As a Cowboys fan, the one team in the NFC that scares the living shit out of me is Green Bay. When I think of Dallas playing any others there's some level of confidence with the way they're playing right now. When I think of them playing Green Bay, there's an "Oh shit" feeling in the back of my mind. Ever since Rodgers was like "lol relax, fuckers" (paraphrasing) I've felt like he knows something about the script that I don't.

road doggy dogg 10-24-2014 03:34 PM

Rodgers ALWAYS knows something we don't. He is a cyborg.

I took the SD season over of 8 games (need 9+ or it's a push). I have faith they will reach that.

I think the "teams to beat" in descending-ish order are:

AFC
Denver
Indianapolis
San Diego
Cincinatti
New England
Baltimore

NFC:
Dallas
Green Bay
Arizona
Detroit
Philadelphia

(not really going out on a limb there)

I could see any of those AFC teams taking it. NFC I think it will be one of the top three I listed, as much as I would fucking diiiiiiiiiiie to see the Lions I don't think their offense is reliable enough at this point (so strange to say)

Ravens are better than the Chargers, patriots and Bengals. Don't know why you would include the Bengals when the only reason they have a better record than the Browns is because of a tie.

In the NFC side, I wouldn't have Detroit anywhere near a top 5 even though they're 5-2.

road doggy dogg 10-24-2014 04:22 PM

Hey look, you highly over-rate your favorite team then call someone else for doing the same. sports.

road doggy dogg 10-24-2014 04:23 PM

The only other NFC teams besides the ones I listed that I could entertain being considered better than Detroit would be maybe SF and Seattle. Not a stretch to say they're a top-5 team in the conference at this point in the season.

How would the Ravens at #3 behind the Broncos and Colts be overated ? They're clearly better than the Patriots. The Pats were in disarray a couple weeks ago and then they went and beat a shitty Bengals team, average Bills team and barely beat the jets and now theyre better than the Ravens..lol give me a break.
As far as the Chargers, their little hot streak has cooled off and its clear their defense isnt any good and Rivers is coming back to earth after his hot start. 2 losses in their division and they'll probably lose to Denver and KC again (not to mention the game in Baltimore)

screech 10-24-2014 05:24 PM

Chargers won't lose to KC twice.

screech 10-24-2014 05:27 PM

I want to say the Ravens are better than the Bengals, because they're certainly playing better right now. But the Bengals won the first head to head, so it doesn't really make sense. If BAL wins like I hope they will, then we can put them ahead.

screech 10-24-2014 05:34 PM

How would Detroit, one of 5 NFC teams with at least 5 wins, not be "anywhere near" a top 5 spot in the NFC?

Please tell us about all the awesome teams the Ravens have beaten this year.

You probably shouldn't be trying to use the "This team you have ahead of them hasn't beaten anyone good" argument as a way to support the Ravens being better. Especially since one of those teams you listed as "shitty" beat the Ravens this season. In Baltimore.

road doggy dogg 10-24-2014 05:51 PM

I'll give you the Bengals, I'm still bullish on them for whatever stupid reason

Droford 10-24-2014 05:52 PM

Bengals haven't won since week 3. Its not that they lost to the Pats and Colts, its that they were routed on both sides of the ball. And they could only manage a 37 all tie with the panthers at home, a team the Ravens beat 38-10 at home 2 weeks prior. I don't see how a fluky win over the Ravens week 1 should negate the past month of games.

Bengals have an easy schedule ahead outside of a week 16 game with the Broncos vs the Ravens playing the Chargers week 13. They still both have to play the Saints in New Orleans back to back weekswhich looked like a difficult game before the season but right now not as much.

Its not the Ravens fault the NFC south sucks this year. Before the season if I had told you the Ravens would beat the Buccaneers Falcons and Panthers by combined score of 115-34 you would have called me crazy.

They also beat the Steelers who despite their win on Monday aren't fooling me, but they have a better record than the Bengals.

Bucs, Jaguars, Texans, Falcons, Titans, Browns (2) should all be wins which is 7.

Colts, Chargers and Dolphins are toss ups though I think the Chargers and Dolphins being near the end of the season helps the chances of winning 2 of them.

outside of Division games with Pittsburgh and Cincinnati, the two toughest games will be Panthers and at the Saints. Winning in new Orleans (when its not the Super Bowl) is hard..the Panthers in Baltimore will be rough too. 0-2 strong possibility.

They can split the Steeler/Bengal Series and still get 11 wins.

Falcons were pretty much a cakewalk lol and I was way off on the Panthers. My feeling on the Saints game hinges on how they play this Sunday at home vs the Packers. A loss drops them to 2-5 and even though the NFC south winner could be 8-8, its pretty much their season.

#1-norm-fan 10-24-2014 06:19 PM

So you're giving the Ravens a pass on the teams they've beaten because they can't control their schedule but not doing the same with the Patriots. Got it.

You weren't paying attention, never said they were the best. I actually think that's the Colts not the Broncos..

Oh. Droford finds a game where Cincy dominated/shut out Baltimore for 3 quarters and forced Baltimore to have to mount a comeback just to lose by 7 a fluke win. Shocker.

I bet he doesn't find Baltimore's 2 point win over Cleveland where Cleveland missed 2 field goals in the 4th quarter a fluke win for Baltimore. I bet he doesn't. Because... you know... Droford logic and all.

Clerk 10-24-2014 08:05 PM

Why y'all questioning demarco? He's a great back. Doing well. Stop doubting him jerks.

RP 10-24-2014 10:48 PM

Phil Rivers sucks a dong better than anyone I've ever seen this side of whatever the opposite side Rdd is on.

Playoff Generator

With up to date results up to Thursday night's game. Just pick your winners for each game and see what the playoffs would look like.

Ruien 10-25-2014 11:06 AM

Whow, I have Carolina winning their division at 7-8-1 and Seattle missing the playoffs. Geez

Kris P Lettus 10-25-2014 01:47 PM

Why is the Panthers Seahawks game scheduled to air on CBS tomorrow?

Droford 10-25-2014 02:05 PM

The exclusivity of conference games to specific networks ended this year. The Panthers/Ravens game was on CBS earlier it would normally have been on FOX because the NFC was the road team.

#1-norm-fan 10-25-2014 06:46 PM

They flex day/afternoon games now just like they do Sunday night games to ensure CBS and Fox both have competitive games for most of the country to watch.

Droford 10-25-2014 06:49 PM

Lol Shonn Greene

#1-norm-fan 10-25-2014 06:52 PM

Really? Not gonna go into any detail on that post. Just leaving it at that, huh? I guess I'll look it up myself.

#1-norm-fan 10-25-2014 06:55 PM

Oh. Shonn Greene was arrested on multiple charges after trying to avoid getting ticketed for parking in a handicap space.

Apparently he thinks being a shitty running back is a disability.

owenbrown 10-25-2014 07:18 PM

seems to be the status quo of the Titans recently.... shitty (insert player position here)

Simple Fan 10-25-2014 08:14 PM

Browns might not make the playoffs this year but hey look on the bright side We will be a 11-5 team next year having Manziel start and Josh Gordon full season.

They should relocate the Browns to LA. Then there'd be a bright side.

Delusional much?

Droford 10-26-2014 09:52 AM

For whatever reason I'm up watching this lions/falcons game..gonna laugh when the Falcons win

Droford 10-26-2014 10:06 AM

Lol, the "real 1 defense" in the NFL didn't give up 2 TDs to the Falcons in the 1st quarter last week..hence why I said they dont belong in a top 5

SlickyTrickyDamon 10-26-2014 12:38 PM

Isn't an offensive penalty under a minute a 10 second run-off?

Droford 10-26-2014 12:41 PM

The clock was already stopped

Quote:

One of the following six fouls is committed by the offense. Following the runoff, the game clock will resume again once the ball is set. The runoff can also occur if a team declines to use a timeout if it has timeouts remaining.
False start
Intentional grounding
Illegal forward pass beyond the line of scrimmage
Throwing a backwards pass out of bounds
Spiking or throwing the ball away after a down (unless after a touchdown)
Any other intentional act that causes the clock to stop
