FyterFest should see an increase, because it’s FyterFest. It’ll cancel the drop from the show this week getting worse and worse. FyterFest is looking a bit like it sucks though, so it’ll probably not see an increase week two. The Dynamite after will probably be back down to <900k. Then Fight for the Fallen will get them back over before they’re down again. But they might get Danielson back for a match. It’s all extremely artificial spikes they’re seeing though, which reflects on the product.

Wow #1 again for the night by a wide margin... Great sign!

942,000 for AEW
Yikes |

Our watchalong tonight will draw higher numbers. I'm expecting around 100 million
|
With the star power arriving to celebrate the one year anniversary of the watch-along tonight, 100 million might be low!

#1 on cable again! AND the “They need a special show to draw!” myth is shattered as last week’s regular show drew better numbers!
WOW |
Fan in Shambles...FEDBAD!!! :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

And YoY matters again! Russo-esque spastic rule changes made wrestling better forever and will soon do the same for wrestling discussions!

You know what tangible evidence matters? Ticket sales and ppv buyrates, of which AEW does very well in, including a show like forbidden door that had a shit build and got plagued with injuries and talent dropping out due to sickness.
Love or hate AEW, they’re doing well. |

I really think you should try a gimmick though.
There’s a titty-honking hole in the soul of TPWW that could use some filling. |

You need to put ROFL emojis after each part so I know you’re “kidding” and don’t actually think that quote is where the YoY thing started.
Seriously, titty honking gimmick. Give it a shot. Even your partner in derp Noid tried it for a bit and he instantly became a much more likeable poster for like… an hour. |
Everyone loves titties
|
Holy shit, I thought Ass Excrement Wrestling would at least get 1 million for their FyterFest special. Diminishing returns. And lol at #fan discombobulated by his own bullshit. Slurp, slurp.
|
Hey, Noid coming in to project “bullshitting” randomly in this thread after I happened to call him out in the other thread for his awkward mirroring of smarter people via using their words nonsensically. Who could have seen that coming?
How many consecutive posts will it take for him to hide his shame this time around? Setting the over/under at 6 1/2. |
gonna say 4

You can even work in your Punk/Tony boner into the titty honking posts at first to ease into the gimmick. Come onnnn.

Suddenly it stops mattering to them when it highlights this shit isn’t more popular than it was at the start. Just like demos disappear when they aren’t doing as well as fanboys would like. Some are even trying to get rid of ratings talk altogether — not in the Destor kind of way, but in a “this doesn’t look good for us so let’s pretend we don’t care” way. |
Noid and Xrod dunking all over Fan. As usual.
|
Ratings don’t need to matter to your enjoyment of a product. It’s fine if they do too. Sometimes people want to see something they like making other people happy. But it was the Meltzers and the like who started this battle by pretending 18-49 matters when you’re talking about a mostly white wrestling audience with the average age of 47. It was shifty in the first place. That’s what’s fun about busting these myths.
I get people want AEW to be hot shit. But you can pretend you like it without pretending that it’s doing gangbusters. And if you want to see more people enjoying it, maybe put that on the product to be more appealing instead of shifting numbers around to suit you? |

Lol I’m catching shit for trying to get you to do a titty honking gimmick since you might actually try “as a joke” to do it and butcher Jazzy’s legacy because you’re… well, you.
I kinda agree so… never mind. Don’t do it. |

Noid’s really on edge over me reading him like a fucking book yesterday. Desperate to get that heat back while pretending he’s ignoring me. I’m sure the timing is coincidental. *french kiss*

I mean I’ll take it. Just seems like it’s the Cena esq against all odds booking trope, but for Naomi
|
Holy shit, AEW fired another salvo in the Friday Night Wars:
Rampage: 435k SmackDown: 2.077m |
I wonder if YoY is going to be brought up by AEW apologists when Rampage turns 1? Somehow I doubt it.
|
910,000 for Dynamite
Cause I'm free! Free Fallin! |
910,000 for Shark Cage Barbed Wire EVERYWHERE!!!
Guess "Special Edition" Dynamites with "Blood Fueds" in "Gimmick" matches don't draw like they used to. Wonder how great Booker Tiny will spend his daddy's money next :eek::eek::eek::eek: |
It's because they didn't have Shark Boy
|
Lol, not good for a special episode with a giant gimmick. Diminishing returns. A lot of the discourse around this week has been largely negative too. People are catching on to AEW sucking and have had enough of it. Soon even the bootlickers will come around.
Fucking 910k. Yeah, Dave. Hot shit. Totally in touch. People definitely aren’t dodging cable programming for streaming services at all. |
Kahns booking is IWC bullshit. Its all hotshots and gimmick matches
|
It’s going to come back and bite him.

TK subscribes to the idea that criticism is negative and negativity is toxic. AEW fanboys get all up in arms when shit is called out for sucking with statements like “Well don’t watch it.” Because it’s hard to be good and have an actual effect on people, they pretend that there aren’t millions of people who have at some point been interested in wrestling when it was more to their liking. Now it’s the “please the room” mentality. They provide you validation and positive feedback that is geared towards reinforcing what you are already doing (which is easy).
There are not enough people in the room to make wrestling hot. There are way more people that want to like wrestling that wouldn’t be caught dead in that room, but TK doesn’t want to be honest about the impression his product gives. Pleasing the room is not challenging and isn’t going to see any long-term growth. |
CM Punk has tried to pretend that casual fans don’t exist because he can’t get ‘em. Cody Rhodes has implied that they’re not real fans. The truth is they’re closer to “normal” people that have been turned away by this shit sucking. You don’t get cool points by touching the electric fence over and over again.
|
I’m still convinced that if someone came along and was selective with talent, could get a good slot with some good buzz, they could be doing WAY better than Dynamite is. It isn’t good.
And this is why I don’t think AEW is good for wrestling. It’s draining up resources making a good case that WWE are the only ones who can do this properly, and leaving potential fans with bad impressions. |
SmackDown: 2.256 million
Rampage: 428k Another win for AEW. |
AEW Rampage beat the WWE A&E Documentary on The Bella Twins though which came in at 420,000 average.
|
Quote:

Damn. The Bellas being WWE legends, you’d think their story would trounce AEW’s B-show. Especially with women who are all disgusted by AEW’s blood and gore but look up to the legendary Bellas as role models because WWE. But no. Woooooow

Are we back to comparing ratings from different days again like it is the same thing? Anything to prop up AEW right...

1.9 million for the post Vince ep of RAW

Absolutely terrible number for Raw. Got nothing on Dynamite’s 900k on a quieter night of television with only two hours in prime time. It’s very clear which show has more appeal.

Well, Noid’s doing it to prop up WWE so the last part is nonsensical.

dang, thread did go quiet after that.....
WHAT HAPPEN?! MAIN SCREEN TURN ON. |
Lol He quietly took the “L” here and desperately jumped to another thread to pick a fight and try again. He failed horribly in record time there and went into weirdly irrelevant meme/“post edit” mode. That is what happen.

SOMEONE SET US UP THE BOMB??

Pumped for Bryan Danielson vs. Daniel Garcia to take AEW to new heights. Hurry up and drop, Showbuzz!

976k for Dynamite. Another all-time high record.

It beat last year’s number of 1.108m too!

Meltzer reports TBS is thrilled with the growth AEW has shown since moving to their network. He said Top Execs are telling everyone in WBDiscovery that AEW could be the hidden jewel in the entire WB purchase.

https://c.tenor.com/5j7DVgqDSOkAAAAC...head-shake.gif |
Hahaha, what growth? I’m sure Meltzer has plenty of sources at TBS.
|
Honestly though, have they grown viewership since the swift to TBS?
|
No. It’s possible they have more unique viewers, or the demographic make-up of the audience has changed, but in terms of what is known about the sheer volume of people watching week-to-week, there is no reason to think that it has grown.
|
36,100 buys for ROH Death Before Dishonor apparently. Since it’s a Tony Khan product, this means it has done better than anything on PPV not named AEW.
|
Doubled the last ROH PPV’s buys, which itself crushed the previous ROH PPV’s buys.

Wow, and AEW can't even break a million
R.I.P |
It seems James Steele was right all along. Vince who?

OHHHHHHHNOOOOOOO! I thought Tiny Khan beat Triple H though? Somebody check on FTR Bald, quick!

I bet the answer is “as long as I want”. |
No surprise on the rating. New leadership in place, a guy with a god track record of actually building up guys and booking sensibly finally getting the reigns to the main product. If they still do the Hulu condensed shows, I’ll go watch just to see what they’re working with.
