They need to keep it, especially since he was in the main event of Summerslam 2004 and all.

This means the next WWE star DVD to come out is the 3 disc Rey Mysterio The Biggest Little Man which comes out Oct 23rd. Then in November you have 3 big 3 disc releases with Cena, HBK, and Austin. Then WCCW in early Dec to round out the year.

So does this mean that we may never see a DVD set ever again with a Benoit match in it?

Very possible although WWE is saying right now just for the time being.

If someone is offened enough by benoit that they dont want to see another benoit match ever again, then they don't HAVE to watch it. Taking it out is fucking retarded.

Honestly, it's probably for the best to avoid Benoit matches for the time being until things settle down. A few more months (into 2008) and they shouldn't think twice about adding a Benoit match.

The Supershow in Italy in April is coming out on DVD in Europe and Benoit was in a 6 man tag match on the Smackdown Show and its not listed for the DVD.

Picked up the Wrestling Families dvd today, haven't watched it yet but it should be good. No idea why Carlito is presenting it though.

Pretty decent DVD although they could have done a lot more with it.

Lastly, the other you mentioned a delay in the Austin DVD. Could that be due to Benoit? If so, it raises an interesting question. Will be Benoit be erased from all upcoming releases-no matter how important he is to that story?

DM: My impression on the Austin DVD is they are releasing "The Condemned" first and don't want to release an Austin DVD on the heels of it, so they are giving them time between the two. Right now the idea is no Benoit stuff, but in time, that could change.

yea, it was alright. But it definately could of had better matches and more time on the families I think.

The only matches on there worth seeing were the WCCW 6 man tag, the Steamboat/Youngblood vs Briscos, The Harts vs Knights and Taker vs Orton.

Yeah, I loved the Harts vs Knights match as a kid, glad its on there.

Combs and Hennan bickering was hilarous as well.

This is great news for fans who wanted just those volumes as they were the 2 most popular as they had never been out on DVD in the states before. WWE is deciding what to do with the Benoit footage for RR Volumes 3 and 4 before putting them out for individual release.

How they hell are they gonna put out the Rumble that Benoit won with him erased?

I can see it now...they are gonna re-write history...never show Benoit and in the end when its just him and Big Show they will edit footage in with Show being declared the winner...

Some good news. Circuit City released a Summerslam pack of Slams 04-06. While there was a diff cover for 04 (Benoit was on it) and Benoit matches werent listed on the cover the material was still on the DVD. So hopefully WWE does this with the ANthology as well.

Just downloaded every SummerSlam up to 2006 uncut and unedited from PW Torrents so I won't have to worry about the anthology. Gonna work on Survivor Series now. :y:

D-Mac did you get the full complete PPV versions of the S-Series or the edited Coliesum Home Video Versions?

Some of the early ones are the Coliseum Video ones yeah. But the later ones are the PPV versions.

That has to suck because the early ones had some good long elimination matches. Especially the tags at 87 and 88. I hope to see them complete on the S Series Anthology when it does come out.

PW Torrents is the greatest thing ever. Been making my own DVD's with cases and box art and everything. I need to buy the Double Side DVD's that hold like 4 hour though so I can burn them as videos instead of files.

yea, I have all the old original Coliseum videos and they're clipped. But I like it like that. so i can't complain.

Probably the thing to do is just buy the first 2 volumes of the anthology. Before Benoit. And download the ones with Beniot.

That def is the thing to do. Buy the first 2 volumes as they havent been released on DVD in the states before while generally you can DL or already own the last 2 volumes individually on DVD.

J.R. said we will never see a Benoit match on WWE DVDS again. He mentioned that it wouldnt even be on a Orton DVD down the line even though Ortons title win over Benoit was his biggest moment in his career thus far.

So WWE did their top ten summerslam moments on their website a few weeks back and I just read it, there's a video of Orton tlaking about how he beat the Undertaker for the belt at Summerslam and then the article on Orton winning the belt they don't even mention his opponent. So yeah, looks like there are going to be a whole shit load of history to be re-written.
