DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM!?

Heros Welcome 05-18-2009 03:15 PM

This movie is going to kick all kinds off ass, so the more threads the better!

Not sure if it will be better than either Transformers. Not sure if it will even be good. I'll wait until I've seen them to make that ruling.

G 05-18-2009 04:52 PM

This will make half of what Transformers does at the "Box Office"

Jeritron 05-18-2009 04:55 PM

It will probably get beaten by Night at the Museum 2 this weekend, which is funny and sad at the same time.

G 05-18-2009 04:57 PM

I want to see that so fucking bad. First one is one of my favorite movies.

shut up

The Mask 05-19-2009 02:05 AM

i can't wait. i'm gutted it gets released earlier in north america cause i'm gonna be tempted to download it or spoil it for myself which is shit.

Heros Welcome 05-21-2009 02:28 AM

Just got back from seeing it and I loved it!

I think the critics went in with expectations too high. We all know that there's not going to be another T1 or T2. I thought T3 was fun to watch but for this I felt it was better then the previous.

Its a summer movie that was really fun to watch and I can't wait to see if they do in fact make another.

I say GO SEE IT

Jeritron 05-21-2009 02:46 AM

Just got back from it and didn't love it. I didn't "hate it."

It wasn't awful. It had it's moments, but they were all nostalgia trips. The movie didn't really offer anything new. The plot was somewhat boring and the characters were borderline awful.
Marcus Wright was cool, but they didn't do anything more with him than was shown in the trailer. There was no depth or examination there.

Action scenes were great. Overall I say, not bad but pretty damn mediocre. If you're a sucker for gunfire and explosions, it will not dissapoint, but I can't really see anything in the plot/characters/ or Terminator mythology that would please the mind.

Shaggy 05-21-2009 11:18 PM

Just saw it this afternoon and was really let down by it....

Its funny because I went in having very low expectations but then they were raised up in the upcomming weeks only to be shot down when watching it.

I actually didnt care for Bales performance and thought it wasnt that great but really loved Sam Worthingtons performance.

I think the main reason I didnt care for the movie was because it suffers from the fact that we already knew so much about it from the other three films....

SPOILER: show
We already know from the other films that Conner, Reese and Kate are alive and well a while into the resistance so the fear of any of these characters dying was no were near my head. Granted the end did have me thinking other wise for just a split second considering it plays along with what Arnold says in T3.

But 2 things that I absolutely loved about the film...

SPOILER: show
I loved the little twist near the end where it was revealed that Marcus was actualy working for the machines without himself knowing it. Also it was pretty good how the Machines turned the signal beacon back on the Resistance...

But the greatest moment of all was when the door to the chamber blasts open and out walks Arnold..the whole theater actually cheered a bit.

dronepool 05-22-2009 12:38 AM

I liked it, it was good. It would have been nice if it was a bit longer to span out more things- but it's still good. I hope we get a longer directors cut DVD/Bluray.

on my first viewing it gets 3.5 out of 5.

CharismaInjection 05-22-2009 08:30 PM

Anyone likely to have a picture of the T-800 (Arnies' Terminator) from the film soon?
Once I heared they were digitally putting Arnie's face on a body double's body, ive been very curious to see how it turned out.

Better than anyone could have expected.... Looked like Arnold from T1 had come back.

Jeritron 05-24-2009 12:56 AM

From far away it looked legit. When they showed it up close it looked kinda like a video game though

Kris P Lettus 05-24-2009 04:50 PM

My bother saw it yesterday and said it was a HUGE disappointment..

Reavant 05-24-2009 05:06 PM

anyone who says this movie sucked is an idiot... it was awsome and had a really good storyline

Kris P Lettus 05-24-2009 05:15 PM

He just said that he was expecting huge war scenes between the human and machines and never got that..

G 05-24-2009 07:38 PM

OOOOHHHHHHH GOOD

Wow, that's stupid. I mean, why would they put huge war scenes of humans and robots fighting in a movie about a war between humans and killer robots? That would make sense and be awesome.

Hanso Amore 05-27-2009 09:41 PM

I liked the movie for the most part.

I kind of wish they would have changed the ending a bit though.

And when they revealed MArcus as a machine in the trailer, they gave way too much away...no surprise to this movie.

I think it has too big of epectations to live up to.

They didnt try to make a classic here, they tried to reboot a franchise and set up for sequels.

I compare this, oddly enough, to another Bale Movie....The Dark Knight.

Good (Not Great) Movie, restarting a franchise. I just hope round 2 can live up to the Dark Knight...

Hanso Amore 05-27-2009 09:42 PM

I mean, what if the next flick comes around and is 2 hours of Epic Machine Battle...This Franchise still has alot to offer.

YOUR Hero 05-29-2009 10:08 AM

From what I have read (admitedly not alllll that much) it wasn't really a reboot, but a continuation, a clip of action and story we 'kinda' already knew.

Yes?/No?

Hanso Amore 05-29-2009 11:55 AM

Well it is not a full on reboot

But it brings forth the idea that they are in a new Future, which has changed. Everything is different, and I think they are move the franchise in a new direction, and this was a setup.

Zeeboe 05-29-2009 12:18 PM

Saw this last Monday, and really enjoyed it. Christian Bale was great. So was that kid who played Kyle Reese. He had the same tone of voice that Michael Biehn had in the first Terminator. He even made simular facial expressions. The kid must have studied Biehn's acting from the first one.

I thought the best part of the movie....

SPOILER: show
....was when Arnold showed up. Granted, it was a CGI Arnold, but still, I felt like clapping and cheering when he appeared, and was smiling like a fanboy.

What Would Kevin Do? 05-29-2009 01:08 PM

Okay, I have a major problem with the ending, mainly from a writing/directing standpoint.

SPOILER: show

Why in the fuck did the movie not end with them burying Marcus? After all the talk of "The difference between humans and robots is we bury our dead." and "No one will be there to bury you." Seriously, most of the movie revolves around him either being human or machine, yet they leave out the fricking obvious scene that should be in it? Come on.

Xero 05-29-2009 02:54 PM

It was okay. I thought they put WAY too much emphasis on the action and not enough on the story.

My biggest problem, and someone explain to me if there's a reason for this...

SPOILER: show
There were no dogs in the film except during the resistance base escape scene, and there you only hear them. It's established I think in the first film (and reinforced in the second) that dogs can sense Terminators and that a lot of survivors have dogs in the future for that very reason. At the very least there should have been a few near the base's entrance.

The ONLY reason I can see this happening is if they discover this after 2016, which makes no sense to me.

That was the only plot hole I had a problem with.

theres a few vids on youtube, one has apart of the fight buts its pretty hard to make out though gives you an idea of how he looks, definately more terminator 1 look than t2.

<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/0GR10-x6Bgc&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/0GR10-x6Bgc&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>

Then theres this vid that seems to have 2 pretty clear stills from the movie, i won't embed it as it shows the pic as part of the description and some poeple are prone to shitting their pants over stuff like this if theyve not seen it yet.

Do we hear Arnie's Terminator talk? I heared a rumour he was providing his voice

I heard the same thing but from what ive read he doesn't speak.

Xero 05-30-2009 01:25 PM

I heard the same, but no, he did not speak.

The Chris Rosa 05-30-2009 02:31 PM

So anyway, yeah, this movie sucked.

I'll never understand why suits in charge of multimillion dollar franchises always make piss poor decisions about films and who directs/stars/writes/produces (This is a general statement, more specifically, I'm bitching about McG). It's like every damn company besides a select few just purposely shill trash as fast as possible just because people will conusme it and come back for more....

Wait a minute...

I'm guessing he'll probably be back if they make another one.

Yeah, I thought this movie was pretty fun and marked out like a bitch when "Ahnold" appeared.

The Mask 06-03-2009 04:12 PM

i like it. it obviously wasn't as good as the first two but it was way better than i originally hoped, especially after reading some of the reviews. totally dicked over T3. i heard a few people say it's bales worst performance to date as well which i don't particularly agree with (though i can't really name you a bad performance). he sort of played connor with an semi-emotional detatchment which i think is fitting, especially when you see that detatchment break in a few scenes but in a really subtle way (when he first returns back to his missus and when he first meets kyle). i was a little bit disappointed there wasn't a bigger response when he first sees the arnie terminator.

i think there were a few stupid bits but overall it's a good continuation of the franchise and the marcus character is a really good idea.

don't agree there should be huge battles with terminators either. in fact i thought it was kinda stupid they had big plane to HK dogfights, i'd like it approached more like kyle and star or whatever she's called destroyed the terminator with the minigun, with traps and what not. going into a big lord of the rings battle against near bulletproof machines would be stupid.

Reavant 06-03-2009 07:00 PM

when do they get the laser weapons they had in T2 flash forwords?

Sixx 06-03-2009 07:17 PM

OK so could someone tell me was it Arnold's face on Roland Kickinger's body or what?

Thats a new trailer which pretty much has all the closeups of cgi arnie in it.

Stickman 06-13-2009 02:17 AM

Maybe I'm lost in the plot line of the 4 movies, and maybe the past has been changed because of the future or something but are we ever going to see how the time machine sent Arnie back in time for the first 2? And how about the T9000 or whatever the liquid terminator in T2 came about? Are they just ignoring the first few movies and going off on tangents?

Like I say, maybe I am lost and all that was explained.

Reavant 06-15-2009 05:27 PM

well, he has to send back kyle first, and when he does that, hes already the savior of man kind so that has to happen first
