Their latest Top 5 video or whatever did 100,000 viewers, which is about how many people tuned off their TV product this year. Keep in mind that some of these people probably watch anyway. They're not going viral. They have 2 million subscribers, which is in line between the ratio of people who watch Raw each week and then watch the YouTube videos they promote. There's no major internet boom, and yes, ratings do still matter to the fucking TV networks that need to schedule their programming. That is why TNA got booted from 8pm to 10pm and why they are now off POP.

Try and survive solely on YouTube clips that fewer than 150,000 people watch. I dare ya.

The idea of the YouTube clips, besides generating a tiny bit of ad revenue, would be to drive people towards the product -- not away from it.

What the fuck did he do for the brand?!? You can say it is good and that you love it, and that's your shitty taste, but what growth have they actually fucking shown? They've lost ratings, TV deals and their YouTube videos don't seem to be able to make up for it, statistically. It's not like they're doing 1 million on YouTube and people just don't have the channel.

Apart from him being a big part of every PPV he's the guy that's been out on podcast promoting the brand. The guy actually uses social media for his character which is something alot of talent today could do but don't. The brand went through a rebirth this year and Sami was a huge part of it.

As for their You Tube they just went over 2 million subscribers this year and over 50,000 Twitter followers. Compared to other companies they are way ahead in subscribers and views. This company also has TV deals in countries across the world. I don't think you understand the wrestling landscape like you think you do.

Lol, WWE has 38 million subscribers. 19x as much penetration on that platform as TNA has. The gap is actually closer when you consider television ratings. They have more than ROH or New Japan, but guess what? "YouTube subscribers don't matter when you can watch things however you like." You can't have it both ways. Why are YouTube subscribers the most important metric? Wouldn't the number of people who actually watch the videos count more? Generally speaking, TNA's videos do seem to get a little more than a random ROH video, but so what? 100,000 views is still not exactly dynamite. Otherwise, don't you think YouTube would have wanted the show? Think a little before you speak.

The gap between New Japan World subscribers and TNA viewers is getting narrower and narrower. TNA still has some international deals, which is something they are probably praying to their Canadian owl god every day in thanks for. How lucrative are those deals? Probably not very. Will they be renewed? Possibly, but I know they got dropped hard over here years ago. And those international deals don't mean squat if you don't get domestic television, which seems to be the crawl they are heading towards.

50,000 Twitter followers. Jesus Christ. Cody Rhodes has 800,000. Do you consider Cody Rhodes to be 16x bigger than TNA on his own? The Being the Elite videos consistently get more YouTube hits than TNA, by the way. Like, 50% more on average. But sure, keep touting YouTube and Twitter off as markers for the company's growth as they lose television and viewers.

"Ratings don't matter" is a bullshit cop-out used by WWE to justify why there is less interest in their product, and it's nice to see TNA fans doing the same when they cannot retain 10% of their initial audience. Don't let that be lost on you either -- TNA used to get 1.2 ratings. It used to have about 2 million people who were interested in it. Actually interested in it, not just wrestling fans passing through who hit a subscribe button and then never watch another video. TNA is losing ground whereas promotions like ROH and New Japan, very slowly mind you, are gaining it. It's not like it's even happening to everyone. It's fucking TNA.

MLW do about half as many YouTube views as TNA, by the way. Consider how young that promotion is compared to TNA. Also consider that they might only have 41,000 subscribers, but their videos actually get more traffic than that.

Jim Cornette's podcasts on YouTube get 10% of what TNA's videos on YouTube get. To talk about what they are doing as an achievement is just...mind boggling.

Although I will admit I'm somewhat BIAS for personal reasons (doing the match the Xplosion match should air in a couple of weeks :naughty: ) I honestly don't think this was a BAD year for Impact. They have obviously restructured the company, smaller venues filled up for tv as opposed to huge areas with a small number of fans, they're looking to build new/ their own stars (Fallah, Rascals, Scarlet, Santana/ Ortiz and Su Yung) and using alot of "indie darlings" (Cage, Sami Callihan, Willie Mack, Johnny Impact/ Taya) to build a larger fanbase as opposed to the old trope they had been burdened with for years (OMG what's "recently released WWE Superstar" doing in the Impact Zone!!!!).

This is a very interesting time in pro wrestling, ROH is about to go through a major restructuring, TNA has been rebuilding with the (assumed) plan to expand again soon, all this talk of "All Elite Wrestling" and even big supposed changed to Lucha Underground next year.

Also Corny just got a new YouTube. Hasn't had one in months due to de-advertising.
