Then take into account Kobe Bryant, who is allowed to take five steps on a layup.

Are you going to tell me the Refs aren't biased against the Lakers? You gonna say they weren't biased in the playoffs last year, either? o_O

lol hey buddy check out that Laker game with the Kings. That will totally null any argument you just made.

Everyone takes 5 steps in the NBA and doesnt get called for a walk, its normal now.

AlphaBean 04-13-2004 01:00 PM

So what happened? Did the refs finally call the Lakers for something? Good.

Anyway, ****! San Antonio faces um, is it the Nugs in the final game of the season? A team that can take the night off to rest up for the Playoffs, but San Antonio wants this game more than anything. I hope the Nuggets decide they'll have a better chance against Minnesota so they play their asses off against the Spurs.

The Outlaw 04-13-2004 01:45 PM

lol, Vlade flops like normal, Kobe, Shaq, and DG have 2 fouls in the first quarter. SHaq in the first 3 minutes or so

Dont be mad cuz the Lakers put your team out of the playoffs

DaveWadding 04-13-2004 04:26 PM

DENVER, MOTHERFU</>CKERS! I told you so.

LOL

Did you see MCamb talking the stuff to Christie?

He is pretty nassty

Jesus Shuttlesworth 04-13-2004 04:59 PM

Lakers do get more calls then anyone else in the league

Especailly now since all "Superstars" get a ton of calls..and since they got a ton of superstars now..

The Outlaw 04-13-2004 05:03 PM

There is only one team that comes to mind that got more calls than any other team

And I think we all know who that was

BCWWF 04-13-2004 08:31 PM

On ESPN.com they had the power rankings, and had San Antonio on top because they are going out of the season on a 7 game win streak or something...maybe they should look at Minnesota, who is up in the standings and looks to go out just as hot as the Spurs. People these days, ugh.

Speaking of getting in the faces, did you see Raja Bell (I think it was) push Sprewell last night? He got up in the face fo shizzle my nizzle.

Timberwolves just can't lose to Memphis, otherwise its the three seed.

The Outlaw 04-13-2004 09:14 PM

Spree would mess him up

AlphaBean 04-13-2004 11:21 PM

Lakers get more calls than the Bulls, because 4 superstars get 4x as many calls as 1... even if it was Jordan, who never had to dribble the ball...

The Outlaw 04-13-2004 11:24 PM

rofl

ahaha

Crimson 04-14-2004 12:32 AM

Bad calls or no bad calls are you saying the Lakers won those championships because of the refs? Yes they do get calls at times, but so does any other team on their home floor.

Looks like Dallas is set for the 5th seed. They will be out in 5 if it's the Lakers or Spurs.

Yeah it was obviously the refs fault that Robert Horry's shot went in to beat the Kings in game 6 two years ago

Which by the way was the best 7 game series I have ever seen

AlphaBean 04-14-2004 05:10 PM

Bad calls a) Give you that slight advantage that will kill a run, will break the spirit of a team trying to upset, or will take a team's star player out of the game early, negating any chance they had. Bad calls can reeeeeeeeeeeeeally make a difference. Say Shaq gets fouled out in the 3rd quarter. That's an entire quarter where another team can pound the paint. Now, if you called everything that occurs, Shaq would be fouled out after 15 minutes. That's three quarters without Shaq, and without Shaq, the Lakers don't win.

So am I saying that if they didn't get calls, would they not have won? I have no idea. What I'm saying is we will never know, because there has never been a time when the Lakers didn't get the calls, at least since they got swept by the Spurs like five years ago.

And if I remember correctly, something shady did happen before that 3-pointer by Horry. There was a bad call or a no-call that set up for it. And the Kings took it to the Lakers the closest ever, and that's because they flopped like crazy to use the Refs against the Lakers. Other teams could learn from that.

Then of course last year, when the Spurs took it, but that was because Kobe was out, and Shaq couldn't get any calls because the NBA loves Tim Duncan, and TD took it to Shaq hard.

The Outlaw 04-14-2004 07:45 PM

LOL what

If they called everything that occurs, there would be no team left to play. You dont make much sense

Shaq uses his body to his advantage. But he does the same thing KG does, he does the same thing that Duncan does, he does the same thing that Jermaine O'Neal does. The difference is he is a lot stronger and bigger so everybody bitches and moans about it, mainly the ones that got put out in the first round by the Lakers ;)

YES, you finally made a point. They FLOPPED. Mainly Vlade Divac. If the refs haven't figured out that he has made a living out of flopping they need to be evaluated and reevaluated.

They flopped because the refs don't see the fouls.

Shaq throws elbows like crazy. Shawn Bradley does it and is always called. Shaq does it, and someone hits his elbow with their face... what is called? DEFENSIVE FOUL.

KG doesn't do that shit, man!

Ninti Ishkur 04-14-2004 08:49 PM

The Wolves better lose tonight.

Wit that said, the Spurs better win tonight.

Nah, Shaq bumps them with his body and it just shows a lot more than someone like KG, JMaine, etc.

Shawn Bradley has elbows?

I was on the phone having a serious conversation with my girlfriend, like, trying to sound serious and upset... then I saw on the news "Midwest division champions, #1 seed" and I yelped in happiness and was like "*ahem* uh... yeah... sorry..."

Crimson 04-15-2004 01:02 AM

Hey Bean ,remember when the Nuggets upset the 1 seeded Sonics back in 94? Only this time it's gonna be Carmelo hugging the ball under the basket at the end of game 7. :)

Well actually, i'd give Denver a shot if it was still a 5 game series...but it should still go 6.

The East 1st round games suck, none of the series interest me except maybe the Hornets/Heat. And the Knicks i think will upset the Nets, and everyone will be on Isiah's jock.

AlphaBean 04-15-2004 03:54 AM

Starbury can't do shit. Kidd will make him his BITCH.

And the Nuggets I ain't skerred of. Hassell held Melo down before, hopefully he can do it again.

I'm more afraid of Camby, who, I might add, is the big guy who will be crying like a baby if they win. Cause he's ugly like Mutombo.

Anyway, I like the Nugs. Andre Miller is a stud, and Camby used to be my favorite player. I want the Wolves to pick him up.

The putback dunk he used to do all the time was so pretty. That's why I loved the Camby/Spree/LJ Knicks so much. Houston, meh. It's all about Camby Spree and LJ.

Ninti the Mad 04-15-2004 09:38 AM

This is the most exciting playoff year in awhile.

It's anyone's game.

I can even see those 8 seeds putting up a big challenge.

Saturday marks the beginning.

LOL, ummm no. The regular season roster is totally different than the playoff roster. They put those three on the IL last night because they weren't going to risk getting them injured in a meaningless game. The three guys who were activated for last night (Skita, Pope, Trepagnier) won't be on the playoff roster.

Ninti the Mad 04-16-2004 09:39 AM

When the San Antonio Spurs play the Los Angles Lakers that might as well be the NBA Final, cause whomever wins what are the champs. That being said my prediction on this particular game is a bit of wishful thinking on my part.

BCWWF 04-17-2004 03:24 AM

I don't know if you just failed to notice, but the Lakers just aren't that good this year. They were much better off with just Kobe and Shaq. They have been so streaky this year, they played real well early when all four guys were healthy, and they played real good after Malone came back, and now they are fading off again. They aren't bad, but quit talking them up like nobody can beat them because we have all seen so often this year, people can, they will be out after the second round, guaranteed.

BCWWF 04-17-2004 03:26 AM

Not to be biased or anything, but the West is between the Wolves and the Spurs, period.

That's the type of cockiness I hear from Yankees and Lakers fans... Minnesota fans aren't quite ready to be that cocky... :-\

I understand why Minnesota fans are so optomistic and think they can beat anyone. But this is the playoffs people, it's the BEST OF SEVEN. The Wolves should consider themselves lucky they are in opposite brackets of the Lakers and Spurs cuz they actually have a chance at the west finals. But, if both teams healthy they won't be able to beat either team. But we'll see what happens for all I know the Rockets will upset the Lakers .

Wolves don't have a chance in a best of seven?

With the depth they have now, :foc: to Troy Hudson, they can ball with anyone, especially since they're on a hot streak. Remember, they finished with the best record in the NBA.

Pacers can suck it, they're facing a sub-500 team in the freaking playoffs. East is nothing. West is what matters, the Wolves were the worst... despite having a losing streak.

It's not quite so cut and dried anymore. KG has help, and KG is MVP. Spre's been in the finals, and Sam has won it all. We'll see. :y:
