my way to get him. :-\ I need to check with teh K-man :$ |
made you an offer
|
actually made 2 offers
|
I'm only really looking for a G, countered :o
|
I dunno what you'd be looking for non-goalie wise for Cechmanek though
|
Also, you could pick up Fleury :naughty:
|
like I said, I'm not trading Cech for just forwards
and he's worth alot more than what you offered anyway :-/ |
worth a shot
|
lol barely :D
|
check your offers ant
|
nah :@
i wouldn't mind trading in two of my guys for one guy equal to them, but i'm not that bothered right now with Kariya and Johnson on IR |
ever since trading for Thorton, things have been going down hill for me.
|
ever since trading for Murray things have been going downhill for me
