Remember when Liriano was robbed of being an All-Star because he only had 10 or 11 starts and then he was in the last man vote and AJ Piersynski beat him?

Remember Joey Slugs? And remember The Miz "ripping him a new arsehole"

Nervous Ferret 06-19-2010 12:12 AM

Liriano was on the roster anyway though because a couple guys had pitched that Sunday before

If they have to add Strasburg because pitchers cant play, then fine. But he shouldnt be picked as a part of the first 34 man roster.

Dragon 06-19-2010 01:38 AM

Hopefully the Yankees get their #3 and 4 hitters back sometime this year.

Girardi needs to do something to shake up the lineup but there really are only 3 guys hitting at all right now. Moving Tex and his .220 average out of the 3 spot for a while would be a good start. Kind of amazing how bad he is still doing this late in the season.

MVP 06-19-2010 12:14 PM

I can't believe the AL East right now. The best record in baseball is shared by the Rays and Yankees, and the Red Sox have the 2nd best record and are only 1 game back now.

Going to the Sox/Dodgers game today for my first interleague game. Hopefully they get to Vicente Padilla early since Wakefield will probably need all the run support he can get.

Evil Vito 06-19-2010 03:19 PM

Ugh, I knew I shouldn't have started Pelfrey today. But after being awesome all season and doing really well against the Yanks last time, I figured he earned the benefit of the doubt. :(

Evil Vito 06-19-2010 03:54 PM

Pretty sure if I was a manager, I'd make a policy on swinging at the first pitch. Every time you swing at the first pitch and it results in an out - you get a fine. Fine is doubled if it results in a double play.

Proceeds go to charity of course. :shifty:

Even crazier is Torono in 4th place in the A.L. East is in the top 6/7 for records in the A.L. and around top 10/11 in all of MLB.

Pirates fire one of their giant racing wieners for criticizing management giving contract extensions to the GM and manager of the club.

Dont forget the team thats on pace to lose the most games in a 162 game season.

Current Record 1962 Mets 40-120-1
Record through 67 Games: 19-48
2010 Orioles through 67 games 18-49

The Os worst season ever was 1988 when they started 0-21 and finished 54-107. Through 67 games that season they were 18-49, same as this year. But at that point, the 1988 Orioles were 9-11 over their last 20 games, this year they are 3-17.

Nervous Ferret 06-19-2010 10:30 PM

Can't believe they lost 21 straight games to start the season

Nervous Ferret 06-19-2010 10:31 PM

20 games under .500 after their first win

Rev. Hallowell 06-20-2010 12:05 AM

Today I'm watching the Pirates blow it from my mom's house in West Virginia. Tomorrow I'll get to see them blow it from behind right field.

Is it Football season yet?

Droford 06-20-2010 12:27 AM

the Os are about to blow another 9th inning lead to the Padres, this time a 2 run lead instead of last nights 1 run lead.

Holy Crap..they didnt blow it. Millwood finally wins his 1st game.

wow

Cooler Tom Schuler 06-20-2010 12:34 AM

Minnesota comes back from a 5 run deficit, scoring 9 runs after the 8th inning to beat the Phils. Absurdulous.

Skippord 06-20-2010 12:56 AM

Chris Nelson is the most gangster Rockies player ever I think

Rev. Hallowell 06-20-2010 01:38 AM

Buccs nearly blow a 5-1 lead, but win 6-4

OssMan 06-20-2010 02:21 AM

I miss Thug Life Ronnie Belliard and Elijah Dukes on the Nationals.

Supreme Olajuwon 06-20-2010 03:51 AM

Marlins had vuvuzela night tonight

and they lost. good. fucks.

YOUR Hero 06-20-2010 01:02 PM

weird game last night between the Marlins and Rays

Skippord 06-20-2010 04:50 PM

Tommy LaSorda just called Todd Helton Tim Helton

MVP 06-20-2010 06:29 PM

Kind of like when Tim McCarver says "Luis Pujols".

Evil Vito 06-20-2010 06:40 PM

Mets finally send Jenrry Mejia down to the minors

He's been good in the bullpen, but it's pretty doubtful that Hisanori Takahashi and R.A. Dickey will be able to continue pitching out of their minds in the rotation all season. Hopefully Mejia can get stretched out and continue pitching well, he could wind up in the rotation in August.

Rev. Hallowell 06-21-2010 02:01 AM

It's official, the Pirates are undefeated in game I've attended...1-0

And my Daughter has a souvenier courtesy of Andrew McCutchen:

Got tickets for D'Backs/Yankees tomorrow. D'Backs are going to get the shit kicked out of them probably. Depends on both teams' pitching.

Dragon 06-21-2010 03:40 AM

Burnett could just as easily get demolished as he could throw up a gem so tomorrow's game could go either way.

ClockShot 06-21-2010 11:14 AM

Yeah. Nowadays with Burnett, you get either Dr. Jekyll or Mr. Hyde. No inbetween.

Innovator 06-21-2010 11:16 AM

Yeah AJ is either going 7 strong or struggling to get through 4

Nowadays?

Check out the guy's career.

Innovator 06-21-2010 04:20 PM

Wow Hero is closing in on 100k

Innovator 06-21-2010 11:25 PM

Well didn't take AJ long to flame out

ClockShot 06-21-2010 11:28 PM

Mr. Hyde is in the building.

Innovator 06-21-2010 11:32 PM

Hyde didn't hit traffic, got there by the 1st

quite the opposite :(

DaveWadding 06-22-2010 02:37 AM

J-Up loves Noo Yawk.

Pretty pathetic showing by D'Backs fans though. Consistently outcheered by the Yankees fans (of which there were far too many) in attendance.

Schlomey 06-22-2010 02:55 AM

the reds game against the A's was pretty tight. Back to back homers in the tenth with almost a third one....pretty tight.

DaveWadding 06-22-2010 03:32 AM

Best moment of the night by far was the organization announcing Gonzo for the "Legends Race" gimmick during the game because they showed the 2001 World Series clip. Every Yankees fan in the building got sick to their stomach then tried to boo and got crushed by the loudly cheering D'Backs fans. FAN-tastic.

Supreme Olajuwon 06-22-2010 08:50 AM

Reds about to sign Lil Sarge to a minor league contract. Vito will be thrilled.

Evil Vito 06-22-2010 10:43 PM

GMJ probably put his cap on backwards to convince Reds management that he was actually Junior coming out of retirement.
