Well looks like Mr. LaRoche is headed back to Atlanta.
|
Joe Beimel to the Rockies
|
Victor Martinez officially to Boston, for pitchers Justin Masterson, Nick Hagadone, and Bryan Price.
|
Scott Rolen to the Reds

Yankees get Jerry Hairston Jr.
Yahoo's live blog reports that the Yankees gave up..........Austin Jackson. I shit you not. There is absolutely no way that is accurate though, as the writer finds it hard to believe and is working to get accurate information. But if it was, ROFL Yankees. |
ESPNews said there might be a deal announced soon sending Roy Halladay to the Angels. Details are getting confirmed. Joe Saunders and 3 others going to Toronto.
|
Like the Martinez trade but Red Sox just traded LaRoche for Kotchman, what the fuck? I wonder if they got something else going
|
Nick Johnson to the Marlins for Aaron Thompson
|
Halliday to the Angles would be a deathblow to the Yankees if they made the playoffs
|
Yeah, still not sure if it's true. They've said nothing about it on MLB Network, one would think they would have mentioned it was close by now...even if it wasn't 100%.
|
we can't beat the Angles B team in the playoffs, so fuck me if we are going to beat Halliday twice
|
Ken Davidoff of Newsday (via Twitter) says the Reds will receive minor league catcher Chase Weems.
...how the FUCK that other guy reported the Yanks were giving up Austin Jackson for fucking Jerry Hairston Jr. is beyond me. |

Seriously have no idea who you're talking about. Juan Francisco is only 22 and he's not ready for the majors yet. The only other 3B is Encarnacion but it can't be him because he's fucking terrible.
|
Jerry FUCKING Hairston?! That's what I yelled when I heard this movie coming home after leaving the movie theatre. Mind you I had the top down to my car so I probably got a few looks.
We ask for a bullpen arm. We get a better version of Cody Ransom. Bad move IMO. I hope we gave up next to nothing. Oh, and mind you that Shelly Duncan got called up. Probably gonna get back on the bus now. |
What the fuck...Jon Heyman reports Jake Peavy to the White Sox. Peavy might be out for the year FFS. I thought DL'ed players couldn't be traded.
|
It's official, no Halladay deal happened. Jays and Angels got close but nothing could be agreed upon.
|
nice
|
Holy shit I just realized I'm on track to see Johan pitch on Tuesday  They'll need to call someone up to pitch Monday since there was a double-header yesterday...but you figure Johan will be pitching on his regular rest and Niese will just get an extra day to rest.
Yesssssss |
I really don't understand why the Red Sox traded for Kotchman, I am baffled still
|
I guess the Sox and Jays had a Halladay deal going but it fell through right at the end. It was Bucholz and change for him, and the Jays asked for Bard to call it a deal. The Sox said no Bard, and the Jays just gave up I guess.
I had a feeling Bard was going to be the deal breaker. I would have loved to get Halladay, but Theo probably made the right choice. |

Maybe the Jays had more interest in him, I dunno. |

Now official. Scott Rolen waived his no-trade clause. In small bit, Rolen asked to be traded due to "personal reasons". |

and as it turns out, they traded Encarnacion for rolen
|
Encarnacion will never be anything. He's an occasionally decent hitter, a god awful fielder, and as brittle at 26 as Rolen is at 35. Words cannot begin to describe how happy I am that not only the Reds are rid of that trainwreck, but they actually got someone decent in return.
I'm much more bummed about losing Hairston than I am about Edwin. |

Pretty ballsy deal for Peavy.
Also DOOODGE SHOW |
whoever that third basemen who robbed Aaron Cook of a hit against the Reds tonight is vastly better than Encarnacion
|
What happened to Alfredo Aceves?
|
Deflating loss last night. 2-2 tie in the 8th, Sean Green loads the bases with no outs, he induces a double play getting the force at home and at first...then promptly throws a wild pitch, making it 3-2 Diamondbacks and ultimately it was the deciding run.

Cliff Lee

Damn (White) Sox.

Angel Pagan

Derrek MF'ING LEE
Someone try to tell me this guy isnt a MVP canidate right now! I fucking dare you. This guy has had so many huge hits and HR's for the Cubs this year. Holy shit he's on fire right now. |
That homer he hit on Monday was a fucking BOMB. Right over my head onto Waveland. Ridic.
|
He had a fucking amazing July for sure. He keeps this up in August and he needs to seriously be considered for MVP.

Love the glove toss |
Interesting thing in the Os/Red Sox game
The Sox scored 14 runs on 17 hits in just 5 innings..you'd think the Starter for the Red Sox (Clay Buchholz) would be able to get a win out of that but he got pulled after 4+ IP giving up 7 runs of his own, but still up 14-7. |
